      Yeah that one is completely new to me and the fact that is a jellyfish, I thought it might be siphonophore or a highly specialised flatworm.

    Before watching you’re videos I enjoy to think that these are actually aliens they really live in a different world than on land habitants, to think that if we humans never came to technology and engineering we would have never seen or even think that these species existed. We as humans were never meant to see these amazing creatures, it’s why I’m so appreciated. Keep it up bro.

    • @cbl1199

      Indeed, I can confirm, for I really appreciate you for the fact we humans we're never meant to see these amazing creatures.

    • @bugjams
      @bugjams Рік тому +4

      We were never "meant" to do anything. There is no universal mandate on what anything should do, unless you count instincts. But the universe doesn't care on way or another whether we explore the deep ocean or not.
      You could just as easily argue that, as the only intelligent species capable of exploring multiple extreme environments, that we *are* meant to do so. If we, as sentient life, are the universe's way of observing itself, then I think we _should_ try and see everything we can.

  • @flightlesslord2688

    Honestly, we're gonna find aliens and theyre not gonna be that impressive even if theyre super bizarre. That Venus Girdle is just incredible. The fact its actually a comb jelly doesnt make it any less bizarre. Basically what should look like a glowing bag, looks like a wiggly sheet of bubble-wrap which is both coming and going and does whatever the hell that is lol. Amazing.

    I think the fireworks jellyfish and venus girdle take the cake for me in this video, as far as some of the strangest things I've seen yet, like compared to their relatives. I've never known that ctenophores (or comb jellies) could come in ribbon shapes. I mean I guess it makes sense. These things have been evolving since at least the Cambrian period, if not longer. I'm just used to the round ones with those crazy rainbow light shows. The fireworks jellyfish looks like a living koosh ball or something. Absolutely mesmerizing.
    The shark swarm clip was very interesting too. Looks like the footage is from 2004? I wonder if the coordinates on the video could be helpful in tracking down where this was originally filmed. Also love the music on your vids too. Definitely love watching these vids before I head for bed. Super relaxing. The Atolla's light show is also worth a mention, and always cool to see. Just boggles my mind how all this stuff is existing at the same time and place (Earth) as us, yet it feels like some kind of fantasy, because of its distance from us (or most of us).

    I don't even know why I love watching these videos so much, because though I love swimming in the sea, I fear diving! My dad, who scubadived for decades here in central Chile, tried to teach me when I was a kid, but anytime we got deep enough to get into the kelp forests I got so scared I couldn't keep going. It's so surreal to see such a slow moving creature like a sea cucumber swimming. I noticed all the swimming species lack the ossicles of shallow water relatives. I wonder if the reason we find swimming sea cucumbers in the deep is simply because they share a common swimming relative or if they've converged on that behavior and body after losing adaptations for shallow water environments.
