- Опубліковано 10 жов 2024
- In the video analysis, I will be explaining the step by step procedure of how to accurately prepare the reagents needed for the 2024 Chemistry WAEC Practical.
I will b providing helpful tips , demonstrating how the practical will be done and what the titre value range should be.
I will also discuss the reasons why the titre value might not be same and will be emphasising on that fact that what teachers fill in the report given to them will be what will be used as yardstick to mark the student examination booklet.
Overall, the video will serve as a valuable resource for students preparing for the exam, offering guidance and insight into successfully coming out with flying colours in the forthcoming WAEC 2024 Practical Exam.
Thanks for tuning in to today's video! If you found it helpful, don't forget to give it a thumbs up and subscribe for more chemistry content.
As always, feel free to leave any questions or topics you'd like me to cover in the comments below.
Until next time, stay chemically active

I have only one 1000 cm 3 standard volumetric flask . How come your feso4 is in a 500 ml standard solution flask
@@Omorogieva34Blessing I Prepared it in 1000cm3 but since I won't be using all I jus poured some quantity in 500cm3✅
This video has and is teaching me a lot of things starting from its introduction and am learning a lot sir
Thank you so much sir. With this things you do you save not only me, but other chemistry student out there from anxiety or fear of not knowing it by taking your precious time to explain it to us.
Kudos for finding time to help learners
For those asking how he prepared the 2M H2SO4.. It Depends on the concentration of the stock H2SO4.. For example if the molar conc. of the stock is labelled 20M and you want to make a 2M solution of the acid. It means there are 20moles of the acid in 1dm3 water solution of the acid in the stock.. Therefore you calculate the volume of the stock acid that will contain 2moles of the acid. You'll do it like this:
20moles=1dm3[1000cm3]
2moles=x
: x=[1000×2]/20
x=100cm3
This means 100cm3 of the stock acid solution contains 2moles of the acid.. Therefore you add the adequate amount of distilled water to make 100cm3 of the stock acid solution to 1000cm3[1dm3]..This should 900cm3 of distilled water!
100cm3 2moles of H2SO4 + 900cm3 distilled water=1000cm3 2moles of H2SO4=2M H2S04!! Viola!
Just apply this principle in relation to the conc. of the stock H2SO4 you have! Not everything will be 20M.. Goodluck!
What am I to use in measuring the 1.58g of Kmno4

I appreciate your effort sir what if I buy Small amount of of the acid how will I know the molar concentration of the stock
@@AdamuZainabZ You have to ask from the supplier whom you bought it from! It's always written on a label on the original container!
Thanks so much
this channel is captivating
This process is very good ..thanks you sir mine here is 16.30 end point God bless you sir
Great job 👏👏👏👏👏🎉🎉👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉

Thank you so much for the explanations. God bless you in Jesus name.
Sir why are we using 250 cm^3
We are very grateful sir
Weldone sir
Did it and got 17.7, 17.8, 18.2. and when i did another one, I got 19.00 twice
Same with me ooo. Just did it now got 19.5
Thanks for this Sir.
Finally
Thank you sir but please sir when it is practical alternative B please try and do same
What about the qualitative analysis sir?
My dilution of KmnO4 mistakenly exceeded 1000cm3 when I was preparing it
Thanks very much sir ❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you very much for this video sir. I learnt alot. However, just want to know how you got the 111cm3 of H2SO4, 2M. Am sure you calculated it.
Depends on the concentration of the stock H2SO4.. For example if the molar conc. of the stock is labelled 20M and you want to make a 2M solution of the acid. It means there are 20moles of the acid in 1dm3 water solution of the acid in the stock.. Therefore you calculate the volume of the stock acid that will contain 2moles of the acid. Sir please the KMnO4 is 150cm
Sir, I'm a bit concerned about the colour of your Fe2SO4. The one my teacher prepared is a clear solution. It only looked like yours when we left it uncorked.
Maybe your teacher has acidified it . When acidified it color is lighter or close to colourless
Thank you for this. I have a weighing balance that weighs in oz, how can I handle that to give in g
Click on the mode to change to g
Sir please when I did mine I got seven less than ten
Please what did I do wrong?
Sir can we add 20cmcube of the H2SO4 to the B solution if the question asks us to?
Sir please how many decimal place should our values ( mass conc / molar conc )
I just want to be sure sir😅
3 significant figures
Thank you
Sir you said we should leave the KMnO4 to dissolve
Is that going to be done by our teachers days before the exam or by us during the exam
How can i prepare 1M H2SO4
Sir i thought making of 1M H2SO4 is dissolving 100cm3 of the conc acid in 900cm3 of water to make up 1dm3. How come it's 111cm3
Dissolving 100cm3 in 900cm3 will make 10% concentration.... Percentage concentration is not molar concentration
Please Sir
Are we going to do calculations in this titration today
No
Why did you measure 111cm³ of H2SO4 in 1dm³ for 2 molar solution?
Depends on the concentration of the stock H2SO4.. For example if the molar conc. of the stock is labelled 20M and you want to make a 2M solution of the acid. How do I measure 111centimeter cube. What will I use to measure it accurately ?
Lol.. A measuring cylinder of course
Please the FeSo4 that I will add 2M H2So4 is it the one I measured with pipette or the 1000cm3 of FeSo4 I prepared
Add it to the one you pipetted for each titration
What is that in the flask
Sir can my teacher used 23.90 as rough and 22.80 as the first one
If that is his/her decision... kindly obey him and do what he/she has instructed ✅
@@askchemistryhangout thanks you very much you have been a great help to weac candidates
Thank you very much my boss.. I look forward to the predicted questions in the qualitative and quantitative analysis.. God bless you
Sir can we prepare it a night before or in the morning?
If a question is given as add in drop and in excess can u record that seperately
Definitely.. The reaction in drop might be different from the reaction in excess
Sir in my experimentation, the end point was 18.4. Am i still in the range sir?
Very correct
Is titre value the same with concordant value
Titre value is the average volume of KMNO4 used.
Concordant values means how much close together are your readings.
Do you get?
Sir, if my teacher give me the titer value what do you prefer me to do can perform the titration or I use your tricks what you gave us
Use trick to save your time ✅
@@askchemistryhangoutplease i don't understand the trick
@@edidiongasuquo2620 Go and watch the 2024 waec chemistry practical Guide.. it's well explained there
Only use the average titre value that is given to you by your teacher. Because waec will mark you based on your teachers end point.
@@rahmahomale5351you are right
Sir , please ! My teacher's own is turning red what happened and she's having 5.6
It's your teacher that can answer that o😂
Did your teacher add H2SO4?
Kudos Sir
Why 111
Sir.. I'm a teacher.
We got 25.20 cm³... I feel its too far from expected range
If that's what you are filling in your report and the student titre will be close to that then there is no problem ✅
@@askchemistryhangout okay Sir..
I'm most grateful for the response. Thank you
Why exactly are u using 2M , why can't i use 1M
you look better without shaving
I was getting 10.9 as end point when i did mine. Will Waec see that as a problem?
It will not be a problem but will not give you what you want. Use that titre value and solve for mole ratio, you won't get 1:5.
If you do the practical very well, your titre value will be from 18 and above.
I discovered I was using hydrated FeSO4 instead of anhydrous. The next one I did was giving me 17.5. is it too far from 18 or it must be 18 or more?
How do i prepare the 2molar of sulphuric acid using the measuring cylinder

Sir can I prepare it in the morning or a night for the exams
Yes
Sir i thought FeSO4 is green in solution, why is the colour yellow
It has high oxidation potential
Sir is it that we have to prepare 2M of the acid ?
You can use both 1M or 2M to acidify the redox medium
I got 10.10cm³ as my titre value.
If that's what you will feel in teachers report is fine
We are very grateful sir
Thank u sir
What about the qualitative analysis sir?
Sir can my teacher used 20.90 as rough and used 20.80 as the first one
Yes, as long as it is ±0.2
