- We installed an awesome 17 Gallon Auxiliary Fuel Tank manufactured by Long Range America in this new Jeep Rubicon Gladiator! We recently had supercharged this JT so the more fuel the better! It's a pretty nifty setup! Check it out!

So just to be clear, this is 17 gallons on top of the regular a gas tank? It's just 17 gallons won't get you far here in Alaska.

Correct it's an ADDITIONAL 17 gallons, the stock tank is left in place
I have 3 concerns. First, it looks to already be a new lowpoint underneath the Jeep. Do you lose clearance and if so, how much? 2nd, is there a skid plate that installs with this? Again - additional clearance issue. 3rd - the install for the transfer switch, is there an alternate location? I already have the Mopar integrated trailer brake knob where you located the switch.

You lose a few inches of clearance. No skid plates. Unless you want to weld a plate to it before install. Switch can go wherever you want to drill the hole to mount it.
Try arb frontier tanks also
Hi - asking again - can you please show or talk about how that tank is armored? It looks like it hangs pretty low and high centering is an issue with JTs. Also - is the LRA tank aluminum? If so I'd really want to see a steel slider (steel is hard and slides over rock - aluminum is soft and catches). And yes - I want more tank space for off roading - not just commuting. hard to be out in the middle of nowhere and constantly need to fill from jerry cans...
Finally could you please put up some video showing the engine sound at the muffler now that you have removed the center muffler and resonator?

All of these questions would be best answered by LRA! We do not have the Jeep here anymore, so can't show the sound after we customized the exhaust.

These guys literally do not know you at all yet you just demanded 5 things from them like they owe you. These questions are all things you can research yourself and find answers for.
Any idea if this would work on an Ecodiesel Gladiator? Don't know how much the exhaust differs.
We had to modify the exhaust for this Jeep as well, so that wouldn't be an issue!
The Ecodiesel has its normal fuel tank on the opposite side of the vehicle than the Gladiators with gas engines. Consequently the exhaust is on the opposite side. The DPF can’t be removed, like the muffler & resonator were in this video.

39 Gallons Total.
A total of 39 gallons of gas is great for those long roads.

Thanks! Unfortunately they do not make a long range tank for a diesel! We also found that it won't work with the e-torque model either!
Could mount a tank in the bed though.
So this won't work on the ones with the i4 engine
Their website does not currently specify any restrictions on which engines it does or does not work with, other than the EcoDiesel.
Sorry for the dumb question...How exactly do you fill the aux tank at the pump?
It's T'd in at the filler neck, both of them fill at the same time.
Can you fit the long arm suspension from Rock Krawler with this ?
We have not done that install yet, at a glance it doesn't look like there would be any major fitment issues, but best bet would be to contact Rock Krawler and/or Long Range America
What switch did you use to hide it in the dash?
That's the switch that comes with it! It's not made to go in the cigarette lighter per se, but it can be made to fit there pretty easily.
Can I install one in my 2017 prius?

For my 2022 2 door Rubicon will this tank work for my short wheel base ? And if so what's the cost for this aux tank ? Thank you
LRA does not make a 2 Door JL extended range tank at this time

No problem! I checked Genright as well, since they offer many larger tanks for Jeeps and they also do not have one. So either they're all just behind on engineering for the platform, or the tank it has is already as large as it can comfortably be without major modification. I'm sure you know about the option, but Rotopax cans on a carrier are an easy solution, or Wavian NATO cans have a very tight seal and can be stored even inside a vehicle without venting or leaking. Both cans also offer a nice vented spout that doesn't have the CARB spring loaded nozzle that nobody likes!

@@MountZionOffroad well since they developer the 4 door I can imagine companies went away from 2 door which is unfortunate, but may just have to fabricate one along the guidelines of that Australian fuel cell, make it to fit 🤔 I really do appreciate you all looking ! Thank you !!
Do you know if it would work with metal cloak skids ?
The long range tank we installed is a whole separate tank that does not interfere with the stock tank, so a Metalcloak skid should have no trouble bolting on to protect the stock tank. Not sure if anyone makes a skid for the long range tank yet!
@@MountZionOffroad im sorry I should have worded it differently. I already have the metal cloak skids and did not know if they somehow would interfere with mounting locations of the aux fuel tank.
The Undercloak Integrated Skid should not interfere with the mounts for the aux tank

Sorry for the late reply! Long Range America does not offer this for the Diesel JT, likely because of the space that the added emissions components take up on that model
This is WAY too much work and WAY too complicated for a measly 17 gallons. It's better to install an aux tank in the bed.
I suppose you could be right if you don't ever put anything in your bed. I wouldn't want to lose what little space the bed provides.
