  • Getting Started with Open Web UI: A Self-Hosted Interface for Large Language Models
In this video, I'll guide you through setting up Open Web UI, a feature-rich, self-hosted web interface for large language models. You can use it to interact with local Olama models or OpenAI compatible models like GPT-4o and Groq (Llama-3, Mixtral, etc.). I'll show you deployment options using Docker or Kubernetes, and explain how to use its extensive features such as uploading files, recording voice, and generating responses. Additionally, I'll demonstrate how to integrate different models, configure API endpoints, and tweak advanced settings, all while showcasing the user-friendly interface and helpful documentation. By the end of this video, you'll be able to effectively use Open Web UI for managing and interacting with your language models locally or on your own infrastructure.

wow the project is awesome. do you plan to include in the answer engine something like this? I am trying lots of stuff such as changing the retrieval information. Because it is not always relevant to search for videos and images, hence it would be cool if the user could select different modes like videos, academic articles, news or a custom inquire component by which the user can select multiple capabilities the user would like to be diplayed in their ui. I trully believe that generative ui components are the next step towards making user experiece far more engaging, because chat interfaces with generative ui can potentialy increase what you get out of any document from a users perspective. Kudos for the content, you inspire me with every video you upload

And one doubt about the previous video about amazon bedrock is if they are compatible with streamming ui objects or if the only high abstraction provider is vercel with rsc?

@@user-vh3vf7hc9s There are a handful of features within this project I love. For the answer engine project, the next features include a focus on RAG as well as adding in the ability to trigger workflows / agents. I like your idea of being able to select different modes - if you'd like to see that please add any requests to the issues tab in Github Repo of the project. For your question around amazon bedrock, I am planning on using that '@ mention' feature for much more than just selecting various models - this is going to be the way you can select and invoke various workflows, invoke agents. In terms of the streaming UI objects outside of Vercel AI - what did you have in mind? If you have github, would love to keep your ideas within the issues tab of the repo!

What i was thinking is lets say i can injest a file for example about x topic about history. The idea is that the document is embeded into a vector db maybe upstash or another provider and this information is served to the user through custom ui components. Lets say there are several custom predefined agents that trigger certain custom workflows. One could be the educational assistant and the generated ui could be flashcards, quizzes, main insights and the agent could potentialy display this objects with the rag data. Maybe its a bit confusing but i guess that would be the general idea, creating agents with the ability to create custon ui based on the type of personality the user would like to trigger. Another one could be a researcher that inquires the user to delve deeper into topics through ui components something like that.

Your video seems accelerated, I had to use at 0.75x in order to understand what you say, too much information, and you cut all pauses, making a charge of things to hear, learn. Keep calm, nobody's leaving. If I didn't already use Open WebUI, I couldn't have understood anything. Your information took milliseconds on the screen. I had to watch 2 times on 0.75 and you tried to summarize everything on a few minutes. People who don't know will continue without knowing, because they are beginners. And people who already know, don't need. Open WebUI is such a deep software, very difficult to install and configure for the beginner, because he needs to follow the instructions completely. But perhaps your channel is only for professionals, not for people who are giving the first steps. I can't imagine having a Python lesson in this place of 10x. Certainly I wouldn't understand anything. Don't rush ! Good luck. 🙏👍💥
