It's just about being fair. We've all seen businesses closed down because people didn't want to work there, not just because of lack of customers. Just be fair. That's all.
they get paid when they act in the film. He is showing residuals which Hollywood pays, but no where else in the world do they pay that at all, usually they only get paid for the job not residuals. so its better than nothing.
Maybe they shouldn’t sign a contract and accept the terms and conditions of it. They get paid for the work they do and then they expect to get paid 10s of thousands of dollars in residuals? If these actors are so hard up for cash, maybe they should get a real job. You get paid what you’re worth in Hollywood everybody knows this before they go in. And if you don’t know it well now you know.
Maybe I'm missing something...🤔 Didn't these people choose this profession instead of getting a regular job? Starting their own business? Or making investments? How do they not know what they are going to be paid BEFORE they agree & show up on a set? Why are they receiving "mystery" checks? I'm sincerely trying to understand their situation...
This is their job/career and the actors work like 16+ hours a day so they deserve way more money than some gas money. But unfortunately that’s how the entertainment business is structured. They go by what the contract says.
120 plus is food for two weeks. gas? out of touch. 39 dollars for popcorn? thats phone and dinner. 59? thats lights. all for PAST work. i dont see macys sending me a residual check........
Hollywoods BIGGEST problem is the REALITY that there are ONE HUNDRED YEARS of QUALITY videos ALREADY out there that ANYONE can watch. No NEW stuff needed. More stuff then you could watch continuously for over TWENTY YEARS!.............WHO NEEDS HOLLYWOOD???
I'm from abroad so I don;t know much, but I DO watch Bones. So in the series Bones, he played a minor role in 1 episode in season 5 (2010) and 13 years later he still gets a residual for 40 bucks from that 1 episode. OK, lets check wikipedia shall we ? Page Kennedy: 21 movies (3 straight to video, 2 short, 1 TV movie), 38 Television shows! It must be an interesting residual sum from all of these. One final comment. Backstrom is a single season, 13 episode show with mixed reviews. Page might be in the main cast but the show was hardly a success. Bones on the other hand was a 12 season, award winning megahit. If Page gets 40 bucks for a minor role in 1 episode imagine how much residuals are paid to the main cast!! I'm sorry Backstrom wasn't a megahit but it simply is not the same thing.
How much did he get paid upfront for each episode? Way I see it, acting is contracting work and residual were an incentive that is no longer needed because of shorted projects and oversaturated job market. How about an actor or writer mention their pay and how long the job was. They won't because normal people wouldn't take their side.
WOW! If they didn’t spend so much money paying these “A” listers and executives so darn much money, they could afford to pay everyone else a decent wage. You got doctors, nurses, teachers, police officers, construction workers, bus drivers, etc. that bust our behinds and making a difference in the world that don’t see that type of money. There’s no way that these entertainers, athletes that make this ridiculous amount of money. But we keep saying okay. The economy ain’t that bad when money keeps going to the top just so somebody can fly to Paris for a $20,000 meal and fly back home the same night. I hope they boycott until they see results. This is non$ense!
With what I have had pushed on my and how bad 95% of TV/movies are I think he is over paid. Go full AI as these same people didn’t care about me when my job was automated. Karma is a bitch
Page i mess with you but come on my guy . You did one episode of the Shield(I know cuz that was my show) and had a total of 4 min of facetime. Unless that check was from the reruns shown on cable networks such as fx, spike tv, ect. but are the residuals the same with streaming?
These people get paid upfront and then be expecting to get huge royalty checks man I would feel sorry if they took a back end deal and got those kind of checks but I'm quite sure he got paid a nice wage up front bruh I wish actors would stop doing this as if they never got compensated for there services

What job lets you work once and then get paid in perpetuity? This industry is just being technologically disrupting like others have been disrupted and where were these actors. Number one of those call centers left other countries and moved around to the cheapest states and went to the Philippines and India? I work in Industry women laying people off for 4 years and we are down 60,000 employees or maybe even 70,000 now because of Technology. It's just about being fair. We've all seen businesses closed down because people didn't want to work there, not just because of lack of customers. Just be fair. That's all.
Dam shame when actors putting out mix tapes to stay a float 😮
they get paid when they act in the film.
Wow!
120 plus is food for two weeks. gas? out of touch. 39 dollars for popcorn? thats phone and dinner. 59? thats lights. all for PAST work. i dont see macys sending me a residual check........
Flipping patties actually pays more than that sh** …. 🤯🎉
Hollywood need to leave streaming a lone and go back to physical dvds
Those days are gone. They need to revise the industry standards to address today's industry- streaming, AI, different platforms of media, etc.
Funny thing is he was only on 1 episode of Justified and got more money
So please tell me why Faizon be hating on Kountry Wayne when his checks look like this lol
How much did he get paid upfront for each episode? Way I see it, acting is contracting work and residual were an incentive that is no longer needed because of shorted projects and oversaturated job market. How about an actor or writer mention their pay and how long the job was. They won't because normal people wouldn't take their side.
WOW!!! No wonder ya'll on strike that's ridiculous man. They can pay way more than that that's unacceptable.
That’s crazy!!!!!
I wanted to see that weeds check
To be fair, I'm fairly certain backstrom isn't getting reruns.
Never thought anyone of these people get paid $39 for anything at all on a show.
They're almost ripping you off Brother.
Good for him he got parts.
How can the company make so much money from the actors acting in the show but give pennies to the actors for there Appreciation🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵🕵
Now tell us about how you got paid 100k for a 6 second vine 10 years ago
Maybe they should invest the larger sums of money they receive while shooting like anyone else would have to. What other job or industry is there that must continue to pay you large sums once you're done?
How can we strike for higher streaming royalties?
Nah seriously... i want $1 per stream
Dude made 300$ a month for DECADES of work 🤯
So what was faizon love talking about saying he gets residuals? Going against kountry wayne I’d like to see what he actually makes from his residuals 😂😂😂
Know this brother from the Upshaws!
So, what about us everyday working people who deal with not being paid enough to live comfortably? Should we also be on strike?
What job lets you work once and then get paid in perpetuity? This industry is just being technologically disrupting like others have been disrupted and where were these actors. Number one of those call centers left other countries and moved around to the cheapest states and went to the Philippines and India? I work in Industry women laying people off for 4 years and we are down 60,000 employees or maybe even 70,000 now because of Technology. They're trying to act like technology doesn't exist and try to put the genie back in the bottle, but it's too late for that they need to figure out and pivot and get new skills just like everyone else who has been disrupted by new technology.
$39 is More than Popcorn it's a Half a Tank of Gas in High Azz Cali & Vegas but i get what you're trying 2Say!!
