Who ever is getting butt hurt over this video needs to get a life. I had been looking into e-bikes for a while and this video gave me the push I needed to make it happen. I ended up going with another bike but thanks for putting out great content. 👍
Just bought the Aventure 2 last month. I put just over 500 miles on my previous folding 20" ebike in 11 months. I put more than 250 miles on this beast in 1 month. I love the torque sensor and the beefy tire setup...kinda part ebike part enduro motorcycle.
I had one on mine when I was 5 or so. Of course, it only held a Daisy BB gun, but it wasn’t too long before it was a .22. I guess I’m just from a time when teaching kids to be responsible and to think for themselves was commonplace.
Mike, I love watching your videos, full of great content!!!!! But I would never have thought I’d be watching you review an ebike. I loved it!!!!!! As always a great no nonsense review with no pulled bunches. Keep up the GREAT work!!!!!!

Mrgunsngear, thank you for all that you do.
I just watched this video last week due to skipping over it when notified because I didn't think I cared. I was so so wrong. After watching this it pulled me down a long rabbit hole. Two days later I purchased the Aventure .2 and it should be to me today or tomorrow. Just thought I should drop by and thank you once again for making me love and want something I didn't even know existed before watching one of your videos. lol.
Who else was distracted watching the line on the fishing rod?? LOL I kept watching it move up and down and waiting for the rod to bend and the drag scream!! Native Floridian. It's in my DNA so I can't help it!
Aventon is also a pro gun rights company. I have the twin of the green bike. I put shorter crank arms on mine as they can hit the ground while on rough trails.
Oh my goodness I cannot thank you enough for this review! I've been looking into buying another bike. I had a recumbent trip but it was just too low to the ground. And after I ran over rattlesnake, and then a small alligator I said that's enough for this I don't want something this low again. So this is the greatest timing! Thank you so very very much❤
Have that exact bike in Charlotte and use it to get to work and around on the weekends. Absolute game changer not having to worry about traffic and parking.
Bought the same bike last month. Great bike and a lot of fun. It’s a beast and always draws smiles among other bikers. Tons of power from 750 watt motor and 48v battery. Haven’t found a hill I want to climb that it couldn’t. Not a mountain or touring bike but great for everything else including snow. Two recommended additions….Thudbuster seat post ($120) makes the ride a lot more comfortable and added liners for the tires. Can’t carry a spare tube for a 4” tire and you don’t want to risk pushing a 75 lb bike with a 4” flat tire wobbling of the rim back to your car/home. Great fun and exercise to whatever degree you want.
Great vid! I purchased the 2.0v a month ago just before I retired and put 200 miles on it and love it. I have done all off road mountain bike trails as well as groomed trails and rails to trails rides. The ECO mode is perfect for getting a little assistance up hills and I can still keep my heart rate in cardio zone🤙 There is a new gun range that opened , with the rear rack that’s standard on the 2.0 and the bag that I got, I’m going to pack up a couple pistols and some ammo and ride to the range and I will call it the triple blast, I will have a blast riding there, will have a blast shooting then have a blast riding home🤠
Is it possible to get one of these to Hickok45? I would like to see a version 2 full auto Uzi bike ride through the woods. Even better, you and Hickok with full auto Uzis. 👍
I have an Aventure and I use it for hunting and randomly getting around. I picked it up just a week or so before they came out with the Aventure II, If I had known I would have held out but hey, those are the breaks. It has performed quite well. Not only for getting around offroad, especially in deep sand but is perfect for getting past all the traffic heading out to the beach. I am very happy with mine.
I have the Pace500v2 which i bought last year, put over 2800 miles on it since, only thing that needed replaced was my chain since i got it dirty pretty often. Loved it so far.
I just purchased one in the camo color. Really excited and will probably upgrade some of the components to spoil myself a bit. Seems like for the money, there is no better purchase out there. The beach riding looks like a blast.
After hurricane Sandy, many roads in central NJ were closed due to floods and downed trees. There were also restrictions on when you could get gas (if it was even available). Bicycles on the other hand….
Great video - laughed when it came up because my wife and I purchased the Aventure.2 a couple of months ago. Same logic, same assessment and yeah they are fun and functional. Definitely you need to ride the Aventure.2 torque sensor is awesome. Your wife would fit on the Small Step Thru perfect - my wife is 5’2” and it is great for her, even with a suspension seat post. Got the extra battery and the .2 has a 60 mile range though we see 50 miles as our average limit in real riding/temps
Any kind of minibike, dirtbike, moped, scooter, motorcycle, ATV, snowmobile, boat, jet ski or anything like that is a good thing to keep around at your house just for a survival standpoint. You can take those places your regular car, truck or SUV can't go and they are far more fuel efficient as well. If you remember 9-11 all of the gas stations had huge long lines waiting to get fuel and the price was fluctuating all over the place by the hour. It's nice to know you have a alternative method of transportation in the event of something like that happening. I am a fisherman and have always had a bass boat or fishing boat. I have had my fair share of motocross dirtbikes, scooters, motorcycles and a ATV too. While I don't ride motorcycles on the street anymore (Harley Davidson) I could see myself getting a newer Yamaha YZ125 or YZ250 again and would have a blast with it. I had a Yamaha Razz and a Yamaha Zuma before for quick cheap run into town transportation. I also has a Polaris Sportsman 500 4x4 ATV for awhile too. One of these E-Bikes has had me interested for a few years now. It's quiet and doesn't take up a lot of room in the barn or garage. You could easily slip out and off on it in a bugout or survival situation as well.
Oops. forgot to add. By using a Jackery and a couple 100 watt solar panels I have charged it in the middle of nowhere. Connect the panels to the power supply (Having pass through charging is important) then plug in the charger. The panels can't keep up but starting with a 100% charge can get it done.
Have more and more of these across the river at Purdue. Look like great fun. Saw a kid near campus delivering giant orders of Chinese food today on one.
Give WIRED a call and see if they will let you review their e-bike. It’s one of the best values if you want a powerful and fast bike. Offer a step thru model which is great for older riders and sell a trailer that hunters can use with something like a 300 pound capacity.
How easy are these to change the inner tubes and are they a common size where you could buy from any bike store or online other than Aventon's website. As well as the tires are the a easy replacement?
The pace 300 is great my wife loves it. I guess great minds think alike im partway through production of video on e-bikes for prepper use and then i see this pop in my feed. 🤷♂️ good video as always tho
That's actually a lot cheaper than I would have thought; I checked out prices on ebikes years ago and I literally couldn't afford one. My job is only 2.5 miles from my house, so I bike there quite a bit in the summer but it's all downhill on the way there and so, of course, all uphill on the way home. I work 10-hour shifts (more if there's overtime) and riding 2.5 miles, almost all uphill doesn't seem very appealing after that. I might be a lot more inclined to ride to work if I had some assistance with the ride home. Then again, I get a decent workout by riding uphill so maybe I shouldn't complain too much?
Do you have pedal strikes when turning or riding rutted roads? Do you hit the front tire when you pedal? Seems like the frame design is severely flawed. Also, the throttle is slow to respond and dangerous.
More reviews on ebikes/ prepared citizen stuff would be cool. I bought one of those jackery's that was reviewed here and it has been very good during power outages
Mike, Do you have any experience with the Discreet Ballistics 300BO sub sonic expanding ammo?? I ordered a couple hundred to test for reliability. If it runs without any hiccups, it's probably going to be my home defense ammo....
Hm. You & Colion both with eBike reviews. I kind of scoffed about them as "not really biking" when I get passed by people using the full assist. Thanks for giving additional perspectives about why I might want one. Maybe not on my cardio rides, but for SHTF, yes. Plus I'm starting to notice effects of aging. Nice to get home if knee quits on me.
Hate to ask but is it made in China. I started looking for one last year and in my first attempt, that was all I found. I've been boycotting them since 2004. Can't go into why. Haven't had a chance to get back to the research but this looks well made. Thanks.
I have one and used to ride it to work and off road on the weekends when I lived in Seattle. Thankfully I got a new job and left that hellhole. The thieves and homeless people couldn’t catch me on it 😂
I don’t have an aventon ebike, but my admittedly cheaper e-bike has similar features and one thing I’ll mention is that the significant added weight and fewer gears over a normal bike means that without the electric motor active you cannot keep up with people on normal bikes, and good luck getting up a hill
@@Mrgunsngear no problem. Just wanted to share my experience to give people a picture of some of the downsides of an e-bike that might not even be present on the aventon bike you’re reviewing. Great review, and info Mike. The price was surprising as well. Thanks.

Proprietary battery right?
Do they come with helmets??
My TNVC Torch will be a good replacement for that headlight. 😊

Mount a Fightlite MCR on the handle bars.

Electric cars are stupid, BUT E-bikes kinda make a lot of sense.
I wish there were more safe places to ride where I live, I have a bike but I only ride it in the neighborhood

I’ve really had no issues.

Haven't figured out the gun feature yet but I know for a fact that you can set it to "electrocute" and it will act as a portable electric fence 😂
