- Leaving the camp at Cowgill I head off to Sedbergh from there to Kirkby Lonsdale (Devils Bridge) I lost a couple of files here so continuity goes awry then from Devils bridge to Ingleton for breakfast.
Bike runs like a champ. My old Bonnie is just over the 1000 mile mark after a full rebuild thanks to your vids.😉
Hi Derek :-) thanks mine is running smashing, glad to of helped with your rebuild now it's just the tinkering!
Lovely ride John, The Bike likes to kick up it's heels doesn't it? showing it's Bonneville heritage tighten the wire and off she goes like a scadded cat!! When you were passing those cars it was really singing, lovely. Thanks for the ride! Dave
Hi Dave :-) cheers aye she can go when she wants to around 5000rpm sweet as a nut :-)
Bike sounds great . How do you manage to start so easy when warm.
Hi Kinnaird :-) thanks, a couple of pots o tea and I'm good to go! '-D
The bike on the other hand is going well and always a good starter usually first kick.
If you are having trouble starting when warm it's usually a sign of a rich mixture or possibly a tight tappet.
lunmad I just love your videos. It's a great source if info and really entertaining. I often refer to them before getting the spanners out on my T140e. Thank you.
a year later and it's still popping on decel sometimes... I think the baffling is pretty worn at this point.. probably just started noticing it when you cut your pipes shorter so they weren't blocking the whole length of the muffler. (silencer)
Hi Otis :-) I would be surprised if there is much baffle left the wadding will of certainly blown out a long time ago. I never thought about the cutting of the headers, you could be right there are a few air leak which won't help.
well it's just the fact that now you are exposing the exhaust pressure to more of the packing instead of just forcing it out the end.. you had those things jammed all the way in to the end of the muffler pretty much. I still love the sound of my dad's T120C with that 2 into 1 with no packing in it. I've never heard a Triumph that sounds like that anywhere else, but you also have to figure it's also got high compression, big cams, and a set of bigger 389/95 (1 1/16) carbs instead of the typical smaller Bonnie carbs. I wish I could get it running and get a good audio clip for you but we just don't have the money to fix the carbs. (they are seriously warped)
Hope you enjoyed your breakfasts
Hi Triple :-) yummy certainly did, egg, bacon, sausage, beans and toast and a big mug of tea.
