I enjoy this realistic approach to off grid videos. Reality is sobering and enticing at the same time. Thanks for the honesty. To many channels leave folks with unrealistic expectations.
Hey, Kyle. Dishes, plates, and glasses, right!! 😬 Arrrrgh! Sleigh in paper plates, paper bowls, and cups. Pretty light. Somewhat reusable. When done, burn. Or shred a little, then compost (eco-friendly!) used paper products, away from cabin. Boom. No wash bin, drying and crap.
How i dream of having such a life away from the madness of this world. Congratulations on yall you have accomplished young man. You are an inspiration no doubt. God bless and thank you for your content.
Kyle, found your channel last week and can't stop watching. Thanks for posting these - so fun to watch you all doing what you love. Please do keep posting - those of us living in large cities really do love to see what's possible out there. What a beautiful life you are living.
Thank you for sharing a portion of your life with us. Appreciated. Especially, the peace and natural beauty of your location. Especially how you meet the challenges of your location, as well.
Hi, guys nice to get another video so soon. Hope you catch some fish this weekend. Skeeter sure dose love it there looks like he is having a great time running around. See you Monday. 👋🏼
You have a good life up there in Minnesota, but I don't think I could take that kind of cold. We don't have that kind of weather in Kentucky! Lol. Love your videos, keep them coming.
⛔️ Our little Christmas Tree with the little gifts to unwrap were the best memories. Snowmobiles and stew. She made me put a little string of lights around our porch. Great idea and excellent pics : j
Hi Kyle and Cierra, good to see you both again. You're roof looks good as well as your wood rack. Skeeter sprints like a rabbit. Good luck on your fishing trip.
Thought it was cute when skeeter looked & waited for Sierra walking back to the cabin. It was almost like skeeter was saying “ you can do it Sierra, I’m waiting for you “. Sierra needs to get a snowmobile jacket & bibs so she stays a lot warmer. Don’t want her getting sick. Take Care Be Safe. 👍😊
It’s so cool that skeeter lets you guys live there with him! Lol he’s sure having fun up there. Love the projects and the peace and quiet around the cabin. Enjoy!
Nice video Kyle. Do you think you’ll need more firewood for this winter? Add planting 3-4 apple trees next spring to your “to do” list. In 10 years you’ll be happy that you did.
You’re such a hard working young man! Loved the way you carried the wood in one trip. Reminds me how I try to get all the groceries in one trip. Lol. But you are constantly busy!
Have fun ice fishing you two. I remember Cass Lake so frozen that people just drove their trucks on the ice to their ice houses. One day the lake looked like a parking lot. 😊 Had fun there. You can carry so much wood at one time. Cierra is blessed to have such a strong man. Love you two. ~Old Grandma~
You guys are awesome!! Definitely yes yes get her a tree 🎄 I’m loving watching you, thanks for letting me live vicariously through you!!! Some day we’ll do the same once our 7 year old graduates high school will get a place up north!
I’m surprised you don’t have a snow machine or a four-wheeler for the trips in and out. But I guess you’d have no place to keep it safe when you get to your truck, though. You could get a trailer for the truck, and haul it out I guess. That walk in and out looks nice though. We love MN but only visits in summer and fall, Voyageur’s National Park, Lake Kabetogama. God’s country, just beautiful. You are a hard worker who is living your dream, keep it up. Oh, and Ciera is a trooper, you take care of her! I enjoy all your videos. 👍❤️
Amazing you carried all that wood in stacked on one arm. Did you build that outhouse, it can't be too fun to go out in the cold though? Did you rig up another shower? I like your wood stand. Smart idea to build it yourself and save the money. Keeter is so much fun to watch, as he bounds through the snow. Thanks again for sharing your lives and posting. I wish I was physically able to do what you are doing. No one can ever call you two lazy. Can't wait for the next visit to your cabin, it is always fun, educational and interesting. Stay safe from the virus when you travel, my best friend just lost his Aunt from it. Be well. Enjoy the ice fishing with your dad.
Putting up the shields on the wall will reflect the any heat back that’s all since it is already built in to your stove. Nice stove I might add!!!👊🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Clever way to use the wood rack to hide the door. A heat shield would keep the logs from becoming overly dry. Thanks for the super video. have fun fishing.
Mmm walleye , I love the way you carried the wood . I did it the same only you doubled your capacity by having the end board to stack it much higher . Smart man , I will do it that way in the future . Have fun in the BWCA . From the cities .
Maybe get yourself a bunch of solar panels so can have all the power you could possibly need. Amazing place you have, keep up enjoying the life you are making.
Hey Kyle, 8" of ice over here at our place east of you on the GFT. Wife got her first Northern through the ice yesterday. Yep, when we go to town we have our lists and make everything count in one trip. Otherwise 60 miles round trip is a pain to forget an item. I should send you a short vid of a bull Moose walking right by our windows this fall. Take care! Hi to Ciera and Skeeter.
That was one of my main jobs back in the 50's & 60's . . . splitin' wood for the pot-bellied stove in our old farmhouse. It felt so good to put your backside up near that stove on a cold winter's day in Michigan.
PLEASE let me send you a good pair of gloves lol. Watching you work and hike without gloves reminds me of me 40 years ago, before I got two fingers frostbiten. Love your videos. Thanks
My stove is similar. It's a Blaze King and I can touch the sides when it's raging. Heat, like your stove, comes off the top mostly. Loved the day in the life-style video!
You two are living the good life with that cabin . I spent 2 winters finishing a cottage that i heated with a wood stove . Not as rustic as you have. Had a 200 amp service, phone, sat tv , internet etc . Couldn't afford to keep it .
Hey another Minnesotan. I'm in NE Minnesota here. I was wondering where you were. I thought you might be in Minnesota but I wasn't sure til now. You have a Beautiful place. Hug on Skeeter for me. Such a happy face.
I just found this channel this week, I've been binge watching since the beginning! Awesome content👍, you've convinced me to jump into this lifestyle. I'm moving to the U.P from Wisconsin this spring
Clean water and plenty of it: Fill your large utility plastic bucket or tub with clean snow and bring it in and you will put it in *a medium-sized* (40-qt) *stainless steel stock pot* (pricey) *with drainage faucet and handle.* Your medium-size stock pot is on a corner of your hot stove. You will fill the pot up and let it boil for 10 minutes. You will attach an inexpensive stainless steel braided hose from the stock pot faucet to your larger sealed/covered stainless steel or aluminum storage tank a few feet away from your stove. Your sterilized water will flow by gravity. Ideally, place a simple filter in line before the storage tank. Boom. Meanwhile, refill the stockpot with snow. Plenty of clean sterilized filtered water. You could just open a USPS PO box so nutbags like me could send you, private-like, good crap. But OK. You wanna do all the crap yourself, I get it. You could even put a splitter on your braided hose with a valve and run a line through your log wall out to your 2x2x4 ft aluminum feed trough where you take hot baths. I like it. Diabolical.
Hope you catch alot of walleye, that's my favorite to fish for as I go to lake Erie to fish. When you go back to the cabin you should find yourself a Charlie Brown Christmas tree and make a stand out of some small logs. Love your videos
Hope you had good luck fishing!! Looks like the shoe fix is good. We are home then heading up to our place next weekend. Time to populate the new generator shed and get the chain saw stuff out of the cabin. Also time to push back away for our cabin some brush and burn it. We look forward to your next videos. Take care. Oh - We have a Dyson Animal. Works good but does not like wood debris and leaves. I'd recommend an old school fuller push broom.

Nice trick!

That was some load of wood to carry at once. Good job.
My wife (farmer’s daughter) said she was carrying wood in like that in the 50s.
How much is land taxes there ?
I'm just binge watching your videos & enjoying your adventures!
Tummy rubs to Skeeter!🐶🐾💖
Take care & be safe!
I really enjoy your videos. Kinda jealous of the snow. Good luck with the ice fishing!! ♥️from Tennessee!!!
Such a wonderfully quiet place to live. In this noisy world that’s rare 😀
Hello Kyle and Sierra.... from 🇨🇦 British Columbia, Canada!👍🤓

Love seeing Skeeter just run and hunt for sticks
See everyone on Monday
What a wonderfully beautiful and quiet place. You are so fortunate. Take care to you both.

Love the wood rack ! You are lucky to live such a peaceful winter at the cabin.

Stack stones or bricks behind around the stove to store energy and at the same time get a shield
Great idea.
@@Brian-mp2mv not all rocks explode

Morning Kyle, nothing wrong with that firewood rack. Even got that Christmas wreath up, cool. I can see Springer Spaniel Skeeter enjoys himself.

Loved seeing Skeeter leaping through the snow! Nice video, thank you!
Enjoy watching your videos thank you take care.
Skeeter don't want to come in/ he wants you to come out. lol
Hope to see you at Red. Heading up tomorrow morning. Love the channel. Keep it up.

That synthetic sealing (chinking) foam gonna soften
Stopped the vid just to say that is one bad ass way to carry the split wood in. Nice!

i love how skeeter bounces around, to cute
Great place so quite, enjoy! Skeeter is so cute!
skeeter reminds me so much of my old dog snickers. so happy
So beautiful. You guys are in the perfect place to make real Christmas wreaths for family and friends. Get to work on that, Skeeter! 😁
Great idea! Sell them in town $20 each. Get wire frames at craft store and florists wire. Cierra.
Nice to spend some time with you and Serria... And of course Skeeter!
The way you stacked that wood on your arm was awesome..like your new wood rack
P. S. You can always pick up the rug and shake it outside

Great vid Kyle. And we love Skeeter
I was going to comment on your wood can, that the wood, would dry better in an open rack. You have already cured that. Great job.
hey from vegas you kids rock much love and respect to ya
My stove is similar. It's a Blaze King and I can touch the sides when it's raging. Heat, like your stove, comes off the top mostly. Loved the day in the life-style video!
I was on upper red Saturday... I hope you made a video of your icefishing adventure! We had fun and got a few!
Those look like boots my brother wore in air force at Minot North Dakota
I really like your videos. You are very in generous. I just love Setter.
You two are living the good life with that cabin . I spent 2 winters finishing a cottage that i heated with a wood stove . Not as rustic as you have. Had a 200 amp service, phone, sat tv , internet etc . Couldn't afford to keep it .
I always wear work gloves when handling wood to protect from those needle-like shards, and splinters jammed under finger nails.
you have a beautiful spot, enjoy!
An advantage to having a metal heat shield is that it will reflect the radiant energy back into the cabin area, thus keeps it warmer.
Ah yes the mighty walleye! I can hear and smell them frying in the pan! I really miss the perch we used to catch. Some darn fine eating. Good luck
Awesome channel! Watching from Ontario Canada 😊
Glad to see you guys back more often!! Keep them coming!
Thank you for the description/explanation of the heat shields. I wondered. Had not seen that design before.
Great to see you all hanging out at the cabin

you are doing a great job back there in the woods gotta hand it to you young people.
