If you want to check out Army reaction in their concerts, I'm recommend you check out their Speak Yourself tour in Brazil. Army was singing along throughout the whole show in Korean and it was incredible. Really really worth checking out.

BTS never lip sync at any cost..they do have a backtrack coz their choreography is insane! So they do need the time to catch their breath whenever they can so they use backtrack in low volume..but never lip sync..its just their pure talent!
Agreed. A lot of people also don't know that the backing track is needed so the stage lighting sequences can be programmed in. 😊

They do perform in 'soccer' stadiums, they performed at Wembley for 60,000 people (I believe they have done bigger venues as well), I didn't know about them then but I wish I had.
You said about not noticing if it was in English, lots of their songs are mostly in Korean but have some English mixed in. They also have songs that are in Japanese. Dynamite at this point is their only fully English song, but as they didn't write it I'm not sure if they'll do more.
Ok so they have only done online concerts during the pandemic, there is no way BTS would ever risk peoples lives. They literally had to cancel/postpone their whole world tour for this year, which they are not happy about because they love to perform for their fans but needs must as they say.
BTS don't lip sync but they do have vocals on the backing track because of their dancing but you will have noticed the singing on the track is at a much lower volume, also like when Jimin gestured for the crowd to sing his part you'll will have noticed that they don't lip sync.
Sorry if this sounds like my telling you off in anyway I'm not, I'm just telling you so you have some knowledge on these things.
The last (physical) concert I went to of BTS was their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself stadium tour at the Rosebowl in Pasadena. It was the best concert I had ever attended and that was my 3rd BTS concert! They out-do even themselves ALL THE TIME! The guy sitting next to me was about my age (mid-late 40's) only attended for his daughter. Saw what was going on around him, liked the music vibes, and was blown away with 70,000 people singing "You can't stop me loving myself!" and "I'm the one I should love." He turned to me and said that it was by far the best concert he had ever seen. I was so happy to hear that. He was giving me side glances of judgment in the beginning. After the concert he said "Now I understand why you like them." I always feel comfortable at concerts because I know ARMYs are beautiful souls just like the awesome men on the stage. I've never been into any one group or artist, or even style, until now. Good video guys!

Wait, do American artists lip-sync at concerts that I didn't know even I live here in America? That question threw me off because I never heard people say American artists lip-sync at concerts. I guess BTS are so good live that everyone who is new always think they lip-sync. I think people assume they can't sing because they are boy band. They have millions of fans for a reason not because they are cute. They don't have live band so they use back tracking but the vocals are tuned down so you can clearly hear their voices.
Britney lipsyncs her whole concerts. Actually every live performances. It's why some of her fans leaves the concerts disappointed.
Michael Jackson and Madonna lip synced during their concerts. It did not make the concerts less enjoyable. They are known to be amazing performers.

@7:00 lol John Cena is actually a HUGE fanboy of BTS for a very long time now and always takes the opportunity to drop knowledge about BTS’ message during his interviews. He even offered to be BTS’ bodyguard. This was a medley performance of songs so they didn’t show off the choreo for each song much. Hopefully you’ll get to see the full performances of each song esp the full “FIRE” choreo is INSANE🔥. BTS concerts are usually in 60-90k seated stadiums. They usually sell them out in less than 2 hours they have to add extra dates. I’ve been to CitiField and METLife stadiums in NY/NJ- The Energy is AWESOME!

I went to the METLife one last year with my sister in NJ. We went both days and had barricade both days as well. It was my very first concert ever and it's still the best two days of my life. BTS was amazing and army felt like such family. It was fun running into them in random areas because we were all preparing for the concert and we were trying to help each other out when it came to finding information. My sister and I even ran into two teen armys and promised their parents we would keep them company on the train to the venue xD

Trale, you are hitting the right notes for me in every BTS video 🤣 I really was embarrassed cause I did NOT know the lyrics, but I made sure to belt out the few English lines I knew and scream like I was on rollercoaster in all the in betweens. My husband definitely said it was the best concert he has been to by far when we went to MetLife last year, we were both only 1-2 months into BTS and I had not heard all of their albums. Anywho you both are a good mix of funny and serious 💜♾️

Having had the opportunity to see them live, i can tell you it is an exhilarating experience. I lost my voice yelling and think my face broke from smiling. i was 50 at the time. My son was pretty much in the same condition; he was 16. It is an experience you shouldn't miss, if possible.
I don't like crowds or parties but seeing BTS perform on stage and have fun makes me want to experience having fun with them too
The is from Love Yourself Speak Yourself The Final in Seoul. Dates were October 26,27,29 2019. I believe this clip is from day 3 (29th) which was their last stadium concert before the pandemic.
After this they did: 2019 iheart radio Jingle Ball LA concert (12/6), New Year’s eve NYC Times Square performance (12/31), 2020 Grammy Performance w/ Lil Nas X (1/26), Late Late Show - James Cordon (1/28) interview and debut performance of Black Swan, The Tonight Show Take Over (2/24) - full show featured BTS, subway interview and debut performance of ON in Grand Central Station, Late Late Show - James Cordon (2/26) Carpool Karaoke.

I've seen them early on at smaller venues and then all the way up to Soldier Field. I loved the stadium tours, but I do miss the smaller venues. All were amazing. 8 concerts, 2BBMAs and still holding tickets for 2 postponed concerts - I'm already old, but I'll hold onto these tickets as long as they let me. It's my light at the end of this long tunnel we've got going here.

This is the medley part of their concert where they freestyle across the stage to conserve energy. If you're interested, I hope you get to watch one of their concert performance where they perform a song fully.
The largest stadiums have played are probably the Rose Bowl (92,000+ seats) and Wembley Stadium (90,000+). Most times they play 2 concerts or more at one venue because they sell out so quickly (usually in well less than an hour).
Being on the front, like Eye to eye contact.. ugh.. that's what all ARMY bern dreaming for. 💜💜

We were at BTS concert last year in MetLife stadium. We had the best time! Best concert ever! I had to admit though.. as much as fun we had, I really got scared every time we jumped.... the stadium shook!!!

Please take note that BTS concerts doesn't have other performers as guests it is only them performing for almost two hours like other western artist. And once you invite BTS as guests on a show it becomes a mini concert not as guest. That is how good they are. That is why no matter how much their concerts tickets are sold out in a matter of minutes once it is available online.

I was at the Rose Bowl last year to watch them. It was amazing from start to finish we dance n sang our hearts out. It was the best concert I've been to. It was worth the $1500 it took to get use to California to experience BTS live. You have to go see them 1 time you will never see a better concert.

I'm not sure how it goes for you guys, but I can clearly hear if it is live or lipsync. For other groups too.
You can actually hear some sibilance especially when they are a bit short of breath or the "S" are strongly pronounced.
The backing track serve as a guide and provide them assistance when some problems arise, like audio malfunction(their in-ears doesn't work or became somewhat static and makes it hard for them to hear themselves). The backing track will help them be in tune with the song and also as additional harmonization.

I saw them in concert in NYC in 2019. The crowd is amazing and so nice. I was by myself. I got last minutes tickets to go with my daughter. The people I sat near were awesome!
This was not during the pandemic. They canceled their 2020 concert tour. They did do an online concert in October.
They never lip sync they sometimes sing each other verse
BTS ON ANOTHER LEVEL 🔥
What you've seen in 10 minutes, they do it in more than 2 hours of shows with complete choreographies like MIC DROP, Fake Love, Dionysus... But also impro like there, and they are always 100%. They are often exhausted but the stage is what they prefer, and the cancellation of the tour because of C19 was a blow to morale. For the assets seen at the Stade de France, it's just unbelievable. They transmit that energy. Not to mention the atmosphere with all the ARMY. It's a bit like the Hunger Games to get a ticket but it's worth it.
Their discography is so varied musically, touches so many subjects that you don't have time to get bored. I've been 35 years in the Army for 2 and a half years, and my mother for 1 year. They manage to bring the generations together because they are sincere. Sincerely offering complete mixtapes for free to their fans, few do. They are simply driven by music and as RM (the leader) said, it's the only way they have found to communicate!
Otherwise they're really bad at pretending to sing XD.
A crazy performance to watch is BTS MMA 2019. MMA is a year-end ceremony in Korea, which rewards musical artists. And since 2 years BTS are doing incredible shows. This one is certainly 40 min long, but it's just unbelievable to watch!

I was lucky to see them in 2019 at Soldier Field and it was nothing like I have ever experienced in a concert. 70k all singing together, celebrating love was beautiful 💜 I can’t wait for it to happen again! Lots of us are still holding our 2020 tickets and waiting for better days.
The 'Love Yourself, Speak Yourself' World Tour performances were 2 days stadium performances. This medley performance was at Seoul Olympic Stadium which sits about 70K. The stadiums vary, but Wembley for instance sits 90,000, but for concerts they have to block the stage section, so sits 55K which they sold out. Most of the stadiums sit 50K for concerts, this LY/SY tour sold 976,283 tickets, divide that out by the total concert dates. Their recent 2 day virtual concerts sold about the same amount!!
I'm 26 and I really regret not having a chance to see Michael Jackson live :( I saw BTS last year in Paris though (Halsey also performed with them), I traveled from Croatia with my boyfriend and we both had a blast at the concert. The crowd was amazing, we were at the Stade de France stadium and there were 80 000 fans there, and the concert was held for 2 days, on June 7th and June 8th, so 160 000 fans in total. A lot of my male friends have become BTS fans too. So I really think there's nothing shameful about liking their music if you're a guy. They're also really funny and I watch their variety shows with my boyfriend often since they're filled with comedy. It's okay to admire good artists, regardless if they're labeled as Kpop idols.

Re: Lipsync: no, they do not they always have the track in the background because they do not have live music playing (with instruments as a rock band would for example) so what you hear is the track with some sounds and they sing over it. Once you have hear their songs often you realize the live version sounds completely different and can recognize breathing sounds, growls, ad libs etc

They have backing vocals and backing tracks sometimes. Some people like it and some people don't. I don't care lol. They always sing live so if you hear anything else you know it's just the backing track.
Hi! Loving the reaction! Since yall are new listeners, I totally understand your questions and doubts if they are singing live or lipsynching! They are THAT good! However, once yall are more familiar with their discography, you'll be able to notice the different nuances and "oomphs" that happen when they sing live. I don't really know how to describe it, but there are instances where they purposely don't sing a specific line, in order to deliver a more impactful "oomph" (for example, @2:43). They also change some of the notes, sometimes more gritty, sometimes a higher note, etc. Anyways! I do hope y'all will continue to do more BTS reactions, especially live performances because those are my absolute favorite. You will never see a bad live performance, I can guarantee you that! BTS'S 2020 tour that was cancelled due to corona had sold 700k with just the united states. The tickets to a bts concert is like playing the hunger games. You click on a seat and while it loads it disappears as sold out. Floor seats can go upwards of $700. BTS never has an opening act and often perform 20+ songs. This medley is basically the cooldown period from the first round of opening songs with full choreo. To give an idea of stadium size, they have sold out Rose Bowl, Solider Field, Met Life and City field. There 2020 tour added Levi Stadium (home to 49ers) and cotton bowl in texas at that alone 90k seats. They also have not held any in person concert since the virus hit and it has been over a year since there last concert and feb since there last interaction in person with ARMY. they hold the world record for most viewed online concert at just over 900k where they performed 23 songs. BTS has often been accused of lipsync due to the high performance level. Suga put a silence to these rumors when during a live show he stopped rapping mid song and everything went silent. Hey guys, I was scrolling thru the comments and thought I should offer you some insights after a couple years being ARMY...
* if some comments seem rude, remember that ARMYs come from all lingual & cultural backgrounds. When English is not their native language, some ARMYs try to express disappointment without knowing how to nuance the language accordingly.
* BTS has truly been mistreated by a lot of people / organizations, and at the same time have changed people's lives, so a lot of ARMYs are very protective & some can take comments personally. Try to be patient. 😌

10:00 I have never been into their concert, but I studied it, we need have extra batteries, water, food, and throat candy, for BTS concert to survive. (And well of course they still kill us, but that's BTS everyday for us.) No really, we have UA-cam tutorials what to pack and how to pack your bag! (And what kind of a bag is also important! Full clear bag is the safest!) Like you need to prepare yourself for their concert! (Not forgetting your ticket and your Army Bomb).
You are going to get out there from without a voice, because you have sang all their songs with them AND the Fanchant parts in between their lyrics.. (Did I say you need to prepare ? You need to know those lyrics! AND fanchants all In Korean!)
Also many fans take gift packets about all of the 7, that include picture cards, stickers, pins and other small merch, or little bags of energy bar and throat candy with gift pictures - to GIVE AWAY FOR OTHER FANS!

Watching you videos reminds me of the personalities at home in Metro Detroit. I literally just suggested you watch Dope and you did a medley. Still, the MVs are an experience that you're missing. They all are purely, mind-blowing entertainment or they tell a story. Check out DNA, Blood, Sweat and Tears, BTS Universe which is a whole arc of music videos starting with I Need You and Unofficially ending with Fake Love. You should also check out their dance practices because the live performances only give you a taste of how good these guys can move. 💜

150,000 stadium sold out, they did solider field and one in New York. All sold out in the USA. I think they did those last year .

I'd recommend watching the MVs or dance practices for these too, as this is a medley so you're not getting the whole song.
The only thing bts can't do perfectly is LYP-SYNC😂
If they do you can hear the back tracks playing in low volume...or is it just them singing in a low tone like Jimin did earlier when you barely heard his voice on the bridge of Dope...

John Cena is one of the biggest - if not the biggest - celeb fan of BTS. xD
Just search "John Cena bts" on YT and you´ll see a ton of videos/interviews of him talking and fanboying over BTS. 💪
BTS does not lip sync for their live performances...you will see them lip sync when they are making music videos sometimes so you will see that in the clips and you can always tell because they are very bad at it....BTS is good at many things but they are not good at lip syncing. They will sometimes use a backing track especially when they have difficult choreography but you can certainly hear the raw voices over it. They few times they have not been able to sing because of choreography, lost voices etc they will try but if they can't they will just stop singing and not try to lip sync during these times either the backtrack will just play or another member will sing their part or ARMY will sing the part for them.
True I guess they don’t show the audience huh. And you know what. I’m grateful 😂 US shows miss half the actual show showing the audience when people pay to watch the show! 😂

Like others I also recommend checking out “Who is BTS?: The Seven Members of Bangtan (INTRODUCTION)". It does a good job of introducing each individual member and their role in the group. Because there are so many members this is VERY helpful for newcomers.
I also think it would be good for you to check out a few more music videos before watching the live videos. Subtitles ON! Their lyrics contain amazing messages about self love, being yourself, perseverance and growth, and the music videos enforce the meanings behind the lyrics. Since you guys seem to appreciate positive messaging I would recommend Dope, Idol, Not Today, Mikrokosmos , Jin's solo - EPIPHANY (I could go on forever but I'll stop there for now).
Spring Day is arguably their most meaningful song, but for that one you should watch "BTS Spring Day MV Explained". This is a song that deals with loss, grief, and finding closure but with an ultimate message of hope. The music video uses heavy symbolism and will hit a lot harder if you understand the meanings behind it.
Based on your specific backgrounds I would also recommend the DearClass2020 speech and performances.
Once you are ready for more live performances I would recommend checking out their NPR Tiny Desk performance, which showcases their stripped back vocals, and the MMA 2019 performance to see how truly EPIC their performances can be.

I know the lip sync question was asked in passing with no real weight to it. This question has always been asked particular from boybands from decades ago and a few other pop acts. It's never asked at any other time. Don't forget that some shows only have the capability to make you lip sync. In BTS case especially for their OWN concert, yes they play live backing track but their microphones are always on and sing and rap with it. You would know this is you knew their songs because you would know which parts they didn't sing. They end up omitting words or do adlibs. This part that you watched is the segment they call their Title Medley. Title means HITS/SINGLES. What you should have noticed is that they actually don't do any choreography so they can "rest" while they're doing their vocals. The last video was mature... this one... I'm starting to doubt.
You guys should watch thei dance practice so you can dance with them 😁💜
This is one of my favorite live performances. It's a song you have heard (no subs sorry) BUT the fanchants are amazing. ARMY are quite well known for our fanchants which are actual scripted replies to songs. And, of course, it's a great song...fun and full of energy. You have got to see the lyrics. Most songs have at least 3 levels of meaning.
1. Surface level--might sound like a romantic love song
2. Actually seems to be more about their relationship as a group or their relationship with Army

In the 12 to 18 months before Covid I went to over 30+ concerts ... My #1 is BTS. Their concerts are just on another level. It starts before the concert with a Fan Experience. They have sold out everything from the Rose Bowl to Wembley ... by the way when they sold out those they added a 2nd day and sold that day out too. They are also the only group that I know that could play pretty much everything off a new album and the fans are ok with it ... Their concerts are around 2 1/2 hours long with just them.

Haha, I could see you were kind of holding back from dancing. Also it's better if you don't make assumptions about people's gender without even seeing them. This medley is from their tour finale in Seoul last year. It was the biggest concert in Korea last year (you can google the stats) and not only BTS' devoted fans (male and female) attended, BTS' buddies, many male singers and actors who are fans of them, as well as ARMY dads with their families were fully in attendance and singing along. You might think we're nitpicking by correcting such small comments but so many articles or videos by (western) media erase male fans as well as other demographics (i.e. 30 yrs +, poc) huge significance in BTS' fandom because they don't fit nicely into the image that media wants to create about who is a BTS fan. But ARMY are fighting back (with a Census and other stats)
They never lipsync .They have special sounds at the background of the music to not to be hard them to sing and to make it even more better.
The term for that is backing track. It includes some limited vocal parts so they can take breaths in between the choreo.
a backing track is also very necessary for performances with many people like probably even just around 1k and of course we know they hold around 60k pax for concerts. ☺️

They actually run on treadmills during their exercise days and sing their songs while running so they can build up their endurance for their performances. It was mentioned on one of their interviews and their behind the scenes clips.
BTS never lipsync. In one of their live show, Suga purposely stop to rap in the middle during his part to show the audience that they ain't lipsync. That's how Suga savagely answer to the haters and the accusations of them lipsync. They're really good at singing live. By the way, I think you need to listen to their MV and lyrics video first before you move on to the live performance. Especially, lyrics are very important in every BTS's songs. You need to see it in order to appreciate it more. It was beautiful, poetic, meaningful and so empowering. So I hope you won't miss it.
Very expensive tickets get sold out in minutes for a lipsynching act? BTS doesn't lipsynch. Its rude to even suggest it when they were clearly singing live. They have some backtracks to help them with a hard set like this but their mics were fully on. Its different from lipsynching where your mics are offed and only your lips moved. Very common with current popular acts. Are they nervous? They have been performing for 7 years. They enjoy what they do.

And it’s unbelievable because their recorded songs sounds exactly like their live performances. And everyone in the western world is so used to lip syncing and over auto tuning with little to no dancing - it’s automatically assumed they do that because they can do both so effortlessly. But BTS is not everyone. They are kings. No one compares to them. No one. 💜💜💜💜💜🇨🇦
