Do Dragons fly using Magicka in TESV Skyrim?

Lets test whether Dragons fly using Magicka. When you use Shock based magic to damage a dragon while it is still in the air you can get it to crash land and not be able to fly anymore. Is this because the Dragons use Magicka and the Shock damage has depleted their Magicka?

I believe they fall from the sky after being reduced to less than 50% HP (ish). Sometimes they just land if there isnt room to play the crash animation. I rarely played mage characters in skyrim and could get the same effect with a bow. the 50% threshhold is marked by the little stun/roar that happens in your video

It seems like the eletric spells have direct hit when cast and fire spells have a "travel time" before hitting the target. In that case, it seems eletric spells are to be preferd. But I woulden't be supriced that I am totaly wrong. That have happened before. :)

Yes that is correct. Shock spells are instanct while fire and frost are slower to hit and so you have to learn to lead the target to hit with them at a distance. That is another reason why I prefer the Shock spells over Fire or Frost
