What do you use to get rid of weeds and dandelions? Is it safe if you use and chemicals and give clippings to children?
Nothing.i plant my garden real dense so there isn't much room for weeds and then I mulch real heavy too
Just a warning that they can easily get an impacted crop from eating grass clippings.
Been doing this forever and never had issues. I must have smart birds!
More so if the grass is several inches long. Shorter (2 inches and shorter) it’s not likely to happen.
I grow and juice wheatgrass for myself and now I cut it in 1” pieces and feed it to chickens.Occasionally I grow a tray for them and place it in the run.

I do let them out occasionally. But if I did it all the time the predators would get wise and kill them
