I don't particularly disagree, but what this game seemed to lack was solid lines of defence and tackling - that is where I think the women's game will develop - but great running open phases of play.
The laws seem to suit the game played by women better than the men's game. I have been watching men's rugby for a long time and it seems to me that the women's game is currently similar to that played by Wales in the early 1980s, which was the time that the men's game was most fun to watch.

Watching from NZ, that was the most clinical dynamic game I’ve ever seen the Red Roses play. Lovely to watch. The try scored by the debutant Westcombe- Evan’s I haven’t seen that exact same move since the Black Ferns used it against Wales in the last WRWC and Breach’s try was a peach. Mathews doing Mathews things and Harrison’s boot on point. USA played out of their skins as well and I thought the game was closer than what the game suggests. They certainly made England work for the majority of the match. Great to see this team progressing well under Sione Fukofuka.
The USA exposed a couple of defensive frailities which ENG will need to tighten up on because when the play the Ferns in a meaningful match they will certainly expose them.
It was a long way from the Roses first team, with tryouts and injury returnees (and no Marlie). The total co-ordination was not up to the usual standard. Regarding Argentina, Japan, etc.... in the men's game, they can win as a one-off; but going on to win consistently...? No, if anything, things are going backward: Australia are no longer serious challengers, for example. (Yet, they won the World Cup twice!) And in the women's game...? With the greatest respect to the wonderful playing of Holly Aitchison and having seen the recent game of the Roses v the USA, I have always had an issue with the primary weakness in the England squad and that has been a consistent fly-half but specifically with the kicking duties. We all know how very necessary that role becomes most especially when the outcome of a game depends on the fine margins of precious points both from penalties and try conversions. Step into the breach then, Zoe Harrison! Her performance in that area alone was impressive to say the least! My feeling then is that Zoe should be the ‘go to’ player if for nothing else but that task and in no way does that undermine Holly’s abilities and excellence on the field. Some nice tries by the Red Roses and the overall strength of the squad was too much for a spirited USA team. However, far, far too many errors. Three times in a row in the second half they allowed USA to get the ball from a restart after they had scored, indefensible. @@oldershikari828 I didn't: 1) No tradition of the game there. 2) Everyone knew who would win - by a substantial margin - before a ball was kicked. Unfortunate - but that's the reality.
Remember, this was the early KO (12:30 local time). There were many more by the time Canada played France in the second game of the day (which was also very entertaining).
It's the driving on the left side of the road that gives the English a distinct advantage, that advantage alone is worth 41 points... How many points did England win by?? Take out 41 points from the English side and that's your final score... I hope explained it scientifically and logically correct for everyone to understand. Have a good day everyone!
The win did not justify the Roses performance here. The USA were bigger and far stronger than the Roses and it was only their technical ability that let them down. A team to fear in WC2025 if they turn up. Highlight for me was our spot kicker, exceptional on the night but must keep it up and be consistent. The young guns acquitted themselves well getting tries between them. Outstanding solo tries for Jess and Ellie, but oh Ellie Kildunne, you ain't a 15 sweetheart, you got wasted by the Yanks. Maybe your best role is 13. My choice at 15 is Emma Sing. Only when the rear guard came on with 20 mins left did we notice the change in class, until then, for me, USA dominated 60 mins of that game. Bitch over, well done ladies and good luck against the Ferns because I think they may just take that game.
The fact that you use the term 'rear guard´ confirms to me that a) you know bugger all about rugby and that b) you may well having been watching a different game to the rest of us.
Fully agree. Ellie Kildunne is a lovely player but you are dead right, she is poor defensively and not a good 15. Emma Sing is the best English full back by a country mile, she can kick and score tries.
US Women's Rugby fails miserably on the social media promotional front. I am in Arizona and I can easily jump on youtube and within seconds be watching an interview with the newest flanker on the Sale Sharks or an expose on the front three of the Black Ferns. Yet I would have a long search to find something on an American Womans Team at all. Its a shame that I can so easily follow teams halfway around the world yet so limited exposure in my own backyard.
The Yanks were totally outgunned but fair play to them, they managed to score some nice tries. England's backs looked slick. RE: the channel admin. Thankfully, unlike the idiots who run the Men's RWC channel, you're not putting spoiler scores in the title or thumbnail, and creating chapters is good too.
Lots of points scored for the Roses, but a generally poor quality performance,if thats John Mitchells idea of ruthless and clinical he needs to hit the textbooks again.Fragile on the left edge again, and no forward dominance.Lucy Packer was poor.Lucky it wasnt the Black Ferns today, the Roses would have been soundly beaten.

The Red Roses have to play in empty stadiums because of "promoting" the game to please the Rugby hierarchy. Twice the team has gone to New Zealand in two major tournaments with only somewhere approaching a crowd when the game involved the NZ team. Now the same in Canada. Such tournaments should only be scheduled in countries that make the effort to fill their stadiums and stop virtue signaling..
So you only play in countries that already has rugby in it. Ok , how do you spread the game? How do you promote it in countries that do not have rugby? Tell us , oh wise one.

This is an experimental World Wide competition which includes many countries which are not traditional rugby players. The range from the very best to the worst is naturally wide. The top nations can play to full stadiums, and even domestic games in England have large crowds and some television coverage. There was a lot worth watching this weekend, e.g Netherlands v Samoa and the Japanese fighting to the end against a South African team that seriously outweighed them and had the advantage of a home venue. Crowds etc. do tend to indicate that women's sport is still not taken as seriously or supported as well as in the U.K. and some other nations. The point is--they want to play and they have been given the opportunity. Some of the U.S. team are keen enough to improve their game that they now play for English teams.
Great crowd turnout once again for women’s sport, the only times the stadiums have crowds in is when they give away free tickets when you buy a cheeseburger at MacDonalds, or give free tickets to schools and other establishments, hardly anyone wants to watch this rubbish eventually it will die a natural death.

You just copy and paste? Boring.

Shes a good player but I am really unimpressed by the american centre's shouting at the referee at 7:35
is this in the usa? there is only about 200 people in the crowd which would make sense there
Where’s the crowd ??
Yea. Found it weird that there was only 20 people there..
@@oldershikari828 I didn't:
1) No tradition of the game there.
2) Everyone knew who would win - by a substantial margin - before a ball was kicked.
Unfortunate - but that's the reality.
@@philfoster8789 Fair. I guess the sport has a way to go out there..
@@oldershikari828 Yeah... sadly, that's true.
Thanks for your (prompt) reply - and have a good day!
Remember, this was the early KO (12:30 local time). There were many more by the time Canada played France in the second game of the day (which was also very entertaining).
I have more respect for these lasses than them lads playing that shite nfl stuff

It's the driving on the left side of the road that gives the English a distinct advantage, that advantage alone is worth 41 points... How many points did England win by?? Take out 41 points from the English side and that's your final score... I hope explained it scientifically and logically correct for everyone to understand. Have a good day everyone!
I find womens rugby a lot more entertaining than womens football,
Where is the crowd ???????
It seems unfair as the English seem twice the size of any opposition.
WXV venues look like during pandemic. 😐
Poor attendance.
I shouldn’t be like that.
But it will be... until the games are no longer processions! (I've no interest - until the games become more competitive...)
Can't be many women in the US who play RU. I wonder if any play Rugby League?
There's nearly 12000 registered female RU players in the US. It's most popular in New England, Colorado and California.
@@justonecornetto80 wow, that's far more than I would have thought
Why play fake scrum rugby only Australian interested in when you can play real rugby
Why was the Wales vs. Australia game blocked after i made a comment about wales win not being uploaded while the game that Australia won was uploaded.
Wat u smoking?
The Yanks were totally outgunned but fair play to them, they managed to score some nice tries. England's backs looked slick.
RE: the channel admin. Thankfully, unlike the idiots who run the Men's RWC channel, you're not putting spoiler scores in the title or thumbnail, and creating chapters is good too.
Why hold this in such a massive stadium which just looks empty?
Due to Rugby having serious delusions of grandeur!
The excitement of Rugby played by women is evident by the huge crowds here. Not! Like watching paint dry.
Packed house hey.
la France qui régresse..! les nuls ne sont pas sur le terrain..!

It was team with debutants, resting key players, trying new plays. Do you not understand? By the way NZ were beaten by Ireland.
@@johnseabrook1703Here here! I second that. Dispite the missing veteran leadership and strong presence of rookies on pitch, this squad would have given anyone in the world a run for their money.
@@johnseabrook1703 well obviously, but it didnt look like new plays and the debs' played well.the result of the Irish game has no bearing on the Roses game.
Who is concerned about playing the Black Ferns ? Not England as they have beaten them 3or 4 times since the World Cup. Even the Irish beat them. Canada will be a good match up.
More skill and action than an American f**tball game. So where is the great American sports supporters???????
Agreed...... American football is all about entertaining and getting good money but the overall is nothing compared to the Mighty Rugby 👊
😂 what does another sport have to do with this match? Stop letting things live rent free in your head.
US's first try made the English fullback look rather simple!

Exhibition game
Imagine if England had fielded their best team... A three-figure score, maybe?
What's the point?!
An entertaining, not completely one sided game giving opportunities to squad players. I enjoyed it.
