Hey Joel, my friend lived right out side of the old city. I miss that place. I miss going to the wat on the mountain and going to the night bizarre when I was there, I had such a wonderful time and learned a lot about that culture from the gatoi which are men dress like ladies and their performers they sing a lot of American music but it’s all lip sync but these very elaborate, beautiful clothing and who is quite entertaining I love the Tom Yum soups, but man they’re a lot of work. You gotta pick out the lemon grass and you got a peel the shrimp or chew it off the bone but grade soup I also like their version of fried rice with the condiment vinegar with the hot peppers floating in it
Can you do a challenge without swallowing like actually eat without water? Don't others do real eating challenges or does everybody use this trick. How do you normally eat or are you Habituated to swallow with fluids now?
I like that Joel isn't tied down to expectations of what stuff is supposed to taste like according to recipe. When he accurately critiques the green curry, saying this is Not green curry, But he still liked it... I was impressed by his versatility to embrace the unknown. So long as food doesnt show up spoiled or uncooked, it's hard to displease Joel. He genuinely likes food no matter how it comes
I think it might be a linguistic problem (meaning that it is that some Thai might not know perfect english - myself inclueded not that I am a Thai by the way). But most of us when we see "Steak buffet" we normally think beef steak and so on, here it seems like it is all food buffet. Mr Hansen is such a gentleman and eats what is offered.
Best grape tomatoes I’ve ever had was 7th grade science class. Our teacher had a little pond with some fish and a few tomato plants. The tomatoes with salt and pepper were incredible. It was indoors in Big Piney; Wyoming. Idk why but they were fantastic
Reminds me of an Asian restaurant where my son ordered the pork chop. Surprised when we were served chopped pork and told that's what the "pork chop" was.
Kind of like steak houses....don't necessarily have the best item being a steak ...they just so happened to name alot of things something something steak at this place though...so in reality can't be too mad ... A+ for creativity huh lol
Hey Joel, I too love pineapple and I recently tried putting lemon beer salt on it and man it was mind blowing! I know you have a very salt forward pallet, YOU HAVE TO TRY IT!!!! Would love to see your reaction!
Hi Joel, I really love the vlog parts at the end, it's such a fun vibe seeing these places that'll I'll probably never see in person so thanks so much for taking that little extra bit of time to share the views and experiences. Buffet looked at the start in much need of refreshing lol. But you had some nice looking food in the end. Have you ever tried Custard Apples? They are quite the delicious experience there flavors almost a mix between a Persimmon and a Banana super interesting. Have an amazing rest of your week.
Just a couple points First Joel has a way of explaining food that simply gravitates one to watch the video to the end. Secondly if they had an establishment like this one in America with a $10.00 Buffet I would definitely try it after watching this video. I had 2 friends visit Thailand just last summer and they loved the food. Great Video.
My suggestion is to bring a scale to weigh the food as you eat and to weigh the scraps and plates afterward. The cut in your mouth is an abscess. Rinse frequently with filtered warm salt water.
Nice video Joel ! It's been a while, but last time I was in Thailand. I would eat at decent restaurants with my wife's family, there was 12 of us. It cost about $12.00. I left a $2.00 tip once and all the family went wild thinking I was foolish for tipping so much. One of my wife's friends ran a small travel company and had a diesel Toyota van. We traveled with the whole family all across the country, from north to south, for 4 days. Many family members had never been away from home. Many had never seen an elevator or even been to the ocean. We all could picnic in the countryside for.$5.00. We all could stay at a nice hotel for around $40, That was for 3 rooms. All the women wanted to stay in one room, kind of like a slumber party. This was back in 2000. I would imagine if we were all American, the prices would have been much higher. Everyone had a fantastic time and it didn't cost much more than a few hundred dollars.. Many fond memories. I have some videos of this trip on my channel.
Looks a lot like small town buffets in the Midwest. Sometimes the food stays out until it's gone or almost gone before they replace it. It's cheap but if that's what you can afford, that's where you're feeding the family.
He’s in Thailand! Food is very cheap there, but $10 for an American style steak buffet would be low even in Thailand. For this type of food it is pretty normal depending on what part of the country you are in. Beautiful country, very friendly people!
Love you, Joe you try any and everything and it helps me I live by curiously do you I appreciate you sharing. May God bless you continue your success and yeah, you have me thinking that it was gonna be yuck. Glad it turned out for you. Love you keep doing what you’re doing smooches.❤🎉🎉
Hey Joel don’t know if you have been before but would love for you to do a Cambodia / Vietnam season I have heard so many good things about the food in both counties
Perhaps they weren't gonna put out something new until customers came in because if they have a lot of stuff out and no one eats it it will all go to waste
🌴 Ahhh, bro the steak there comes from over the hill water buffalo, they tenderize it by marinating in some baking soda , the good part of a lot of over seas Asian buffets you can sometimes get some really good cooks that are good at certain dishes , usually the pizza over there sucks 😏
I know you enjoy your gym workouts as well Joel, so whilst you've been in Thailand or visited in the past, have you ever visited 'Fitness' Street there?
hes in thailand this is on the higher end of food. usually a meal in thailand would cost around $4-6 in USD. simple deduction.....watch the video before you comment.
Thats kinda normal. Steak places here dont really do like American sytle plaaces eith huge steaks because of the price gap. Like even sizzler has small steaks and Jeffers. There is a lot of stuff thats different such pizza here or even like hotdogs they dont come with hotdog buns or anything. Its set for their style not catering to the west. Btw 10 bucks for a buffet is kinda expensive here also thats what about 1.000 baht you can eat for a few days on that price when you think a meal is fifty to sixty baht. Normal buffet even in malls are about 500.
You also got to think that is a luxary to most a lot of people you see working mad hard at 711 or otger places are making like 10.000 - 20,000 a month and they got to pay rent and stuff so doesnt leave them with much. Pork is also way bigger here and chicken than beef. Things like milk and bread arent super popular like it is to us.
its the same thing going to like America and mexico thinking you are getting real thai food lol. Last time was in America i went to a few thai places and they are not even remotly close and the cost was insane for what it was. Got to remember its just different pallets and cultures. Get a hamburger in japan most of time not a hamburger like we think of it mostly a burger paddy with curry lol

All meat is great, lol! In order of favs is chicken, pork, then beef.

Dog meat is cheap in Thailand!
@@girsharma2076 without swallowing? How can anyone do that?
You're having fun, travelling, eating and being free. What could be better. Hope your cut heals quickly.
Always keep an open mind when eating in a foreign place. The chicken and pork staek looked good and Thais always love their fresh veggies
Nice to see and be educated with the history of different places you visit thanks a lot❤.

$10 CAD barely affords you a burger here in Canada. Honestly, if one dish is tasty, then it's worth it.
Agree I liked it
$10 is not enough for a shawarma in Canada.
I agree. Can’t even get a value meal in US for under $15 and even that leaves you hungry. Find a dish and go to town.
@@cliftonmcmullen7167 ayce buffet in vegas is $15usd
I would definitely eat there
You are always very polite and generous with your compliments ❤ great videos ❤

For $10, absolutely bomb assortment.

If Seth Rogen is ever unavailable to voice Frank the sausage, Joel is the clear shoe-in!
Omg he does sound just like him! He looks like Brad Mondo though lol
Thanks for another video. 11:20 I just learnt you can eat water melon seeds. I've been spending 90% of the time eating melons removing the seeds!
I've never seen a 10 dollar buffet in 60 years.

Hey Joel … what do you expect for $10.
You can’t even get a $10 combo meal at a fast food restaurant anymore
not sure if you watched the video. spending $10 in thailand is much more than $10 in america
I would expect not food poisoning 😂😂
Seems he was rather happy about it if you watch.
They did have one of his favorites, ''The extra long hot dog'' which could explain the throat irritation.

Joel, I love watching your channel. Continue keeping up the good work. I can't wait until you come back to Mississippi.❤
Peaches are my favorite pineapple comes second! Great presentation as usual Joel!
🤣I think they meant “we have steak at this buffet” not literally an “all u can eat beef steak buffet nothing but beef steak”
LOL
Something was lost in translation. 😂

jOEL YOU SHOULD DO YOUR OWN SAUCE COMBOS, YOUR COMBOS ARE ON POINT EVERY TIME I TRY THEM.
Is there anything that you don’t like eating?
Shall I send you some jars of English mustard 🤣
So when you go to a buffet, how do you know when to stop? OR do you don't stop until you are cut off?
Love ❤them, cherry / grape tomatoes 🍅
Really cheap. When you think that you eat like 4 people.. It's a gift.
It's Thailand. 10 is appropriate.
Didn't even blink while eating the watermelon seeds. Bravo, sir! I like it!

They should at least change out the pans. I worked a salad and soup bar when in my teens and I never allowed the bar to look like that 🤷♂️
Garbage can by the table is ghetto. I would nope out at that point 😂
That was a nice looking salad steak, and the tomato steaks looked like they were to die for! 😶
I think they probably meant "American fried rice" but misspelled fried.
