    tem does not produce 3d images

      TEM can provide high resolution views of the object which are very small in size. TEM can provide 2D image directly which is a limitation. But this can be overcome and 3D representation of the sample can be obtained by acquiring consecutive images while rotating the specimen through a tilt arc. Of course, it requires very high precision and hundreds of images need to be taken and then with the help of computer, 3D image can be constructed.. The drawback is, transmitting electron beam multiple times may affect the sample’s structure..
      In one more approach, the sample stands still while the microscope sends two beams of electrons tilted against each other, and two detectors are simultaneously used to record the signal. Approach used combination of scanning and transmission electron microscopy to get a 3D image with less number of images.. Here, the sample is exposed to electron beam less number of times so will not get affected…
