I didn't realize you are able to connect a Dashbox AND an OBD2 device to the RealDash for acquiring vehicle! Wow this is going to solve so many headaches I was anticipating :)
Great video and of course, an awesome car! Can you please explain how you managed to get the NSX logo to appear on boot-up? I can see where to upload a file under 'application' but my jpeg doesn't appear. Any help would be appreciated - thank you.
@@FirstLast-tx3yj Yes, the image is easily done. My file was getting corrupted when transferring from phone to tablet. Getting it to start-up is also not too difficult. Use the app Macrodroid and configured correctly, the tablet will start-up in the app when powered on via the car's ignition and USB cable.
Hi, did not thought of making a kit out of this but I still have the cad files and can cut another adapter, you can reach out to me on nsxprime, below is my entire build thread. Since this vid I made few improvements. www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/213126-NSX-Virtual-Display-on-RealDash-app/page2
Hi, to display seat belt, turn signals, high low beam or any other indicators you will need module like "dashbox" it will tap in to the indicator wires and send signal over Bluetooth to tablet. obd2 will not send the signal, at list on older cars. The brand new 2021 cars might send it over can-bus but I don't know that for sure.
Hey bro, I have it also installed on my galaxy Tab 7. Yet, for now still without the SP Leinonen. But I do have one of the best obd2 plugs installed with it. So they say. The ObdlinkMX+, Bluetooth version. But still, from time to time the bluetooth connection drops. Which is very annoying. Because, I have to re-enter certain values like the odometer. Is there a way to connect the tablet (usb c) with a wired obd2 plug for a constant and steady connection? I have already tried it with some aftermarket obd2 cables, but it seems as if there is no data transfer. Thank you in advance, bro👍 Greetings from the Netherlands.
Yea, I hear you. I went through several bluetooth devices and all had same issue, either they would drop time to time or would be delayed in sending data. The only true real time that I seen is from Dashbox. They used to have a older version that would connect over serial cable to usb connector on the tablet that worked but now they moved fully to bluetooth from what I can tell. Yea, I seen some serial cables circulating on ebay that would connect to tablet directly but reading from other forums they don't quite work. You can go to realdash forums www.realdash.net/forum/ and look around there. I seen some very custom builds. But the easiest way would be Dashbox.
I have J32a2 engine swap from 2003 Acura CL type S, so it has obd2 port. But dashbox can wire in directly to inputs and send it over bluetooth with out obd2 port. I'm using both for more input displayed.
Turn signals will not work unless you have a canbus car that supports it. I use dashbox to tap in to turn signals and send it over to realdash, same goes for fuel. But fuel does have good estimate based on gearing and tire sizes, if you enter all the information correctly it should be close but not actual.
hello apine Fab, first of all it is a pleasure and luck to have a person like you, and I have read the entire forum and you always answer, I am from Spain, I use the Google translate to English, I want to share my story and see if you can help me . I try to make a painting with a tablet just like you, with the application it is as fabulous as realdash is, so as not to bother so much, don't you have an updated page or somewhere that explains step by step how to do it? It would be very important because it creates a lot of doubts in me and I am very excited to be able to do it. Would you send the explanations and doubts by email or some other method? It is just to try to have all the data that I need saved, thank you very much and congratulations, your post has made me very happy, because nobody explains it better than you. Thanks a lot.
@@marceloortega5523 I install it few years back so I might forgot some details but the process was straight forward. All the info that I needed I found on realdash.net forums.
