    I didn't realize you are able to connect a Dashbox AND an OBD2 device to the RealDash for acquiring vehicle! Wow this is going to solve so many headaches I was anticipating :)

      Also how the hell did the tablet starts with the car directly in the application??

      @@FirstLast-tx3yj Yes, the image is easily done. My file was getting corrupted when transferring from phone to tablet. Getting it to start-up is also not too difficult. Use the app Macrodroid and configured correctly, the tablet will start-up in the app when powered on via the car's ignition and USB cable.

    Hi, how did you get RealDash to show the high beam/door open/indicators etc? Is that through OBD2 or some other type of module? Looks amazing! Cheers

    • @winreboot
      @winreboot  3 роки тому

      Hi, to display seat belt, turn signals, high low beam or any other indicators you will need module like "dashbox" it will tap in to the indicator wires and send signal over Bluetooth to tablet. obd2 will not send the signal, at list on older cars. The brand new 2021 cars might send it over can-bus but I don't know that for sure.

    Hey bro, I have it also installed on my galaxy Tab 7. Yet, for now still without the SP Leinonen.
    But I do have one of the best obd2 plugs installed with it. So they say.
    The ObdlinkMX+, Bluetooth version.
    But still, from time to time the bluetooth connection drops. Which is very annoying. Because, I have to re-enter certain values like the odometer.
    Is there a way to connect the tablet (usb c) with a wired obd2 plug for a constant and steady connection? I have already tried it with some aftermarket obd2 cables, but it seems as if there is no data transfer.
    Thank you in advance, bro👍
    Greetings from the Netherlands.

      Yea, I hear you. I went through several bluetooth devices and all had same issue, either they would drop time to time or would be delayed in sending data. The only true real time that I seen is from Dashbox. They used to have a older version that would connect over serial cable to usb connector on the tablet that worked but now they moved fully to bluetooth from what I can tell.
      Yea, I seen some serial cables circulating on ebay that would connect to tablet directly but reading from other forums they don't quite work. You can go to realdash forums www.realdash.net/forum/ and look around there. I seen some very custom builds. But the easiest way would be Dashbox.

      I have J32a2 engine swap from 2003 Acura CL type S, so it has obd2 port. But dashbox can wire in directly to inputs and send it over bluetooth with out obd2 port. I'm using both for more input displayed.

      Hallo, sorry, ich spreche kein Deutsch, ich habe gerade Google übersetzen verwendet, um zu finden, was Sie in Ihrem Kommentar gesagt haben und es zurück zu übersetzen. Das Tablet verbindet sich drahtlos über blauen Zahn mit einem OBD-Port. Ich habe benutzerdefinierte Halterung, um das Tablet in den Strich passen. Sie können es nur testen, indem Sie die RealDash App herunterladen und Ihr Telefon mit dem Blue-Tooth-Obd-Port verbinden. Es funktioniert auch mit den billigen Häfen von ebay. Es gibt Verzögerung in einigen Messgerät ausgelesen, so habe ich dashbox verwendet, es ist ein Modul, das direkt an Sensoren drähtet und sendet das Signal über blauen Zahn zu. Hoffe, dass dies hilft, wenn Sie irgendwelche Fragen haben, lassen Sie es mich wissen.

    • @winreboot

      Turn signals will not work unless you have a canbus car that supports it. I use dashbox to tap in to turn signals and send it over to realdash, same goes for fuel. But fuel does have good estimate based on gearing and tire sizes, if you enter all the information correctly it should be close but not actual.

      hello apine Fab, first of all it is a pleasure and luck to have a person like you, and I have read the entire forum and you always answer, I am from Spain, I use the Google translate to English, I want to share my story and see if you can help me . I try to make a painting with a tablet just like you, with the application it is as fabulous as realdash is, so as not to bother so much, don't you have an updated page or somewhere that explains step by step how to do it? It would be very important because it creates a lot of doubts in me and I am very excited to be able to do it. Would you send the explanations and doubts by email or some other method? It is just to try to have all the data that I need saved, thank you very much and congratulations, your post has made me very happy, because nobody explains it better than you. Thanks a lot.

      @@marceloortega5523 I install it few years back so I might forgot some details but the process was straight forward. All the info that I needed I found on realdash.net forums. It sounds like you want turn signals and all indicators to work. For that you will need dashbox, it's a device that takes analog signals from sensors or indicators and sends the signal over Bluetooth to tablet. It comes with install instructions, basically you find your indicator wire and tap in to it. Realdash knows the device and you can link it for any display that you want. You can start simple and just get odbc Bluetooth connector that will send information over Bluetooth from your car, but the information displayed is usually delayed for stuff like RPM but it's fine when reading coolant temp for example. Dashbox not only allows you to add other things to be added but it also streams the data in real time, so like RPM read out is displayed with out any delays. Everything is customizable so each setup is little different, but if you want indicators and real time read out you will need dashbox, here is link for it shop.protoparts.fi/product/630/sp-leinonen-dashbox?fbclid=IwAR2zPDjIqfPuhdtyzInzZz_8xTdUIaEREYM5MjuPSyM3xIEanQNVNrXnv_U and you will also need any odb2 reader that will give you read out from your engine and any engine codes if you want, any ebay ones work fine, I used OBDLink MX+ but any ebay closes work just as good, they all had noticeable delay and the issue was not in Bluetooth but in the engine ECU can't stream multiple channels fast enough so don't spend too much on odb2 reader ;)

      Hi, I used "dashbox" for additional inputs. It's a device that wires in directly to your harness then will send the inputs over bluetooth to the tablet in Realdash app. You can get dashbox from facebook.com/sp.leinonen.9 it's very easy to setup too.

    • @winreboot

      No, I don't need to turn it on, it turns on automatically and it opens with Realdash. I'm using macrodroid app to have the tablet autologon and open realdash when it notices being charged. When I turn ignition on it starts charging the tablet, so it all works automatically.

    • @winreboot
      @winreboot  4 роки тому +1

      @@Syntax152 The tablet is always in sleep mode and wakesup using "macro" app when notices power and unlocks the tablet and opens realdash. It happens very fast. If I don't start the car for 2-3 weeks it will drain the tablet battery and then the first time it starts it will take about a minute to bootup and it will charge the tablet as I drive. Reading inputs from obd port is great but on older cars like my it's delayed and annoying. The dashbox is a must have as it will port over any input to realdash in realtime no delay over bluetooth. Here is what I'm using.
