Good subject and well done for tackling its complexity. But you have talked about two dynamics: psychiatry and psychology when psychotherapy is the deepest investigation. Try seeing ‘A Matter of Heart’ about the founder of psychotherapy, Carl Jung. William Shakespeare summed up the overall position of being human well. ‘Man, proud man. Dressed in a little brief authority, most ignorant of what he is most assured, his glassy essence, like an angry ape, plays such tricks before high heaven, as to make the angels weep.’ ❤

There's truth in the idea of a Karma, because aspects of it exist, so it gives the illusion it's real.
As with anything it's important to incorporate what's true and reject what's not.
From a personal experience I've realized that, it's not proven subjectively either.
For example I give people money and nobody gives me money. There has been no major improvement in finance for example. Typically it's been more regressive.
There's also the fact that since I rejected the idea of karma, it's been easier to help people.
Even though I know it's not real I wish it was because the world would be a lot better place. We will not have nowhere near the problems we do today and we would have been much further

Karma does not exist but there's always interesting discussions related to it.. If it did the world would be a lot better place.
There would be a lot more justice for example. You wouldn't see all the people getting away with the stuff they do along with living some of the best lives in the process, such as Mafia leaders, politicians, bankers, and so on
The people who are doing the right things in life such as helping people along with being compassionate, would be getting ahead, versus taken advantage of. This will be the majority of people in power along with those who live the best lives. However this isn't the case.
As for reincarnation nobody really knows. Reincarnation is possible without karma, even though it's usually tied together.

Would theosophy also be the following: The body passes on, then that person wakes up in an earlier timeline that they remember living in, AND they remember dying in a much later stage of the very same timeline /lifetime. All confused this person starts to experience visions, which they first might think was de ja vu, but it turns out these visions are events that are still going to take place. They figure out that they are reliving their lives, and with this knowledge, they decide to take the memories (visions) they have access to and change their current life experience. To them it feels like they are having a so called "second chance". Much later in their life, they start seeing more memories (visions), and of course, they started looking into history , books and even try find other people just to find out what it is that they are currently experiencing , but unfortunately realize they are in what feels like a timeless loop of reincarnation. This leads them to the idea of "how do I escape this," but to no avail do they find the answer to ending this....play?

there is no escaping our destiny. we are born into a living universe, and we will play our part as long as it takes

My take is that Time is linear - you don't get to reincarnate backwards in Time. The evolutionary process of itself - of the Soul/Spirit - always goes forward.

@@cango5679 Time in only linear in our physical dimension.
The eternal spirit that resides in our physical bodies exists OUTSIDE of time, so yes, all of your lifetime are happening simultaneously both forward and backward

@@steviechampagne Yes, of course - I'm referring to the manifested physical world - the only world we re-incarnate in, as the word states... Not sure what you mean with "lifetime" - because the term - which includes "time" - usually refers to the physical life time experience, and I don't see that occurring back-forth etc. Spirit in it's own plane is timeless, of course. But we, that posts here on UA-cam, have a way to go before we can be at-one with our Souls, let alone with the Monad/Spirit.

Thank you both for your input, I appreciate it. Regarding the use of the word lifetime, it was used to describe that specific life experience the person remembered having before. I couldn't think of another term myself.
