For Don Quixote it was inevitable due to his character flaws. Sancho got to live on the dream due to the 12 Sinners who she deemed family members. To summarise, if Don Quixote's family had truly sought to support his ideals as vehemently as Sancho did, then perhaps it could've succeeded or at least meet a less gruesome end. There's a lot of people who might be making breakdowns of Canto VII now--but you can check out Tsunul's since that's the only one I know of.

Which indicates that no matter now many visitors La Manchaland got, there was never enough blood for the whole family, that's why Hemobars were made, so they could effectively feed everyone. But of course to a normal Bloodfiend, Blood isn't for hunger. Drinking blood directly from a person would give them something like euphoria which is why it's so addicting to get blood, even if they aren't hungry. Let me remind you that Sancho is a Bloodfiend too, but she doesn't require blood due to her unwavering love for her father, Don Quixote. Which is why I mentioned if all the Kindred+ their Bloodfiends had followed Don Quixote as vehemently as Sancho, then they wouldn't even need blood to begin with

IDC if it'd "be to easy" or whatever excuse you could come up with, I just wanted to have a story-accurate fight, since ji hoon is so insistent on making us feel like we're fighting well above our paygrade
Using Id on Don pretty much bypasses the psychological lock of rebellling against higher grade kindred Moses talked about at the beginning of the canto given how shes not a Bloodfiend in the Id's
