Recent Dam Removals on Elwha River demonstrate strong trends for half-pounders within the now mouth to tributaries for spawning habitat. Native Steelhead which can get highest gravel beds and spawning sites in the watersheds as they can leap so well, have quick to respond upriver use for spawning higher in the watershed. Steelhead , now are known to adapt for freshwater to saltwater conditions, spawn, then survive to reproduce again,
Beautiful, healthy fish that is a cast as no casts means privacy, access to holding cover, hot riffle thriving in oxygen rich water, still feeding, so hits can be few and far between. Great access hope large schools of same age fish, waiting for higher flows and fall/winter rains.

Native Onchorhynchus mykiss in interior Olympic Mountains retain Native rainbows, while in Crescent Lake of Olympic National Park harbors another endemic Trout Species of similar lineages. Lake Crescent was said to be isolated through a Volcanic-Seismic Events leading to the present condition according to localized Tribal Peoples including the Skallam Tribe. Bull trout have, also, been shown quick to recover in Elwha Fishery.
lovin the reports boys heading up to the stream this weekend we are gona bring my 5 weight fly rod but i have no clue what were doing lol we also have conventional gear as our go to we fishing it all eggs beads spinner spoons and plugs LOL wonder how this little rain will do to the water clairity

@@ConfluenceOutfitters ended up postponing due to the weather that was forcasted we will try our luck later this season jan and feb went to lake amador for some lighting trout lol
And do steelhead go all the way up to Redding in the sac river or do I have to go down to red bluff or something?
Some steelhead make it up to Redding but many more are caught below Battle Creek.
Can you guys list off any good fishing trails on the trinity river? I’ve never been cuz I’m from Redding and don’t know where on the trinity to go for either steelhead or salmon from the bank.
There is a ton of excellent access on the Trinity, much of it right along Highway 299. Also try some of the side roads in Lewiston and Douglas City.

I’m in NorCal without a boat. What’s a good river/area to fly fish.
Alex, there are a lot of great fisheries to walk and wade! The Upper Sac is hard to beat due to so much access existing. Virtually every exit from Dunsmuir down I-5 has access. There are also a few access points on the Lower Sac that you could reach in Redding due to the lower flows right now.

You can't really give weekly "river report" when it's your first time fishing a river.....
Most of the time we have weekly river reports from our guides who fish a lot. Sometimes it’s fun to have reports from people who aren’t on the river all the time too :)
