God, this game seems like it could be so much fun. Nice video, my dude! If only I was part of a group that could make the best of this kind of thing! :D
Ikr. Although, I feel that most of the pages are dedicated to lore. But still, the combat rules are anything but light if the actual abilities are varied and numerous.
@@knightsaberZ42 Its not just this game. I don't think many TTRPG Creators today even have any concept of Rules Lite - let alone any ability to build it. Lancer is a very cool world and quite unique. Thanks again for a banger review!
@@knightsaberZ42 Some time back, I GMed a Lancer campaign (it's on this channel, but it's in Portuguese), and the first combat took me about 3 hours. So I went to the Lancer Discord in search of some wisdom to make the game go faster. When I told them that combat for 5 PCs took 3 hours, they were amazed-usually, combat for 5 PCs can take up to 4 hours or more. Lancer would be a great computer game, but even using VTTs and heavy automation, it’s still too damn slow.
Great review. It's a beautiful book but wow is it dense. I keep thinking of snagging this but I don't think I'd ever have a player-base patient enough to play it. I think if someone is making a mech game they should just accept that it's not possible to make it "rules lite."
yt needs more lancer content. preferably an actually good campaign to watch? please, anyone.
@@socialdistancing1289 best I can do is a solo play, lol
Fantastic Review. Thank you.

Keep it coming, these videos will be good reference material for years to come.
@@BenWillyums thanks! I really appreciate it.
I think it is absurd that they claim "Rules Lite" on a 430 page book.

A Rules Light game where a normal combat can take up to 3 hours!
@@PorumPunhadodeDados-Streams Wooow! That's insane!
