Some youtubers who talk of their own lives attract those types who used to watch Coronation Street, East Enders etc...they are right there in the lounge and some get so caught up in the stories they can't differentiate between themselves and the story teller...like they make them family or friends who they feel they can judge as their own (not that that is right either, but humans judge). Do you recall how Dirty Den got loads of death threats? People get lost in their own beliefs and you are right there in their house. I know it is insane, but, don't ever take it personally. It is about them not you. Also, if there is a bully or narcissist, he/she will spot any 'vulnerabilty' in a person being natural, open and caring.

I find single tasking rather than multi tasking so much more rewarding as it gives me more focus and lessens the feeling of being overwhelmed by a big to do list.

So glad you're back! Glad that youtube started having your very old videos pop up from 6 and 7 years ago so was able to keep watching. I don't watch regular tv and now being retired it's nice to have something to watch from time to time that isn't about our current state of the world and country. So sorry about those hateful people, but I totally understand and in fact can relate. I'm a retired nurse and my last job was in telephone care. After I injured my shoulder doing compressions for cpr training, and added stress from the job changes we were having, I decided to retire. A big part of that was the nearly everyday cussing and screaming from patients I was trying to help. It wears you down even if you try not to take it personally, you can't help it.

The trolls are certainly damaged and unhappy. Not so sure about being mentally ill. Plenty of people with mental illnesses would never dream of being unkind to others. And tbh we have enough to do, coping with our symptoms, without using up precious energy lashing out. But they are deeply troubled, with darkness in their hearts, that's for sure.

I’ve tried to think about how it must be for content creators to be trolled, on one hand you must think I really don’t care who you are or what you think but on the other hand we are human and do care - we care that some people are hateful and want go get them to stop. So you must want to give them a proper piece of your mind at the same time as trying not to let it affect you! I think it would eat away at me too, it’s those little conversations you have in your head that can be difficult to catch and pull yourself back from. Judging by the comments you’ve had you should put that top up for auction, it really is lovely!
Somehow the trolls want to drive away or destroy goodness. It's so odd, and so disturbing. What they say has no relevance or truth but they choose the most hurtful words their mixed up brains can come up with, and it must be the hardest thing not to be affected by their spite.

Oh Viv! The thought of anyone saying something hateful to you! You are so sweet and funny and honest. It's unconscionable. I hate to say this but I literally think many of those people are mentally ill. And that's why you get all the advice to "just ignore them." Because what else can you do about a deranged crazy person with a keyboard? Block them and move on. I know you'll still have thoughts that linger but there were so many people I loved online who went offline permanently because of the trolls. I hope that never happens with you. Meditate on the good comments because I know you get many more of those. 💛

The trolls are certainly damaged and unhappy. Not so sure about being mentally ill. Plenty of people with mental illnesses would never dream of being unkind to others. And tbh we have enough to do, coping with our symptoms, without using up precious energy lashing out.
But they are deeply troubled, with darkness in their hearts, that's for sure.

I’ve tried to think about how it must be for content creators to be trolled, on one hand you must think I really don’t care who you are or what you think but on the other hand we are human and do care - we care that some people are hateful and want go get them to stop. So you must want to give them a proper piece of your mind at the same time as trying not to let it affect you! I think it would eat away at me too, it’s those little conversations you have in your head that can be difficult to catch and pull yourself back from.
Judging by the comments you’ve had you should put that top up for auction, it really is lovely!

Somehow the trolls want to drive away or destroy goodness. It's so odd, and so disturbing. What they say has no relevance or truth but they choose the most hurtful words their mixed up brains can come up with, and it must be the hardest thing not to be affected by their spite.

It makes for a more rewarding, satisfying and gratitude filled life. Next month I get my state pension.( I am one of the WASPI women so have had to wait). I have wound up the curtain making business and intend to start up a little website to sell my few knitty/fibre bits and bobs. Found that certain websites had become very greedy with their commission rates! You have really inspired me to do this. But it will slow and joyful, because that is what puts a smile on my face.

I have big garden news. I am about to build my dream greenhouse this summer! Or maybe the right word will be my "she-shed". Been watching your shed as well. So cozy, and a way to enjoy the garden and planting - no matter the weather! I am looking for a no chimney fireplace, maybe a bioethanol or electric one. I was at a 60th Birthday in January, it was freezing cold, around -15c, but we were in the greenhouse! It was so nice. 🥰 I am so sorry for what you have experienced. I find the “fastness” overwhelming and it takes the joy out of knitting at times because our minds are being programmed to finish quickly and finish a lot of projects in a small amount of time… I’m also trying to slow down and enjoy the process which is the exact reason I started knitting in the first place, to be in that moment
Yay, great to see you and, if I may say so, looking very refreshed. I was only thinking about you the other day and for some reason thinking you should make yourself have a couple of days to yourself each week - no filming at all. After all, most working people get weekends etc. When you are self-employed I know there is a temptation to keep on keeping on but you do have a lot on your plate. Anyway, sorry to hear the trolls have been getting to you but pleased you have gone down the buy me a coffee route. Why not - you work hard to produce content for us and especially for people like me who can't get out so much it's like having a good neighbour and I enjoy your chats very much. You are so interesting, informative, relateable and, most of all, uplifting in a world which quite frankly has enough crap and doom-mongers in it. So keep up the good work but make sure you take time to yourself. Best wishes.
