People used to admire and respect Bengals Franchise. And they might have continued their arc if Paul Brown had named Bill Walsh instead of Bill Johnson to replace him upon retirement.
The 1973 Cincinnati Bengals finished 10-4 and were a good team that was competitive. Unfortunately they had to contend with a few other teams such as the Miami dolphins who were a little better and in the playoffs that showed as the Bengals lost to the dolphins.
The QB coach and essentially the offensive coordinator for the Bengals was some guy named Bill Walsh. Not sure if he did anything else.
Later, Walsh became the head coach of the 49ers. Won 4 Super Bowls. Facts.
Nah he was just a Stanford coach. ;)
Never amounted to any more than the Chargers OC. Never heard from since.

Cincinnati Bengals enjoy AFC Central Division crown 1970 1973 1981 1982 1988 and 1990 make playoff appearance in the 70s 80s and early 90s 🏈
I cannot stand Steelers, but they regularly crush bengals.
Greg Cook was the opening day starter but was pulled from the game after three passes.
Was it that bad? So unfortunate.

Sherman White, Bill Bergey, Charlie Joiner… why did the Bengals move these guys out?
Joiner only had 2 seasons of over 500 yards receiving his first 7 years in the nfl. He wasn't considered a great reciever till he got to San Diego.
