What Im really needing in Google meet is for it to record all the boxes even when they''re not talking. Its so annoying recording interviews and only seeing the person talking. Is there a way to fix this ?
I'm not sure if this has changed but I don't think that's possible directly in Google Meet. You can do it using a third-party screen recorder if needed.
is any way to hide the active speaker in the recording when sharing screen? I dont want the recording to show the full screen when teaching classes but the active speaker takes space in the recording :(
Hi - it's been a while since I made this video, but based on what I recorded at the time, it might not be possible. I have a bunch of videos about Zoom which does let you record gallery view, in case that helps.
You will need software like Snagit to record your screen view. Yes, it sucks, I love to google meet for everything, but this feature needs to be added. I will send them a request to make it happen.
No for recording, but you can make a screen cap video or image of that grid view, but the software, as of 10/23/22 does not have that feature. I'm going to request it. You should too.
Hi Ben. I’ve been using Meet to teach yoga online since the start of the pandemic. I’m now paying for meet so I can record and share these videos. I’m having a problem and I’m sure it’s easy to fix but I’m stuck. I cannot see my student after I record a session, the recording didn’t pick up her screen. Although at the time of the recording, I can see and her hear. The recording only has her voice. Please help if you can.
Hi Lorna - unfortunately it's been a while since I made this video and I'm much better with Zoom than I am with google meet - I'm not really sure beyond what I've already shown in the video above. Sorry I can't be of more help!
@@BenFinio The recording only picks up those who are talking. So if you are recording, only the persons who talk will get shown, and that's one at a time, as they are talking. If you want to see your students, you would need to use software like Snagit, to record the session. Sadly, I found this out because I'm trying to do a small December event.

You can go and get a different product like Zoom and do it very easily. Google does not provide this functionality as of this time yet.

So how do I actually record the grid view in google Meet and not just active speaker? I'd like to record me and another person side by side speaking.

And so, currently, the recording will never be in grid view? But it would show the other person in view if they speak right?
