- I've been wanting to get these glasses from #enchroma for him for about a year now since I first heard of them and I finally had the money!
Man I was nervous that these wouldn't work. I remember the Christmas he found out that red & green were two separate colors, he was heart broken.
I'm so glad he's able to see the beauty that I take for granted everyday. And that I'm able to experience your excitement and see the world through your eyes. Never going to take it or you for granted. Love you brother. Ben Sells

Taco Online He knew already that the grass and leaves are green even though he saw it as gray. so why couldn't he tell which balloon was green when he could've easily compared it to the green nature around him.
+Buzz Killington he sees both balloons as gray. That Red balloon could've been green to him, he saw it as grey so he didn't know.
Nicole D I know that. when he puts on the glasses he can see that both are different colors. He can also see that one balloon color matches the vegetation around him. he already knew that people refer to vegetation as green. Therefore the balloon that looks like grass should also be green.

I think he was just in shock that Red & Green are different colors. If you read the description, he was "heart broken" when he found out during Christmas, so this is probably the first time in his life that he was able to see Red & Green separately.

Azur Ivy It all depends on how bad your color blindness is. I can tell if their are red bows on a Christmas tree but fail the colorblind test everytime. I personally can still see red and green but it may not be the same red and green you see.

That's what made it so remarkable.
He's so soft spoken... He's like a gentle giant ;_; It's amazing to me that once he saw colors on the balloons, he didn't know which color was which... I knew that every time a colorblind person heard something was the green, red, or orange they saw them as similar shades. However I didn't realize that once a color blind person could see different colors, they couldn't match up a name to a color because they've never seen it before!! It's common sense, but I seriously never realized it until I watched this video, so it's pretty much mind blowing. Thank you for this video!! It's enlightening :)

You learn what those colors are, and then you call them by their given names. :)

These Colorblind videos are my new guilty pleasure. My only complaint about many of the videos ( But not this one) is excited screaming children. I understand family members excitement but when the kids are screaming “Look at this look at that” couple videos kids snatched the glasses right off of the adult’s face saying “Let me try those”!....ruins their moment, it ruins the moment for me the viewer so I can only imagine.

The balloons comes with the glasses and it's advised not to look at so many colours when you first trying it. That's too much for the brain to take

Yeah at the begining he said there were only three different color balloons, he saw a few of them the same.

I never realized that being color blind, you don’t really know name of colors because for so long everything looks the same. This was so amazing and touching to watch. It’s crazy how we take the little beautiful things we get to see daily for granted. I’m so happy he got to see the world thru our eyes.
We can see colours, we just see them differently and many of them look almost the same, like red and brown.
All these videos are beautiful. I love seeing the skepticism on their faces turn to amazement once they try them on. I'm trying to pursuade my family to chip in so we can buy my colorblind uncle a pair of these. He knows about them but he thinks they won't work or that the effect will be underwhelming. I can't wait to see the look on his face when he tries them on.

It is a common knowledge that trees, grass, etc. is green. So with the glasses, he would've been able to see the color of the trees, and then compare it to the color of the balloons. It would then be obvious to him what balloon associates to the green color.

Green is just a name. If the trees have the color X (green in this case) and you have balloons with the colors X, Y and Z infront of you, then you'll know that the balloon with the color X associates to the tree's color, which again is X. In this case, the color X is named green.
