ok, from someone who has been so bias toward camper trailers until now. WOW and i mean it! i camp more than 10 time a year and have never seen anything like this yet, youve done a great intro on the camper and all i can say is I WANT ONE!
I went to The Grampians 2 weeks ago and there was an Explorer next to me..... was such a great setup, the couple showed me right through the trailer and it's so impressive. This is IMO the best camper trailer on the market.... thanks guys and look forward to seeing it on more adventures.
Trackabout has been around for a lot longer than patriot and drifta. Roothy used to run with these guys years ago. Tuff unit. There is footage somewhere of one being dragged behind a comp truck on a off road course
Diesel769 yep I was there at the Expo weekend at LCMP. I use to live down the road from John who was the founder of Trackabout at Cornubia, Top bloke & Lanes family have kept the business growing ever since.
I Love your vids, Explore Life. East Africa and Kenya's camper /off road market is heating up. Its a sector I would love to get involved in. I already have a tour company. Its amazing how much tech and equipment transfer from Aussie camper market we can make. Great business opp right there. Kindly holla Sir.
Drifta have stopped making campers. sad day but they have a booming business. Patriot are cool but too expensive. this looks solid, good work on the video
@@nc1183 after 3 months or research you are not wrong. you get what you pay for. i want a patriot. the storage, weight and ease of use makes it worth it
Seems like a job just to set this up, I'm ok with a small offroad caravan, 10min after choosing my nice spot I'll be fully set and chilling with a drink in my hand. Then again different strokes for different folks...
In your honest opinion, do you think a small camper like this or the patriot would be overkill for a solo camper? I've never been a fan of having my 4wd (my only car) fitted with drawer systems, water tanks etc as it just weights too much and kills boot space throughout the week. Would be so good to hitch up on a Friday arvo and just head off knowing everything is already packed in the camper. I also like the idea that if I get another car, my camping set up can remain the same
all personal preference mate! I've cruised around solo with camper trailers and even a 14' caravan before so go for whatever setup that's going make you enjoy your time outdoors the most and suit how you want to set your vehicle up 👌
Hi Matt, Great video well done, good insight. One question I saw you recently bought a Patriot x1N. Was this just to test out another brand or was it because you prefer the X1N. I love both so interested to hear your reasons. Look forward to seeing your new wagon too, must have been hard to part with your epic 79 though!! Regards Steve
Hey mate love the trackabouts and patriots just two completely different products. Patriot X1N was epic as a base camp for our latest trip with heaps of storage for fishing gear but not many options for sleeping with the tinny on top. Trackabout has less storage for gear but a much larger sleeping and living area 👌 hope that helps
Obviously, Basically, Absolutely and Actually are the four words that are over used throughout this video!, learn some other adjective words. That said,.. it's a really nice set up even though my friends call it a glorified tent, I think it's pretty neat.
Mate I tell my wife if she drops more than 3 "basically"s in a conversation, she pays me $10 + another $2 per basically. You should market a drinking game. One basically = one beer
Sorry but i have to stop watching as the music is very annoying and if i was to have a drink every time you said " UM " will i would not be writting here that is for sure.
well maybe in some respects ( 2 wheels and a tow hitch), what about caravans then? who copied who? Patriot, Drifta and Trackabout are all unique campers in there own way and all are completely different, me personally i think they are all great campers
You were spot on! I was always thinking it would be a strain like an old school soft floor camper but you've changed my mind now good work Matty!
Nice set up....obviously for a multi night stay....Nice.

Awesome presentation of a wicked camper trailer .....just need to turn orff that poxy background music 👍
Love it! And the enthusiasm!!!
Well introduced
Im sure young lane and Tack about campers would be very happy with your great sales !!
Looks like a great camper , all the best .
Great video, have the Trackabout Basecamp and they are solid units!!! Would love this too when the kids get a bit older and are in swags
Unhitching safety tip, undo the chains last, just incase the trailer decides to move, it'll only go as far as the chains.
And stops you looking silly chasing it across the campground 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@nzmarkb8713 I’d pay to see that 😂
nice looking trailer, will do well for when you go to The Kimberley ;)
Nice. That trailer looked brand new

I like all three Brands but...I want to tow something that can be set up fast. Remember we're only comparing these 3. This is a 'slow' set up.

2nd one keep
It up haha love you blokes 😍🤟🏻
Nice run down👍, I would love one.
Awesome camper love the kitchen I get the drift ahh of the whole kitchen love it 👍
Hah yeh drifts use to manufacture it for them in timber they now do it far better if your talking about the similarities 👌
Certainly the bees knees of camper trailers 👌
Great layout!!
Nice looking trailer. Still prefer the simpler stuff though. Thanks for showing us.
Hey matt, love the vids mate, great trailer. Tbh not a fan of the music its never bothered me in your stuff untill this vid
Fantastic 👌

They thinking of maybe bringing back the dots
One of these half optioned is similar in price to the Patroit X1

"On and off" or "awn and awf" haha
Great vid guys!!
This ticks basically every box 📦 if only it was free 😂 a man can dream
Nice one guys, I need one!
I watch a lot of these videos and this guy and trailer are the best I have seen - well done to both. Now to see if I can buy one in the States.
Bluen with the missus😆so true. My mdc cape York is a pain in the arse. 30min setup
10:29 "pump the pushbikes on the tyres" lol 😂🤦🏻♂️
Bloody good mate!! 😀
any one else tune in to watch hand claps and listen to the alrights and ahhhs?
Apparently not.

I love lamp
1st one keep it up
They look like new clear view mirrors on the 76 ????
Like with all your other vids mate we.... LIKED - SUBSCRIBED - ENJOYED!! Its a well thought out camper!

Wont the Awning get burnt from hot gases from the burners? Atleast over time.
Matt fantastic vid bud, what is its pricing and availability? as im very interested in this very model
Hey mate contact t backs out for specifics mate
hey mate awesome and in depth review. one question, the big storage box in the kitchen, does it have legs for when its fully out?

@@theexplorelife thanks Matt, yes I saw storage was limited compared to the Patriots.
Thanks again.
Mint trailer but the price is unreal for what is essentially a soft floor camper with a removable annex..
Can you give us the good oil on the bike carrier and outboard slide ?
How heavy is it?
Great camper, but not the ultimate. Up there though. Top vid thanks
Like it but Patriot Campers/ Patriot Games products are hands down #1 in the world. You can be #2
Patriot Campers all the way
Where does the boat go ?
The Explore Life ...after you’ve paid for the Patriot you’ve got no money for the boat, problem solved
Great trailer....but the background music...seriously wtf? Were you on an Apocalypse Now bend or what?
How heavy do you think it weighs in at as you have it on this vid?
The X1 & X2 Patriot Campers
How do you get the tinny of the rack or more importantly on the rack...its a long way off the ground...
How much does this full spec model cost?
Pump up the push bikes on the tires 🤔
I enjoyed this video but lose the music. I wanted to switch off all the way through.
What was the name of the song? He basically spoke over it the whole video!!
What is the name of the company of awning plz thx & where I can buy it thx bro
From Vancouver bc
How you drop the tinny on the ground and how you put it back please
the grill on top has rollers that help it slide on and off! check out some episodes in season 2&3 on our channel for more info
@@theexplorelife thank you mate I will 👍
will you guys be selling these in the US?
They are now
Any American dealers? I’m in Nevada close to Las Vegas?
Lucky it wasn’t pissing down with rain and 80 km an hour wind and you’re trying to do that on your own
How about a thnx to Drifta for the kitchen idea?
Drifta use to make kitchens for Trackabout before they ever had campers mate it’s there design 🤙
website doesnt work?
Can you get these campers in the USA?
Yep
What heater is that?
Webasto
Whats the price ?
How bloody much? Basically.
i will stick with rooftop ⛺️
Need a bitly link in the lnfo

Also add a beer for every time he clapped his hands and I would have passed out about 3 mins in hahahahah
I want one
How does it compare to Patriot X1 ie weight, quality, cost etc
Same quality and a bit cheaper
I think you might have the clap mate
😂
Bike rack is an isi carrier
What's the hat bro?
Please turn down your music, hard to hear you and you have good information and content
Forward fold camper trailers are better.
So heavy mate and super long terrible for offroad
Enjoyed the video, except the horrible background music. Don't need that.
noted. Thanks for the feedback mate
Opus camper
Can’t get past the horribly distracting music that you have to shout over starting about six minutes. Turn it off.
Get rid of the music.
Sorry but i have to stop watching as the music is very annoying and if i was to have a drink every time you said " UM " will i would not be writting here that is for sure.
Sounds like you're trying to shout over the background music. I want to listen to you, not some music 🙄. Impressive video otherwise
Yeah na. Drifta copy, Patriot copy.
Trackabout has been around alot longer than patriot and drifta.
Drifta don't make trailers any more
Trackabout used to build the actual chassis/trailer for drifta in the early days of the dots. Been around a lot longer than both companies
well maybe in some respects ( 2 wheels and a tow hitch), what about caravans then? who copied who?
Patriot, Drifta and Trackabout are all unique campers in there own way and all are completely different, me personally i think they are all great campers
Goose!
That's a lot of talk !!!!!!
