I remember when young students and many other Nigerians fought so hard and demonstrated on the streets for the freedom of south Africa. I have an uncle who wrote his master's thesis on the aparthied, he went to south Africa for this purpose, he really was on the forefront of the fight. Nigerian musicians sang for their freedom, the Nigerian Government spent millions of dollars to help end apartheid. 1) SAns aren't xenophobic, it's just the country can't handle and deal with the large amounts of immigrants(majority illegal) coming into the country who most aren't contributing to the economy(tax) but are using public resources that are free ,beyond their capacity.
2) Also this is really affecting SAns who really need these resources and the narrative of foreigners being involved in illegal is constantly being exposed everyday at an alarming rate, people are genuinely exhausted because the types of crime that they are operating in the country weren't common previously.
