Every now and again Walkers bring out limited edition flavours, and they're always better than their main ones. We've tried these and think they're some of the best they've done.
Just think of rows of food chemists in a long lab adding all sorts of different chemicals to a basic bowl of plain crisps. Then a bevy of tasters entering with people watching their faces to see which ones are the least awful. Yay - a new flavour is created!
Co-Op brand salt and vinegar. Sound normal don't they, well by the time you finished a big bag your mouth will feel like it has been cut to shreds with salt and vinegar in the wounds.
I tried the "Sausage Sarnie" ones because my son posted on BookFace 😬 that they were so good. I couldn't taste any sort of "meaty flavours just a Ketchup flavour with a hint of herbiness. Infact in the Seventies before the explosion of Crisp companies which led to the demise of the iconic British brand of "Smiths Crisps" , Smiths actually introduced the first Tomato Ketchup flavour Crisps and they tasted just like these, even down to that hint of sweetness. I have the distinction of being the first to try them (apart from Neil Lyle, Smiths head Food Chemist) from a sample Neil hade made up to present to the board that same day if they passed muster. I've tasted some weird crisps over the years. Perhaps the most peculiar flavour was roast seaweed in Japan, though the bizarre cucumber flavour I had in Shanghai was strange too. Last time I was in BC, my grandsons were munching on cinnamon bun flavoured chips, which also struck me as bonkers.
The beans toastie ones are heavenly... They literally taste like a cheesy bean toastie what's not to like! The sausages one I feel like tastes like the end of a sausage sandwich when it's just ketchup and bread and grease left
there used to be a Golden Wonder sausage and tomato flavour so I am guessing the sausage and tomato sauce is based on that. I am not a great crisp fan but Golden Wonder were my choice but pretty much everything is Walkers now.
These Walkers crisps have been out for a little while now and I tried all 3 flavours when they came out and wasn't impressed with any of the flavours like you. If you want another recent set of 3 limited edition Walkers flavours that were even worse, they released "chickpea" flavours which were some of the worst crisps I've ever had. It took me many weeks to get through the multipacks (which, like the ones you tried, are sneakily in 5-packs for the same price as 6-packs). I'm not a fan of cheese crisps, but I did try the cheese and chilli flavour of Cheez-it (the only flavour of the 3 that looked remotely interesting) and it was just a "meh" in my books. My favourite crisp flavour is Golden Wonder Pickled Onion (purple packet), but it's very hard to find - I ended up buying a large box of them from Amazon!
I have seen Cheeze it Snap'd on shelves left of the pond. I didn't notice a difference in taste or texture when I tried the ones suddenly on UK shelves.
You get lays and cheese and spring onion flavoured . Not the best but have eaten worse. Hedgehog only lasted a week or two + while - strangely they were’t too bad but cheese and onion sometimes smells like old ladies knickers depending on the brand (and grannies knickers).😂
I think these crisps were designed to put into a sandwich, so maybe you are not doing it as the manufacturers intended. If you had them between two slices of bread and butter maybe they would taste completely different.
The worst flavour of crisps I can recall were Ranch Raccoon I think they came out around 10 years ago or so. The weirdest ones though were Christmas Pudding ones back last year. Both made by Walkers too. The nicest ever though were Smith's Cheese and Pickle back in the 90s I don't half miss those.
For the Sausage chrisps should have done brown sauce and seeing as it is owned by the same parent company the could have done HP Sauce. Or they could have done English mustard.
I don’t know if they sell Pringles in the UK but they are coming out with lots of different flavors in the USA. Some of them sound interesting like Elote Mexican street corn, chili cheese fries, All Dressed, carnitas taco, enchilada Adobada, hot honey, Philly cheesesteak, and everything bagel. I haven’t tried any of those flavors yet so I’m not sure how good they taste.
I'm sure i've seen a smoked bacon sandwich flavour version in my local Tesco. Haven't been curious enough to try them though as most varietal crisps are horrible.
Best Sandwiches in order: Fish Butty. Bacon Butty. Battered Sausage Sarnie. Battered Chips Butty. Crisp Butty. Chip Butty. Feel free to experiment with; Scallop, Fish Cakes, Bits or Scraps, Wotsits etc. if you wish.
Tbh the most offensive thing about any of them is that they called it a sausage sarnie and not a sausage butty which sounds so much better 😅 Also my favourite food are cheese and bean toasties and the crisps make an awesome crisp butty 🤤
A grilled cheese sandwich with a side of beans is one of my favourite comfort meals. Sorry the chips (I'm Canadian, I'm gonna say chips) were so disappointing. Lay's in Canada will often introduce three limited edition flavours, and Canadians can vote on their favourite to become a regular flavour. They even had a Swiss Chalet dipping sauce flavoured one. Swiss Chalet is a restaurant chain famous for their rotisserie chicken. Sorry, as far as weird flavours go, I'm not terribly adventurous. Most often, I buy a low salt regular.
Here in Canada in 2006 Lays (Walkers) introduced Curry flavour crisps - best flavour ever! About six months later they were discontinued.😶🌫 Do Walkers make a curry flavour in the UK?
@@dscott1392 You're so lucky! Being an English ex-pat, I miss English crisps and the best ones here are, of course, Lays/Walkers, but the variety of flavours is quite limited.
@nrbudgen some have just been specials and weird Limited editions, but new flavours from other companies are out all of the time ..Walkers has its Sensations range with flavours like mango and red chilli chutney poppadoms, Thai sweet chilli, roasted chicken and thyme etc

I've tasted some weird crisps over the years. Perhaps the most peculiar flavour was roast seaweed in Japan, though the bizarre cucumber flavour I had in Shanghai was strange too. Last time I was in BC, my grandsons were munching on cinnamon bun flavoured chips, which also struck me as bonkers.
there are 3 flavours of cheezit snaps, double cheese, cheese and chilli and cheese and sour cream FYI also the noodle thing is mugshots
I was waiting for this video when I saw the advert 😀
Good video thanks but I can't understand what's wrong with cold beans ?
I like cold beans ! Might give it a go😊
In Canada Lays is now doing a roasted chicken chip. Haven’t tried them myself, but you might want to check them out next time you’re back home. Cheers
That's got to be lays cucumber chips 😂. Love your taste testing, you deserve a medal though - what the heck is a sarnie ?
A sandwich! (UK slang)
A sarnie is a sandwich
@@YvonneWilson312 Cool, thanks Yvonne, appreciate it.
@@AlexanderHiner-g6b Cool, thanks Alexander, appreciate it.
@@Bluedex2011 My pleasure!
You should take a pack each, crush them into smaller bits and mix them into a frankenflavour to taste test.
omg do you want me to die lol
@@AdventuresAndNaps Blindfold taste test- Can you ID the flavour?
The beans toastie ones are heavenly... They literally taste like a cheesy bean toastie what's not to like! The sausages one I feel like tastes like the end of a sausage sandwich when it's just ketchup and bread and grease left
there used to be a Golden Wonder sausage and tomato flavour so I am guessing the sausage and tomato sauce is based on that. I am not a great crisp fan but Golden Wonder were my choice but pretty much everything is Walkers now.
I have tried many crisp and snack flavours over the years but tbh my only faves are walkers Cheese and onion and Lays paprika that you get in Spain.
Yes nothing better than a crisp sarnie with BBQ sauce.
l have never seen you put on so many faces😂😂
As of 2011, Pringles were sold in more than 140 countries, so yes for yonks.
Hurrah for Alanna's taste test videos! 🙌😃👌
If you want weird, I do like a couple of spoonfuls of chilled baked beans from the fridge to add to a salad.
My favourite crisp flavour was a limited edition Walkers crinkle cut cheese and ham bag of crisps.
"Cold Heinz beans". You haven't been to one of my family buffet teas. Quite often there'll be a tin of cold beans for anyone to help themselves to.
Sausage sarnie ones have a weird meaty taste. I found the chicken and mayo to be quite bland, but the beans and cheese toastie ones are scrumptious.
Cold beans are lovely, although I'd have Branston Beans.
Tbh the most offensive thing about any of them is that they called it a sausage sarnie and not a sausage butty which sounds so much better 😅 Also my favourite food are cheese and bean toasties and the crisps make an awesome crisp butty 🤤
cold beans out the tin is an idle camping staple.
I always have my baked beans direct from the tin. never heat them up as it spoils the flavour.
Can't comment on the crisps but a real cheese and bean toastie is lush
Easy! Er... sausage sarnie sausage sarnie shaushage sharni...Oh.
A "law suit" sounds like a smart outfit worn by barristers and such.
Sour cream & onion Pringles are the best crisps out there
A grilled cheese sandwich with a side of beans is one of my favourite comfort meals.
You've obviously never tried Hedgehog crisps! I kid you not. It was the early 1980s, they got withdrawn as there was no actual hedgehog in them.
Here in Canada in 2006 Lays (Walkers) introduced Curry flavour crisps - best flavour ever! About six months later they were discontinued.😶🌫 Do Walkers make a curry flavour in the UK?
Probably for over the last 30 years....we have chip shop curry, tikka, Thai curry, korma, katsu, madras etc etc
I looked it up Walkers have produced over 145 flavours in the UK
@@dscott1392 You're so lucky! Being an English ex-pat, I miss English crisps and the best ones here are, of course, Lays/Walkers, but the variety of flavours is quite limited.
@nrbudgen some have just been specials and weird Limited editions, but new flavours from other companies are out all of the time
..Walkers has its Sensations range with flavours like mango and red chilli chutney poppadoms, Thai sweet chilli, roasted chicken and thyme etc
Should have been cheese toastie with Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup - classic combination. Cold baked beans are, however, a comfort food in the UK. Straight out of the tin with a spoon. YUM.
Thank you for freeing me from having to try these abominations.

Woah, woah, WOAH now. Steady on there. Cold beans - especially if you make sandwiches out of them with copious amounts of butter - are lovely. Nicer hot? Maybe. But also lovely cold.
Don’t be a heathen.
