The Armchair Traverse is a beast. High above Wedgemount Lake in Garibaldi park, it links Mt Cook to Mt Weart in a stunning and exposed ridge with glaciers on all sides. Sunny and I tackled this challenge in a long day push (14ish hours car to car) and certainly enjoyed the exciting scramble and fantastic ridge walking of this classic Whistler area mountain outing. I made this video to give a feeling of what it is like, the video does not show all of the challenges and difficult parts. If you attempt this please be prepared - I am not responsible for your actions. Thanks for watching!

My 20 year old brain says "Hey that's looks amazing"...my 50 year old body says "Awwww HELL NO"....and then I seen the exposed scrabbling and my brain suddenly agreed with my body lol...awesome video as always.
Haha thanks
Hey Luke! Sourena here, it was a pleasure to meet you and Sunny on the trail that day on my way back down with my mom. You guys crushed this one, just getting to the lake is an effort on its own let alone the traverse! Thanks for the video, you have added another BC hike to my list.
Thanks Sourena, likewise, I appreciate the support!
Thanks Sourena. It’s very impressive to see your mom hiking that trail. Good for both of you.
Pardon me for pointing out;
A while ago it was hikes with the dog, camping , split boarding, etc.
But I couldn't help but notice, that you are now literally Mountain Climbing...
yes climbing freaking mountains!!!
Just an observation.
What can I say, my interests are many and varied, haha
Wow, that's an intense day! And some amazing scenery. Nicely captured!
Thanks!
Rad but scary traverse. Well done boys!
Thanks!
That looked terrifying going across that ridge! Thanks for taking us along
Man this channel makes me so homesick for BC and my time living in a 4Runner there. Wedgemount is such a beautiful spot and such a fun hike. Can't wait to go back there and explore the alpine around it.
Absolutely, I hope you get the chance!
That one will stay with you, Luke!
Absolutely!
I did this traverse on Saturday, September 9th 2023. Super engaging and sustained scramble in an unbelievable setting.
100% agree with you, also you picked a good day because Saturday’s weather was just about perfect!
Beautiful, as always!
The most sketchy hike I have ever done. Absolutely stunning views and thanks for the invite and taking me up there 🏔️🙏🏼
it was one of the highlights of the summer for me, thanks for being a part of it!
Mad dogs. And Canadians!
Great run, guys. Spectacular
Beautiful video Luke and Nina.!:)
thanks Emily
Your welcome Luke and Nina.!:)
That looked super effing gnar! 😮
Bro! Great job. Looks like a tough hike to film but the video turned out super sick
Yeah, thanks, I would have like to gather some more epic shots and alternate angles, but as you saw, there's not much time for that!
Wow! What an accomplishment that one was. Glad I found this video: truly spectacular and way too much exposure for me to ever attempt! Well done. Stay safe.
Thanks Brian!
Crazy Trek. Love the views.
So epic.
I felt queezy watching that🤢 Thanks for that Luke 😂
The views were amazing and that sunset was awesome 😎
Great job to both of you two!
Sick as, brutal looking trek but amazing veiws.
It's beautiful for sure, thanks Bryn!
so dope what an awesome trip
thanks Jack!
Thats so sketchy, gives me the willies!
as always, great video… cheerz to sunnyboy 😂
thanks! Sunny is always positive and great to have along.
That ridge is wild. I love the placement of the 360 camera on the helmet I'm going to have to adopt that for my films, it gives a great hands free perspective.
Yeah, I’d love to take more shots with the main camera during the scramble, but you need your hands free and stopping frequently to take out the camera, film, and put it away again is just not time efficient. So the 360 camera on the helmet works best in this scenario, although I like a mix of different shots and perspectives.
@@lifeofluke I struggle with this alot, I use a7siii as my main shooter but often Im so exhausted and time sensitive I pull out my dji pocket 2 1 handed to grab some on the go shots and 360 camera for more dramatic situations. Dont forget the drone and dji action... haha too many cameras. I'm looking at that new sony xperia 1 v basically seems to do everything except offer a selfie screen when vlogging.
I am going on Thursday, super timely route info for me! Awesome!
thanks James, have fun up there!
Just got back from the traverse! It's so much fun! Unfortunately the blue ridge tarn is flashed out by a giant blow hole lower down the glacier. Got a little headache after 10hrs of intense sun, otherwise came back in one piece. Thanks again for the video. That helped a lot 😄 @@lifeofluke
What time of the year did you do this?
beginning of September
@lifeofluke, thank you! I hope to get the free time to do this next year. I found my self in Lynden WA last year only a few hrs from this place when I purchased a oneway ticket to seatac. Then I bought a super scoot off Craigslist and road it 3500 miles home to MN doing adventures all the way. When in the cascades I found your channel and you have great content. Thank you for sharing! 👍
That's awesome! Thanks for watching.
❤👊👍☀️🇳🇱
What, no Nina? to hard?
not for this one, it should be fairly obvious why
