I love my 2012 500 sport w/5 speed manual. I rip thru the gears and it gets me to 50 mph in a blink. Even in full-time sport mode I get well over 30 mpg. It's more roomy than you would think, as well. Very comfortable and the ergonomics are intuitive. Easy shifting, if you know what you're doing. Great little car. Can't wait until I can afford to get a couple more.
In some models, like ours, it's designed like a bench, so Fiat-Chrysler could have made this car a 5-seater by putting in a 5th seat belt. However in some countries more seats mean more money, so keeping it a 4-seater would keep down the expenses, as you wont even use 4 seats most of the time.

I have a fiat 500 65 reg. it has a glass sunroof with a shade to pull over but I can’t work out how to open the sunroof. Does it indeed open? I’d love to know. My tax is £20 a year, I can afford that!
4:17 downside? A lack of a 3rd seatbelt in the back? I don't know about everyone else but i find 2 seatbelts in the back of a 4 seat car plenty! Won't be using this channel for car reviews again if this is the sort of stupidity it comes out with!
sic22l, and soon (as early as the '16 model) NoAm 500's will also come from Poland, since Chrysler is making a switch with another model. That would make all 500's European-made (L's come from the old Zastava factory in Serbia and X's come straight from Italia).

I'm 6 foot 1 and don't fit in the back, my dad got one as a rental car, he's 6 four and built like a bear, hilarious seeing him drive around in a tiny fiat
+fruitcake4t Yep, my wife bought a Twinair 500c Sport in Paso red. The dash is metalic grey as standard in the Sport trim, but we prefer it coloured to match the car - the dealer resprayed it red for no extra cost!
Believe it or not, yes. It's much roomier than outside appearance would suggest. I'm 6' 250 lbs and I don't feel cramped at all and still plenty of headroom. Great little car. My only complaint: I drive mine professionally and I need to see street signs...even though it's taller than most if not all micros, the roof line comes down so far that you almost have to be a contortionist to peer out of the side windows. I've never experienced this problem with any other vehicle, and I've owned over 30 thru the years. Other than that...perfect vehicle. I would test drive extensively before considering ownership.

your point is invalid Mercedes have a sence of prestige to them im sure Mercedes would not put a bad Renault engine in,if it was from Renault it would have gone through rigorous checks to make sure it lives up to Mercedes quality.

Also the Fiat 500 has been around for a number of years now, so if there were any "horrow stories", surely the whole world would have heard about them by now. Which is not the case at all. A Mercedes A class is much bigger and at least twice as expensive as a Fiat 500, so the two cars are not alternatives to each other at all.

Sunroof is not standard on all models. I think the Lounge model does.
