As a longtime Cards fan, I’ve always been pessimistic. Our history has bred that in a lot of fans. But for some reason, I’m not that way about Kyler. His confidence, his maturity, his talent have all won me over. Now it’s time for you to win one for us kid.

Those losses really hurt but gotta give him his props... he's the truth.
I saw this kid the year of the first championship, he was 15 years old.
I caught a playoff game against the great Skyline H.S. school in Dallas Texas. Annually, they would place 15-17 kids on Div 1 scholarships. I was there to see this team of All Stars and I did not know anything of Kyler Murray, although I did know who his Dad was, after the fact.
I myself was a full scholarship college football player who started and lettered 3 years so I am not very impressed by the h.s. kid unless they are exceptional.
The first thing I noted was how small the kid playing QB was. On that day, Murray had touchdown runs of 55 and 78 yards, untouched, in the first half but I was not very impressed because, in h.s. you can always get the fastest kid and stick him at QB or WR and he just out runs everyone else.
But, it was the last drive of the first half of that game which show me this kid was something really special, and he didn't even score a touchdown.
With something like 1:15 on the clock, Allen and Murray received the kickoff and started at the 20 yard line.
Play 1. Speed out completion to the left flat for about 12 yards.
Play 2. Speed out completion to the right flat, 15 yards.
Play 3. Seam pass to tight end....chunk play...20 yards.
Play 4. QB keeper, 12 yards, then they kick about a 34 yard fg to close the half.
This kid was totally poised, purposeful and cool at 15 years old. He got 3 pts before the half and looked like Joe Montana doing it, he was very, very polished for a h.s. QB. He already was more polished then many college QBs. He was already going 3 levels deep into his read progressions and he was doing it quickly. I noted that day that the kid could really throw the football from the pocket. You could already see his arm strength on out throws.... h.s. defensive backs, LBs, etc were over matched.
I was impressed and became a fan that day and saw all 3 title runs. He was the best player on the field, even at 15 years old.
I've been a fan of Kyler since his sophomore year in highschool. I live in Dallas and he is for sure the goat of Texas High School Football.

I went to allen high school with kyler. I knew from the very first game i went to go watch, that he would be great. He was truly a wizard
I still enjoy watching his high school games and Championships games. I’m a Cowboys fan and I still watch him with the Cardinals . He is magic on any field.

I’ve watched all of his games since his sophomore year at Allen. I was about 8 or 9 years old. There has been and never will be someone as good as Kyler in any high school level.

@@ares1469 there have been many people who did that. Including Tate Martell.. also Browning lost 1 game his sophomore year and it was to De La Salle (who I think would have beat Murray). Other than that game he went undefeated as well.
