Just heard this on The Highway yesterday...I was on a long drive to a new job, was needing a pick up, and this came on...This is my life in words...Can't get enough of it...Also, I'm from Oklahoma haha
The first time I heard it I was not that impressed. Subsequently each time I heard it liked it better and better. Now it is my favorite country song. Thanks “The Highway” for playing it.
Definitely came here after watching the Hulu documentary❤ I cried like a baby the whole time happy tears sad tears and even angry tears😢😅😊 not going to lie would love to hear more of the stories LOL👌❤😊
I had never heard of you until I heard this song this morning on The Highway. Firstly I loved your voice, love the sound of the song, and then relating so much to the lyrics. I love it. You made a new fan today.
Luke is an amazing talent he's wrote songs for Miranda and Eric Church. He has also made a movie about his humble beginnings and how he grew up. Its called Red Dog
I’m OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG! Grew up in small towns in Texas in a trailer! Hell hell trailer park hero…..Yee haww y’all! Thank the LAWRD for country music
OmGosh!!! It's been so crazy long.....I danced here about 5yrs when Ron and Ray Mackey owned the place. I have a star next to my left eye. I did a lot of Dance acts. I really just loved this part of my life. It would be so Amazing to reunite with my sister's back then......Love and Miss you all
This is one of the greatest songs ever written. It has the concrete level of meaning that is obvious in the song, but if you’ve ever been a kid, parent, a teacher, coach or watched a neighbor grow up you can make you own version of this song. You made it out, but your still in is breathtakingly genius. There is a temptation to reject people that “make it out” of small town environments and to reject run from your hometown of you “make it out.” Those lines make it clear that while the kid “made it out” they are still loved and accepted back home even though they make a few jabs at the big timer. Just wonderful.
I just finished watching your documentary and I couldn't help but to come here and just say me and your mother have walked dangerously similar paths and I cant help but to idolize her and her strength cause unlike her I'm still struggling to move on past that yet know I need to for my children. But I've always had trouble seeing the silver lining in my future and often imagine my kids and husband one day having to move on without me without me. I always felt the possibility of a brighter future for me were very unlikely and unachievable but hearing her story truly has hit a cord in me im having trouble describing and seeing where you guys were and we you guys are now has given me a new outlook and a understanding that people out there have not only walked in my shoes but also came out on top. And gives me hope for my children to not neccesarily follow my footsteps as well. It's just truly inspiring and I can honestly say your mother is one of the most amazing people I have ever came accrosed and I'll never forget it. I guess I'm just trying to say thank you to you and her and all the others who shared their story cause even if it never inspires anyone else the way it did me it still changed a life and gave a new perspective and I just think it's an amazingly beautiful thing! P.s. the fact miranda Lambert is featured on your song speaks volumes to how far you've come and I hope my son finds his nitch the same way you have
i listened to this song while I was on the way to see my grandpa in the hospital , I sat in my seat thinking this was a damn good song and I had to show him but I never got the chance too but I know some day I will and I hope he likes it . ❤️🩹

Go Luke 💃💃💃 Go Mirandaaaaaaaaaa 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞 💜💙💖
Great song!
Love the song
Great song
Great lyrics
I sing this with my friends at school all the time
Amazing song
I grew up in a sea of red
All the dirt, the debt and the cigarettes
And all the worlds that Jesus said
Still in my heart, still in my head
My daddy's on the couch in a Busch Light coma
Brother's on parole stuck in Oklahoma
Twenty to one I wouldn't get my diploma
But there it is hanging on the wall
I can hear em' back home singing
Hail, hail, trailer park hero
Got a new car and used tuxedo
Aw hell, look at you now
You got your first comma in your bank account
Well you made it out but you're still in
We still remember when
Your mama was smoking in the third trimester
Yeah you might wear leather but you're made of polyester
Yeah, polyester
Now I got a nice house out in Tennessee
Ain't got wheels but it's got AC
Mama's on the phone updating me
Guess sister won a raffle, got a new TV
Daddy's off the beer now he's on to Dr. Pepper
Brother hit a deer got to grill it on the Weber
Million to one I wouldn't hit a gold record
There it is hanging on the wall
I can hear em' back home, they're singing
Hail, hail, trailer park hero
Got a new car and used tuxedo
Aw hell, look at you now
You got your first comma in your bank account
Well you made it out but you're still in
We still remember when
You dropped out of Vo-Tech first semester
Yeah you might wear leather but you're made of polyester
Aw, hell
Now I got a couple kids in the backyard swinging
Lightyears away from my upbringing
Back of my head I hear em' back home singing, uh huh
They sing
Hail, hail, trailer park hero
Got a new car and used tuxedo
Aw hell, look at you now
You got your first comma in your bank account
Well you made it out but you're still in
We still remember when
You were sitting in your room trying to learn Def Leopard
Yeah you might wear leather but you're made of polyester
Aw, not too shabby for a troubadour drifter
Yeah you might wear leather but you're made of polyester
Yeah, polyester
Yeah, polyester
Yeah, polyester
Mm, yeah
Is it worlds or words that Jesus said? According to the lyrics site it’s worlds but doesn’t seem right
Given the context, I believe its "words" but I could be wrong. Also I hear "kid sister" rather than "guess sister".
Love it..💕
This song is awesome in the sea of red and the one comma in the bank account with the deer roasting on the Weber
So good
Love this up beat song! I can relate!
I had to look up the Lyrics and laugh, laugh, laugh
Amazing🦄🦄🦄🦄🌟🌟🌟
