FYI, I personally love your tangents. It's rare that people get to hear the true thoughts of a professional. Especially in the mental health field. One of the main reasons I like Accurize is his mundane day to day thoughts on Law Enforcement. Weirdly enough, you both deal with mental health, just from different directions. I appreciate the RL stories and thoughts.
On my current interloper run i have found the hammer in CH. I dropped it somewhere to make my backpack lighter. I explored entire region and when i was ready to go to the DP i couldn't find it in my dump. I checked whole region 3 more times and im clueless. It's not that i don't have like 4 of them already, but i don't think i need to explain the hoarders pain to fellow longdarkians. Going to watch the video now, you better be finding that hide
it's times like those that I regret not making notes in the journal about where I left something. If the game paused while looking at the journal, I would use it waaaay more, but alas it doesn't and I get anxious feeling I'm wasting precious daylight etc lol
I killed the marsh ridge moose in Muskeg in my current run. The moose meat was where I left it, but the hide in the nearby cave had turned into a bear hide when I returned. Bears don't go in that area, and I remember distinctly putting the moose hide there to cure a few days before. This game is strange sometimes.
So, I have an active theory and your video series is helping me prove it lol I think because there's 100% chance that no hatchet or knife will spawn on Interloper that there's a higher chance to find multiple Heavy Hammers in those same places where Hatchets and Knives would normally spawn. On my 180 Day Voyageur save I've only found 1, single Heavy Hammer total. I've searched the entirety of 6 Regions for all known Wiki Spawn Locations of the Heavy Hammer and only found 1 - it was at the Gold Mine in Ash Canyon. But I've got Hatchets and Knives for days. I even keep notes of where I have the spares.
I had to use a stim when travelling to FT for the first time, simply because I underestimated the amount of food and fuel you need to bring with you. The problem for me is that Transfer pass is basically barren, just a few ptarmigans if you are lucky. I think there should be something more to hunt there so that one could setup a hub with food to break the journey. Importing food is just tedious due to how far it is from everywhere, if you travel while encumbered it's just not fun and it takes forever.
I just started my first interloper save and i think it isn't that bad. I started in ash canyon but i was able to move to pleasant vallet( i dont know ash and timberwolf that much and pleasant valley feels easier to avoid animals until ill get a bow) and now im just looking for materials and clothing. And im still not dead so that's something
That’s usually what I do, but if I get an ash canyon spawn, I rush the backpack so I don’t have to do it again. I’m still not that good so if I don’t immediately do it, I’ll probably die to the cold or dehydration
@@willoschOG i spawned on the lower level of the map, and with no knowledge, clothes and hypothermia i didn't want to go and look for the access to the higher level. Also i didnt looted the place that much and ill go there for sapplings and animals (maybe moose)
I agree 💯 with the hunting lodge base. On an old run I spawned in BR. Was able to kill the moose near the lodge which was amazing. Overall I remember spending like 50+ days at that base throughout that run.
You should mark the spot where you almost died to the wolf last time you were here (it was right around the fence) the same way you marked the place where you almost died to the wolf in PV.
lol, Coming back from an 8 month hiatus... I love this episode. After all Zak's talk of how memories work and facts about making false memories, he says "This is what's good about regional bases. I know because I've been here before... Hey, where's all my shit?" 🤣😭
You looked in the wrong cave. It's the cave near the northern hunting blind in Bleak, not the transfer cave. Part 30 timestamp 1:04.00 is wherer you dropped it.
Been watching since the beginning of this run. "We" haven't seen it but have you had any big bugs that make you re load? Im just under 300 days and 3 maybe 4 times now I have fallen through the ground to the next level of ground.
im 400 days into a interloper run and scurvy never came up,, cooking level 5,,living on wolf meat mostley and bears when they spawn,,scurvy should be an issue but its not,,is my game ghlitched ?
concerning using the notebook...many old timey voyageurs, modern hikers, even soldiers kept a journal of their travels because they couldn't remember everything they saw, did already, or needed to do. when I was homeless I used to keep one, documenting my life. cool interesting things that happened to me, where I found blackberries, raspberries, wild grapes, a mulberry tree. call it a Survivalist Diary. there's so much information you need to remember. you got to write it down.
Man, been a while since I watched this series. It's so funny how different players differ in terms of organization and "Main Base" logic. You're way more organized on your meat, supplies, hides, etc. But I write EVERYTHING into the Logs! Like my Main Log is several pages long and then I have individual day logs for when I kill Bears and Wolves and want to remember when they respawn. And you have multiple of each type of item at Trapper's Cabin, while I create "Drop Bases" for traveling purposes. I'm currently at Day 180 on my Voyageur save atm. Aiming for 500 Days there, while also getting every single achievement possible along the way. Slow, but fun. I'm 30/56 achievements so far.
Sometimes it seems like what separates super intelligence from ordinary is the ability to remember things. I wonder if it’s just a physiological thing. Maybe that part of the brain is more developed or bigger. But then again, maybe all that matters is what’s happening right now and being able to recall the past is a luxury. Or a curse.
It is so weird being so sick with a light illness/ailment for a long time. I had a sore throat and a stuffy/runny nose start 1.5 weeks ago, but now I am just having a constant stuffy nose which is more annoying than debilitating. Another amazing video Zak.

Those oneshots always give me moosebumps.
New affliction dropped
16:30 I'd like to see a wolf fall through the ice.

yeah, it's time for guys like us to recognize journal as an important asset not just optional feature
its in a different cave further into bleak inlet nearer to the washed out trailers
The moose hide was inside of a cave in bleak inlet Were you dragged to the moose hide and guts to the cave in episode 30
Oh yeah. Derp.
Yeah, "BI Cave" isn't precise enough.
So Zak will you go back for the hide or continue on to tft
Maybe since the hide in BL is cured

Another fun watch, looking forward to FA and ZOC
I only wear one layer of all my clothing when I get the craftable clothes cause I’m a loot goblin
I hope the devs will give us the option to turn off the glimmer fog.
Good stuff as always, enjoy watching these while I do homework
might wanna update the title.
Haha thank you! So tired lately, missed it. Thanks.

Lets say I forgot how to spell lol

Yay new episode
Where is the 5th part of dlc and why it's taking them so long to release
No idea, but I dont mind long breaks. Gives us time to immerse in whats recently added
What was the name of the new region.. cant find it in the video. Thanks
Ah found it... mountain pass

is the run from before scurvy was added, if so you have to mod it in as zak did some episodes ago
Did you start the run before the latest patch? If so, scurvy isnt active

Quartering the moose during an aurora…. This is confidence…
I honestly always wear one wolf coat just because it makes me feel less wasteful. I end up killing so many wolves that the hides pile up.

yeah, and Zak said „BI cave, i will know what it means“. Great!
I always enjoy the episode. I didn't get to it until late this time, though. But I wouldn't go to bed without watching!
You just have to ask the game for a one shot moose, I wish I knew earlier.

I remember the previous time you spent time at the Maintenance Yard, notably your first major wolf struggle that almost caused you to die!
zak: yhea the maintence yard is stacked
at the maintenence yard: ...
So leaving meat attracts birds or whole body's? If just meat you should plant an area for feather farming
Carcasses do, not meat
amnesia? amensia?
FYI, the moose hide is in the Cave thats near the transition cave.
Always fun Thanks Zak!
By the Way do you find ever a sharpening Stone at the Beach?
