Can we just give a shoutout to the producers? This video recording is OUTSTANDING. Thanks of course to the soloist for a beautiful interpretation.

Thanks. I wish the posters of classical music videos (and everyone who posts videos else, for that matter) would take advantage of UA-cam's chapter feature for marking the movements. Hardly anyone seems to know about it. It's nice to be able to jump to a particular spot.
What joy to see a young musician play classical music with such virtuosity and passion ! A sterling performance ! I am looking forward to be able to listen to a lot more of this young man. Bravo !
His cello’s prodigious performance will quench the dryness of the soul, and evoke comfortable feelings and a peace of mind, and embody greatest pleasure
Bruno's visible emotions expressed through his eyes are awe-inspiring. His love for his music telegraphs.
Playing, especially as a soloist, involves more than just playing the notes. Everything affects the performance; your interpretation, the way you move every part of your body, even how your hair moves. It's not easy to truly do a piece justice, but he played wonderfully.
It looks like he was sculpted by Michelangelo. Handsome and very talented.
@@rezonans1630 And so? Why shouldn’t she write this? That doesn’t mean she wants to marry him.
We also don’t care about your comment...
He plays with such sensitivity. Beautiful!
This has to be the best performance of Dvorak's second cello concerto with a camera so far up one's nose. Hands down.
Yes! is true. I would have killed the cameraman if he got so close to me!
Beautiful melodies! I enjoyed every moment!
Beautiful beyond words
This concert is so wonderful....it brings in all the classical tradition, combined with the emotion of Antonin Dvoraks slavonian soul....and the performance of Bruno Phillipe and the Brussels Philharmonic is extraordinary....Thank You.
This is such an incredibly hard piece to play, and Bruno does it so well! He makes it look effortless!
Imagine memorizing at least 30 mins of a solo. DAMN
DiverCity that is required and expected when you play a concerto
Memorising is not that difficult, musicians usually improve their musical memories over tens of years of musical education and practicing. The hard part is playing it well and making a good interpretation.
I was so stunned when I realized that non-pianists aren't used to memorizing literally everything.
Enjoyable performance, with an exciting and promising young soloist. What a joy.
One entertaining moment, @34:32 the orchestra somehow loses its timing, and then we get a knowing grin from a trombonist at @34:47. :-) The joys of live performance.
Jeremy, you are so right. I enjoyed very much the grin on the trombonist's face too.
This is an outstanding performance by a truly excellent musician.
Love passion of young musicians. This is a great example
4:09 - that moment when you know that god blessed you with such masterful music and all you can do is to celebrate life!
Fantastico ! Grazie,tutti bravissimi.
Absolument magnifique !!! BRAVO !!!!!
Thank you so much Bruno, I really really enjoyed watching you playing this amazing piece of music 🎶, I really really love ❤️ how you play, and put your heart and soul into your music 🎶. Absolutely stunning and gorgeous and utterly incredible too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
¡Brilante! ¡¡Qué excelente interpretación!! Felicitaciones. Un placer escuchar.
That's one of the most beautiful harps I have ever seen....a true work of art. Can't imagine the cost.
From Australia.
This takes my breath away.
That cello he's playing looks like it has some interesting history and a lot of it.
Could you tell us the legend of this celo? Is there anyone? Thanks
@@jorgegarzaelli6238 Bruno Philippe has a Facebook page.:
facebook.com/FranceMusique/videos/283394015967567/UzpfSTQxMTU0MTk3NTY3OTU5MjoxNDM0MTE4NTczNDIxOTIy/ In it, he talks about the instrument. Alas, he speaks French and I cannot understand a word of it. I'm still researching and will let you know if I find anything else.
@@namzarf Hi, there! I just watched the video in the link. He's actually not talking about his cello at all, he's just making a general introduction about what type of instrument a cello is, how it produces sounds and what type of sounds etc. At the end he says how he was once late at his own solo concert held in a church already full of people.
@@jorgegarzaelli6238 The only thing I found out is that: "Bruno Philippe plays a cello by Carlo Tononi on loan from Beare’s International Violin Society" according to his management agency's website.
www.lagence-management.com/en/artists/instrumentalists/bruno-philippe/
Carlo Tononi lived between 1675-1730, according to the wikipedia article about him.
In 1713 he moved from Bologna to Venice. Therefore it is well possible that he might have met Vivaldi.
awesome interpretation! clear, clean, with strength and feeling.
Tu je naozaj vsetko mimoriadne, solist, dirigent, zvukova technika a obrazova réžia. Ďakujem!
I've heard this concerto many times, but I never liked it. Never felt like I got it. Until this performance! So elegant and graceful, lyrical and beautiful. Thank you!
You filled my heart with emotion. thanks!
Beautifully played and filmed thanks
What extraordinary talent, what a delightful performance, wow! Bravo!!!
he’s so amazing! that intonation and shifting... superhuman
His Countenance Is Amazing; His Skill Is; As That; As; What I Perceive; Is; Masterful;
Wow, what a collaboration. This was a masterclass in attentive musicianship.
A GREAT CELLO PLAYER AND VERY HANDSOME GUY!
favourite but frim 11:43 until 12:52 the emotive double stopping octaves which already is magnificent but then after so much string crossing from right up the fingerboard and each note is just so clearly pronounced like he's just speaking the cello he just adds a bit of himself in too. Loved the interaction with the clarinet too oh my word it was amazing.
Wow, that was amazing! So much passion!
Wow.
It’s amazing just how Leo Harlem plays the clarinet.
My first time watching Denève conduct.
Very enjoyable!
THAT WORKING
for the performer to make such an perfect execution
for the composer to leave to posterity such a wonderful work
FÉLICITATIONS À TOUS LES DEUX
CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH OF YOU
😉👍
Bravo Bruno Phi;ippe ,Dvorak Cello Concerto N,2 ( For this Great Performance )
Ten thousand hours and more Bravo!
I just keep returning to this record.... it's excellent understanding
Je découvre cette excellente version !
It is stunning. I want to see more your performance~~~
I love his passion!
Started from two set now we are here.
Twoset should have tried to learn this when they did the we learned cello in an hour video. 😂😂😂
@Student Jakub Oronowicz yes it was, my cellist heart cried a bit when Brett tried the entrance
Thank you! from Brazil!
Un archange musicien !!! Bravissimo.
Beautiful. Majestic. Well played by the orchestra. Well played by the young soloist. Outstanding. Somewhere, Jacqueline du Pre is smiling.
Enormously gifted and committed to his art. A joy to hear Bruno play Dvorak with the BP and M. Deneve
Truly fine performance. One can say grand, in the best sense. Thanks to all.

I love the cello playing as well as the oboe in the orchestra!
the entire woodwind section is incredible........ all of their interplay with the cello is great
This is why i love dvorak,,the soloist and duets between several sections is amazing
lovely... Bruno Philippe
The ear is a remarkable thing. It gives soulful and physical balance to life.
its amazing how timeless classical music is. Im in my early 20s and surrounded by rap, Hiphop, EDM etc. and u know no one is gonna remember those interprets in 20 years because it is evolving so quickly. (not saying anything bad against those genres btw)
He looks like a child of Eddie Redmayne and Benedict Cumberbatch
Wow! What a Performance! I was thinking of Jesse Eisenberg when Monsieur Philippe took the stage.
Uhhh has anyone heard of Joshua Roman? Its another cellist who looks just like him but a little older. He probably traveled back in time just for this concert
Bruno Phillipe, sir, you're the reason now that I'm gonna start my journey in cello during this pandemic. So, cheers mate!
i know i’m late, but cheers fellow pandemic cellist! i started playing two months before lockdown hit, and one of the few good things that came from 2020 was cello. i was always jealous of people who had passion for something until i started cello on a total whim, and honestly i think the timing had a lot to do with it (it gave me something hopeful during the pandemic, and i had plenty of time to devote to it and fall in love with it). anyways, if you see this i’d love to know how it’s going so far!
@@sitka0516 darling its going lol rn craxking up its going so far

Damn, where did he come from? Par excellence. Now, I love this concerto! I wish he was the winner tho 🥺
sublime
This is hauntingly beautiful
Fantástico!!
J'apprecie beaucoup sa façon de jouer. Très personnelle.
Grandios!
Amazing.
beautiful!!!
he is really cute!
He has a ring on his fourth finger. I mean, it could mean something else, but...
Magnificent.
WHO TF PUT AN AD JUST BEFORE HE CAME IN 😂 WHY
Luke Anatol I was excited about him starting to play when suddenly, a freaking ad comes on. Haha
The movements impecaabble Bravo
Ads are intentionally placed to produce maximum irritation, thus motivating those viewing for free to purchase UA-cam's premium "ad free" service.
Samuel Stoner I hadn’t noticed the interruption (oh that’s right, I subscribe to the Premuium service). If UA-cam didn’t post this supported by ads,how else would the people who are complaining about ads have the opportunity to see it at all?
@@smilingene Without ads, those who didn't want to spend their money for Premium would simply have to entertain themselves elsewhere. You are absolutely correct that advertising is what makes the free option possible.
There are free ad blockers. I don't know why we need to keep going on about ads when the solution is/seems so simple.
@@dionlindsay2 right?? i haven't had ads interrupt my youtube videos for years

its 3 am and I have an exam at 9. I want to go to sleep but every time the melodies twist into something I don't want to let go of. Beautiful. And tragic, in my case.
Lil Comment, dont mind me how did you do at your exam?

its 3:30 am and i have class tomorrow but i was studying all this day, its time to rest for a while
@@lilnonono5942 Glad your exam went well. Listening to a performance like this one of a piece as exquisite as Dvorak's cello masterpiece before an exam could only clear the cobwebs from one's brain and increase one's chances of a successful result. A clear, calm, well-rested mind is IMO the greatest asset for any exam. Actually studying is secondary.
