Very helpful for learning all the buttons and stuff. Hypermesh is a bit overwhelming with its archaic UI. Nice videos for learning the software side of FEA
@@UnpopularMechanics Actually I hate the new GUI (to be fair I hate the old GUI too). But if you open just HyperMesh (as opposed to HyperWorks) you get the old GUI. I can tell they have made slight updates to the HM gui but it still looks like the "old" gui style. The new one hides too much of the functionality.
+Nik Sure thing. I was going to record a video on exporting a mesh from hypermesh and import into ls-prepost. Followed by a prepost tutorial and how to simulate a dyna model. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
Hi! Thanks for your efforts in explaining those basics in HyperMesh! As Im new to FE analysis I wanted to know your opinion on what are the most convinient programm to make meshes? Ive heard of ICEM, that you can also make meshes here and import them to analysis modules. What can you say about inner ansys mesher ? Is it usefull?
Well, a lot of it will depend on the FEA solver that you will be using because you will need a meshing program which can export in a format that you can use. Aside from that, Hypermesh is great all around meshing tool, Truegrid is for difficult geometries for hexa meshing but has a really steep learning curve, Beta Ana’s is another really good all around mesher. I’ve never used ICEM or the ANSYS mesher so I can speak to much there. It really also depends on what your project it and what kind of mesh you need. If you are mainly focused on 2D meshes and some tetrahedral parts then any program would be fine. I know Hypermesh and Ansa can work with hexa meshing fairly well too and that would be the part that causes to most problems.
salve, posso fare una domanda generale? per lanciare Hypermesh, dopo aver installato correttamente e attivato la licenza, è necessario essere sempre collegati alla rete Ethernet?
Thanks!! how can i create mesh surface using XYZ data (topography data)?, in the video you did it with few points, but in case a lot of points what is the way ? , thahk You!!
So you have a series of points in 3D space that you want to connect with a mesh? If it’s a simple geometry, you will have to first “wrap” the points and create a surface, which you can then mesh. I’ve never done this in LS-Prepost but I can look
@@UnpopularMechanics thanks for response!, yes, i have 3D database (XYZ coordinates) about 5000 points approx, as you say, i should wrap, but i dont know how connect.

Within Hypermesh there is a target element size that you input. There are stricter guidelines that you can implement to set things like minimum edge length and certain element quality. What type of mesh are you creating? 2D or 3D?
Ah the classic hypermesh removes random panels problem. I believe that there is a config file in the hypermesh directory that you can just delete to revert everything. I'll look into it. You can always reinstall as a last resort!

Love the simplified explanation of the interface. Super useful to me as I try to understand how things are organized.
Awesome, I’m glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the introduction to HyperMesh! Really simple and easy to follow
Really enjoy your vids, simple and straight to the point.
Thanks! Glad they are helpful

Honestly, most of these software have archaic UI. Hyperworks just updated it though in their latest release so it looks CLEAN

Thank you for the free tutorial!
Thank´s a lot for your time, was helpfull.
Glad it helped!
Thanks. Very helpful.
Great tutorial!
Hello, thank you for this useful tutorial.
I don't know why but I can't see the model window on the left, there is a way to show it up ?
Probably an issue that it's hidden. See if you can reactivate that window through the toolbars tab at the top

What program did you use to get those points? Usually, there is a function in those types of software to do a wrap.
