21वीं सदी में यदि किसी एक शख्स को आतंक का पर्याय कहा जा सकता है तो वह शख्स ओसामा बिन लादेन ही होगा. एक शख्स जिसने अभेद्य से दिखने वाले अमेरिकी साम्राज्य से टकराने का दुस्साहस किया और बदले में उसे जान गंवानी पड़ी. अमेरिका के ट्विन टावर्स नामक मशहूर इमारत पर हमले की साजिश करने वाले इस मास्टरमाइंड को अमेरिकी सुरक्षाबलों ने आज ही के दिन साल 2011 में मार गिराया था. उसे अलकायदा नामक आतंकवादी व मुस्लिम संगठन का संस्थापक माना जाता है.
जानें कैसे मारा गया ओसामा...
1. ओसामा पाकिस्तान के एबोटाबाद नामक जगह पर छिपा हुआ था, यहां अमेरिकी सुरक्षाबलों में बेहद मारक जाने वाले नेवी सील्स ने आधी रात में हमला कर दिया. यह ऑपरेशन लंबे समय तक चला और उन्होंने ओसामा को मार गिराया.
2. अमेरिकी सुरक्षाबलों ने इस ऑपरेशन में ओसामा समेत और पांच लोगों को मार गिराया, जिसमें उसका बेटा भी शामिल था.
3. इस ऑपरेशन का वीडियो अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति बराक ओबामा और दूसरे अमेरिकी दिग्गज नेताओं ने लाइव देखा.
4. ओसामा के इस ठिकाने से उन्हें कई सीडी, डीवीडी और हार्ड ड्राइव मिले, इनमें आतंकियों से जुड़ी अहम जानकारियां थीं.
5. ओसामा को मौत के घाट उतारने के लिए अमेरिकी खुफिया एजेंसी "सीआईए" ने Operation Neptune Spear कोड नाम से मिशन चलाया था.
6. कहते हैं कि ओसामा की मौत के चौबीस घंटों के भीतर ही उसे अरब सागर में दफना दिया गया था.

The notorious, 54-year-old leader of Al Qaeda, the terrorist network of Islamic extremists, had been the target of a nearly decade-long international manhunt.
The raid began around 1 a.m. local time, when 23 U.S. Navy SEALs in two Black Hawk helicopters descended on the compound in Abbottabad, a tourist and military center north of Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad. One of the helicopters crash-landed into the compound but no one aboard was hurt. During the raid, which lasted approximately 40 minutes, five people, including bin Laden and one of his adult sons, were killed by U.S. gunfire. No Americans were injured in the assault.
