I take serious issue with UFC 3 grappling being skill based. It isn’t the cheesiest of any style of fighting game by far. Some of the top position hits were ridiculously OP and not truly defendable. Grappling was based off the fighters skill points more so than the players “skill”. In stand up there was always so much more you can do. In some ground positions it was block or one escape. Literally two options and if opponent knew that it was easy to stuff the escape.
They improved skin (can see swelling now) like this is the only franchise in ea that’s be it smaller improvements this year none the less constantly improving and the fact they took ultimate team out. Gonna buy it
Sports games in general ( not racing games, they’ve actually progressed ) have been the same for about 6-7 years. Just roster and very very very slight graphic updates.

Yeap haven’t played it, just watched. After watching some ufc4 ground£, I went back and watched some ufc3 ground£. In my opinion, there’s actually been a HUGE downgrade. If you asked me which game came out first w/o any prior knowledge, I would say 4
The only bad thing with the UFC games is replay ability, once you finish career mode there’s nothing to do. It needs a GM/owner mode were you say run the UFC, you plan the fight cards what cities and stuff like that
I didn't like the difficulty jumps in the last one I played but the 10 hour trial I got through ea access definitely makes me want to buy it and keep going its definitely fun

Cant even use a caf with CUSTOM move set only preset outside of career and by the time you get far in prestiging moves the careers over and you can’t even use it the way you built him afterwards and progress with leveling up moves which I assumed I was gonna be doing online after career . Smh

I haven't played a ufc game in a while. I really like this game so far. I'm only about 12 hrs in so I'm still learning. I have seen some bugs though. Clothing glitches and menu options go missing. I love the kumite and backyard stuff they added. Especially the mortal kombat stuff. I laughed my ass off. This review was spot on.

Blood has been improved from UFC 3 in my opinion... there's more of it and the physics are better, it stays where it lands and smears.. IMO tho... You can change the camera angle, there is a few to choose from.. punches do look weak though, I agree.
Everytime a new UFC game drops, i remember how much i loved Fight Night😂 i had the first one, played it a ton! And i remember making Schwarzenegger with facial scan in FN4 .. Just amazing!
As a hardcore MMA fan, playing EA UFC games is almost painful sometimes. UFC 4 looks like it has some slight improvements in all areas, but not enough to warrant paying £50 for it. It's still severely lacking in obvious areas. Why doesn't each weight class have *at least* the top 15 fighters in that weight class? They can put CM Punk in the game, but not Calvin Kattar? Why are there no interactive press conferences? Half the entertainment of MMA is watching the media stuff. I'll probably end up buying this anyway when the price drops, but definitely not at full price. It looks too similar to the last game.
How would you have the interactive press conferences go? Like questions that effect the fighters salary or what? I understand everything else you said I’m just curious what you mean by that.
I wanted to see more out of the fight stuff. Press conferences and weigh-ins where the player can choose how to react to comments and criticism. In 3 they gave you the option to spend training time to build your rep and get discounts on your gym. I would've liked to see that expanded upon. I like the fighter approval system where you can more or less choose a rival instead of having one randomly assigned to you. I love the fight system but everything else kinda takes me out of the world.
Graphics have definitely taken a hit in the new game. Could be because of upgraded gameplay, but I think the system manufacturers are telling them to tone down graphics for new games that are coming out right before next gen, so when next gen comes out, the graphics look crazy. I remember some of the last games on 360 right before One came out, graphics dropped.
Agree on the ground punching it does feel weaker (I’m casual ufc gamer) but it is a lot better (using 10 hour trail) but legit would love a fight night

the big issues I've noticed is that the Crowd pops in and out from time to time on Event Mode. And the Championship is Glitched. The title Belt doesn't make an appearance at all until Dana awards you the belt, which is also bugged because Dana is shown with his hands empty, then all of a sudden the title pops in around your waist.
Hopefully when Venum takes over the sponsorship deal(between December-March) they'll update the attire... Reebok have basically just given up and stopped trying with these designs
I haven’t played these games in a long time but I played the dreamcast version back in the day we would have game nights playing ufc and soul caliber for hours.
Played through the Career mode and got to GOAT and double champ, honestly the impact is definitely there with the SFX. That's a big part of how they feel. Plus, most of the footage used here is from early in the career and thus have lower-leveled moves (every move levels up with use in Career, from 1 to 5 and even prestige) so they're made to look not too impactful just yet.
This is my first UFC game, I am very surprised I like it alot. I haven't only played it for a few days but it refreshing to find a new fun game to play
I'm enjoying the game. Fights seem more realistic with the new clinch game, and punch swaying and countering feels good. Also stand and bang in the backyard is super fun.. The ground KOs and TKO are the only problem I have with it..
This game, just as any ea ufc game, still has unresponsible controls, the AI still absorbs an unrealistic number of punches to the head without getting knocked out and goes for more than 5 takedown attempts almost everyround (absolutely unrealistic), most punches (AI and player) don't really seem to connect (but some still rock opponents). I still play the old gen ufc games (2009, 2010 and 3) and they still kick any ea ufc game's ass.
How does it compare the the first one? I still have the first one and I've been itching to try another one, but I'm thinking of just installing the first one and going from there.

If you played ufc 2 ufc 3 and then 4 in a close time frame the mechanics are way different between games and the movement speed is alot better. Just miss the environmental moves like super man punches off the cage, etc
I love the UFC, watched the OG tournaments with limited rules and no weight classes. But as a gamer, I know better and respect myself too much to buy a grEAdy Sports game.
Anime games for the most part are in the same boat as sports games, they both try to feed of your love of something by making you believe you can re-live that in a video game.

You know what's weird, recently I started playing UFC 3 again, I used to get blood all the time. Now no matter what I do, I can't get a single drop of blood, even when I seem to cut the opponent, it looks more like a scar because nothing comes out. Maybe my game is just glitched but yeah. I've heard a lot of people saying this game has a lot more blood, and that's why I play the game, to brutally best up people and watch them bleed, though I saw some people say it's hard to make them bleed, or not a lot.
@@garythesnail559 That's what I do, recently I've been getting more blood, but it's still random. I could do the same thing two matches in a row and one will have blood, one won't.
Major issues with the game is following up on strikes. If you get a stun or a knock down There is always hesitation. My guy will stand there for a half second then punch or actiave an animation.
Yeah the button response is off. It was worse in the previous. Free combinations should have always been there. It makes striking predictable if you can't freely flow your own combos.
I really like the game. Been having a ton a fun with it. Career mode aka “opportunity mode” is super addicting. Bought it with no expectations to be the greatest fighting game ever.
This game will be in EA Access vault by Christmas and if not will have a sale at half price. Game feels bare bones, career was hyped to be more in depth and its not
With most sports titles I believe it is smarter to wait until a year where they get it right, this seems every 3-4 years between titles. But I do have to say for the UFC titles they seem to be lacking in the offline create your own story style of sports game. Fifa has great story lines which other sports titles should borrow from, but once you've played the story line then there's no reason to play it again. I wish there was more variety in sports storylines I guess is what I'm getting at. *********RANT COMPLETED ***********

It’s just UFC 3 with an updated career mode and a few quality of life improvements. It could seriously pass off as DLC for UFC 3.

Played through the Career mode and got to GOAT and double champ, honestly the impact is definitely there with the SFX. That's a big part of how they feel. Plus, most of the footage used here is from early in the career and thus have lower-leveled moves (every move levels up with use in Career, from 1 to 5 and even prestige) so they're made to look not too impactful just yet.

They're not. They strikes are softer and less responsive. Its more arcadey than the last game. Idk what EA does with our money

The stuff they added in this game could have been added in an update to UFC 3
I'm enjoying the game. Fights seem more realistic with the new clinch game, and punch swaying and countering feels good. Also stand and bang in the backyard is super fun.. The ground KOs and TKO are the only problem I have with it..

This game, just as any ea ufc game, still has unresponsible controls, the AI still absorbs an unrealistic number of punches to the head without getting knocked out and goes for more than 5 takedown attempts almost everyround (absolutely unrealistic), most punches (AI and player) don't really seem to connect (but some still rock opponents). I still play the old gen ufc games (2009, 2010 and 3) and they still kick any ea ufc game's ass.

They should definitely allow you to replay and edit your fights like Fight Night smh so many nice combos I wanna clip

Yeah I played all the old school UFC games on xbox 360 and upgraded to PC and I've been in a drought for 7 years without a UFC game.
I preordered it the day it we were able to and I can tell you... this is a grapplers game if you love grappling this game is for you. there’s so much more options and grappling animation
If you played ufc 2 ufc 3 and then 4 in a close time frame the mechanics are way different between games and the movement speed is alot better. Just miss the environmental moves like super man punches off the cage, etc

I love the UFC, watched the OG tournaments with limited rules and no weight classes. But as a gamer, I know better and respect myself too much to buy a grEAdy Sports game.

Anime games for the most part are in the same boat as sports games, they both try to feed of your love of something by making you believe you can re-live that in a video game.

@@hcazdub honestly almost every single game that is multiplayer based. Dragon ball fighter z, jump force, tekken. Games that have a season pass. If you pay 60 bucks for a game, it needs to have enough content, content accessible without a debit or credit card.

You know what's weird, recently I started playing UFC 3 again, I used to get blood all the time. Now no matter what I do, I can't get a single drop of blood, even when I seem to cut the opponent, it looks more like a scar because nothing comes out. Maybe my game is just glitched but yeah. I've heard a lot of people saying this game has a lot more blood, and that's why I play the game, to brutally best up people and watch them bleed, though I saw some people say it's hard to make them bleed, or not a lot.
Same with me, the first few years of having UFC 3 it could get bloody, but the past year it’s been like blood is turned off or some shit, total trash.

Major issues with the game is following up on strikes. If you get a stun or a knock down There is always hesitation. My guy will stand there for a half second then punch or actiave an animation.
Yeah the button response is off. It was worse in the previous. Free combinations should have always been there. It makes striking predictable if you can't freely flow your own combos.
This game is free on ps plus now and im still watching this to see if its worth it😂

I really like the game. Been having a ton a fun with it. Career mode aka “opportunity mode” is super addicting. Bought it with no expectations to be the greatest fighting game ever.
This game will be in EA Access vault by Christmas and if not will have a sale at half price. Game feels bare bones, career was hyped to be more in depth and its not

With most sports titles I believe it is smarter to wait until a year where they get it right, this seems every 3-4 years between titles. But I do have to say for the UFC titles they seem to be lacking in the offline create your own story style of sports game. Fifa has great story lines which other sports titles should borrow from, but once you've played the story line then there's no reason to play it again. I wish there was more variety in sports storylines I guess is what I'm getting at. *********RANT COMPLETED ***********
