- So, here it is. A video on Alex's mind wipe. I have been working on this for roughly a month, and it’s finally in a place where I’m moderately happy with the outcome. It’s my attempt to explore who Kara and Alex are without each other.
The core idea was to capture Kara’s abandonment issues and what happens to her when the one person who always felt like home is ripped away from her. Not entirely, of course, but you get it. So then, who is Supergirl, who is Kara without Alex? What happens when Kara loses the person who has always been there to hold her up when she falls? The short answer would be that she nearly winds up dead. That’s essentially what this video is about. Alex’s absence is like a gaping wound that leaves Kara vulnerable and weak. Of course, it’s not just Kara. Alex is equally lost. All her life, Alex has been driven to protect Kara. It’s what makes her who she is, and without that urge driving her, Alex has little to no idea what and who she’s fighting for. When she starts to connect with Supergirl, Alex is able to find some of that purpose again.
Eventually, they do find their way back to each other because, as Clark puts it, in every universe, Kara and Alex will pull together. It’s not easy, but it is inevitable. To the world, they are Supergirl and Director Danvers, but to each other, they will always be nothing more and nothing less than Kara and Alex. That’s who they are, that’s who they were destined to be, and at the end of the day, that is all that matters.
I have no idea how much of that actually comes through in the video, but I tried? Let me know what you think!

I like how Alex was starting to care about Supergirl even before she got hey meno memories back. Kara had such a light inside her that was nearly impossible not to gravitate to. But even before the memories returned Alex was becoming protective of her, concerned about her feelings, and started opening up to her about her own concerns. I also noticed that Alex could feel when she was making a choice that wasn't right. He instincts always were about Kara, she defended her without thinking, that kind of instinct doesn't require memories. But even before the memories came back she started noticing Supergirl acting oddly. Supergirl was suddenly overprotective, risking getting caught just to check on Alex, refused to let Alex go with her, and then there was Red Daughter's loft. Supergirl was suddenly compassionate, soft spoken, and when Alex was crying, I love how Chyler showed some semblance of recognition. Alex may not have had the memories, but she would know Kara's touch. When she gently laid her hand on Alex's you could see the light bulb going off.

I didn't like how long they drug out Alex's mind wipe in season 4. I felt like 10 episodes was too much. I get that what they were doing was creating an emotional scene when she got her memories back, but 10 episodes? I feel like it hurt the show because they never quite got that feeling between the 2 of them back again.
This was so beautiful and well done and I totally understood what you did here. These two at the end of the day will always find each other and be there for one another their relationship is so pure and good and I've enjoyed them and this video. immensely.

The only time Kara ever threatened a human was when a gun was pulled on Alex. She made it clear, threaten Alex and the Supergirl good girl gloves come off, morals go out the window.
The way they define each other through the link they had to the other only is quite... unsettling. It either mean an unhealthy codependent relationship or plain soulmate. I chose the second lol I also found their chemestry together amazing and since they are not blood related, I like that soulmate theory. And since, when even with the love of their life they still think of the others as the most important person of their life, it fit right in the soulmate theory ^^ (or the unhealthy codependent thing but it's a fiction so i chose the soulmate one xD)

I can see how Alex's mind-wipe could go unbelievably wrong and she ends up developing *romantic* love for Kara; for she's forgotten that Kara's her adopted sister but she remembers that Kara's supergirl, and that she loves her, and gets all manner of confused and ends up trying to date her.
