HI Dave yoru TK8 Videos are excellent for those of us that use Tony Kyper's TK8 software. But by now adding the PDF file/notes is always an additional assist. Thanks for your solidarity with the TK8 presentations.
Thank you for including the video notes! They make following along and recollection so much easier. Also, many thanks for making Tony's tools so much easier to understand and use.
Great video. I am always amazed at what you see in the original images to improve. I think adding notes in a PDF file is a great idea. It would certainly help me. Thanks
Love your notes approach. PLEASE continue doing this as it saves time in duplicating your processes. Thanks.
Written notes would be very helpful with my learning process. Title amusing - “rooted” has a totally different meaning in Australia! Keep up the good work.
The addition of notes is a great idea!!!! Thanks for all the hard work in producing these videos
As always Dave another great Tutorial and with regard to the notes, excellent idea.
Notes are a great idea so I would be love to see it as a regular feature of your already excellent videos.
Notes are an excellent learning guide and reference document. Please continue. Thanks
Thanks Dave. Finally paint with selection got into my slow brain this time.
I usually watch the video once. Then practice with your image, along with the video, section by section. The PDF notes are more convenience, but I am afraid it would take quite more effort from you, which is a little uneasy to me.
Great work, Dave! I think the PDF notes are extremely helpful, and I’ll go further to ask how you put the notes together. I would like to do something similar for my edits as a record keeping practice for how I get from out-of-Camera to finished image. Occasionally I’ll go back to an image I’ve edited, to refine or come up with a different creative take, and can’t remember exactly how I got to the previous finished look. Thanks for the instruction. My editing has markedly improved since I discovered your tutorials.
Yes Dave I’d like to try using the notes. I think it’s a good idea. Thanks Mario
Dave, great tutorials and having the notes as well would be great to use on other images. Keep up the great work. 👍🏻
The notes and a PDF is a great addition. Trying to follow along the video with my photo is stopping rewinding, etc. The notes I can refer to at anytime in any photo. I have a notebook full of what I took from your videos. Then, I have to go find the video cause I missed something when I want to do something similar to one of my photos. I sure wish I had your notes for some of your Studio 2 things.
Thanks again, Dave. I love the notes.
Thanks!
Thank you Steve.
Another super video! I see many want notes but it adds to your work and takes your time. My guess is people would not use them as much as they think and your video instructions are so clear notes aren’t that necessary.
The notes are great. Please continue including them! Thanks
Another fantastic tutorial Dave! Most interesting part for me was where you used sampled color brushes to dodge and burn. My guess the reason is because when using a brush with similar color characteristics to the area being worked on, the brush acquires more subtlety. If this is incorrect I’m sure you will let us know. Thank again!
Thanks. Notes are very good
Thank you Dave for this new tutorial .Again something to learn. What a good idea to provide us the notes ! Go ahead please! :-)
The notes would be great to have!
Thanks for taking the mystery of using the panel in PS. Well done demonstrations. This must be in IL?
I also like the notes. Why don't you ask a bit of money for them?!
If. you do not see the download link for Dave's notes under the Video, just click on "Show More" and you will see it along with all the other links that Dave provides.
I printed the notes too, but was Very Angry and even Despondent when my brand new printer failed to print the second page with note #3 on it. Lol
Great tutorial :-) - are the TK8 actions available to download? TIA
The actions you saw in the Combo Panel come with the TK8 Plugin For Photoshop.
@@thejoyofeditingwithdavekelly - I have TK8 (Newbie) but do not have those actions (I have watched tutorial on how to load etc)
@@stevegauldphotography I have given some free actions and they can be found in various video descriptions. I am not sure what videos those actions are in. Here is one I get asked for a lot, the before after action: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1EkUXWtC9rA6aWZv_Msc53CWx-KaXLlP0?usp=sharing
As always, I keep learning. I feel you have made enough adjustment to this image that the PDF instruction sheet is a great idea. I can keep it for future learning on other images. I saw Tony's shout out to you and think you richly deserve it. Thanks for yet another great TK Friday.
Dave, Your tutorials are terrific and the thought of having NOTES is even better yet!
Dave, I would love having the notes to the video lessons. It would be a welcomed addition to your already super tutorials.
Dave, I would appreciate the editing notes. Often it can be quite sometime that I have an image that I think needs one of your editing techniques. Usually I can remember which UA-cam tutorial it was in, but then I need to view the tutorial to find exactly where the technique I was thinking of is located. Notes would be very helpful with this. I now incorporate some of your techniques almost universally, but it is the extra "gems" that are called for less frequently that I am referring to. I know, I am being clear as mud, .....but it covers the ground. 😁......and thanks once more for the time and effort you put into these. TK Friday is always a good day..
I enjoyed this video as always Dave. I also think the notes are a great idea for helping understand the mechanics of the steps you followed.
Love your videos and I never miss one.I am learning something new every week, so much for the old dog and new tricks excuse. The new editing notes is a fantastic idea. Keep up the good work
Dave - first - I thought it was great that Tony Kuyper recognized your tutorials. For sure they are great and have been extremely helpful as I have commented many times. I really like your notes. I have been making notes myself for most of your tutorials but for sure yours are better than mine. I know I will refer to often as it is much easier for me to be remind myself of a particular technique you used by scanning the notes rather than trying to find a the corresponding spot in a youtube video. Hope you keep generating these!
I would welcome notes, as it is an excellent guide. Really enjoying watching and learning on TK Friday :)
Dave I always enjoy the TK Friday video and would definitely like the PDF. I feel it would be very useful. Cheers!
Love the note ideas keep them coming! Great work!11
The PDF notes are very helpful and I hope you continue to offer them. Thank you, Dave!
Great tutorial and love the notes, the PDF is a fantastic idea
Another wonderful tutorial Dave. I look forward to Friday mornings in order to learn something new. Thank you for all of the effort you put into this. Making your class notes is a fabulous idea.
Another great tutorial. Really expands TK8 potential. The pdf probably helps those with accessibility issues. What really helps me is the road map which helps me conceptualize what needs done in the image. Thanks. Your Joy of Editing is contagious.
Great video. I learned so much which I'm afraid I'll soon forget so, YES, keep adding the PDF instructions. Thank you.
Just started watching the video but had to immediately mention that I love the notes addition to the video! I often forget the steps you took to achieve certain results and the notes will be a quick way to jog my memory
Another very helpful video, thanks Dave! I think you've used that photo before but lovely with all those textures. I found another TK8 feature to give an image some "pop" is the RGB to LAB action. Sean Bagshaw advises simply add a curves adj. that takes in the white and black points a bit. Wow, so many cool features in TK8! And yes, I'd love for you to include PDFs of your steps. That would be very helpful to have on hand when you forgot a step or two. Who knows, maybe you could eventually make an ebook of your tips and tricks and sell it.
Super useful to have the PDFs! Makes it so easy to reference without scrubbing through the video. Thanks! I always learn something new watching your tutorials.
Hi David - Many thanks for your fantastic videos. Would greatly appreciate your PDF files for download as they enhance recall and review of your techniques.
Late getting to you for this one Dave… Great stuff as usual. Thanks to your tutorials, I have gained enough confidence to experiment using the colour channel selection when creating masks.. works well with the colour grading tool…. Keep ‘em coming…..!
I love the editing notes. I even printed them. Keep them coming. I look forward to TK Friday every week. This one was great. I have been a long time subscriber but I don't make many comments. Yours are some of the best tutorials out there. Thanks.
Awesome! Thank you!
Another great tutorial. Thanks Dave. I love the PDF instruction idea. I have been writing notes for your TK8 tip and it makes my editing easier and fun.
Dave, interesting addition with your PDF notes. I do think these would be helpful, especially when there are multiple steps, where I might forget to include one. And while I might not use these PDF notes on every image, having these as a resource to go back to, again on more complicated editing processes, would be helpful. Also, for editing steps that I haven't used before, or rarely use, having these steps would save time, by not having to re-watch that part in the video, instead quickly seeing the steps you used schematically.
Excellent video as always Dave. Notes would be especially useful if you are demonstrating a new and/or more complex technique.
Thanks Tony for another TK Friday. I'm always looking forward for the next one.
Your idea with the notes is great. I'll keep them for future reference and ad the link to the video as well as a screenshot of the picture.
Best regards, Wolfgang
Yet another great TX8 Friday and yes, the additional PDF notes are really helpful and a great reference guide for future images. Things are really moving forward with the Panel and I find that it is now an essential part of my workflow - even if I start in 'Capture One 22' - I always end up in PS and TX8. Love your enthusiasm and off the cuff remarks. Please keep the lessons coming.
Absolutely Dave, the notes would be very helpful … Great channel, great videos … love the TK8 Panel!
I have watched many, many of your tuts, but this one is an eye opener as to the possibilities of the TK8 Plugin !!!!! Thanks
Great work and superb educational tutorials Dave. I’ll join the chorus in the refrain ...yes please for the notes.
Dave, The pdf notes are fabulous and a welcome addition. Thanks for providing excellent educational resources.
Love your tutorials. Thank you for creating the PDF. It is very helpful and appreciated if you want to offer them again.
Dave please do me a favor. Look at Max Rive’s photos. How does he make images look sharp, yet soft, completely detailed and dramatic. He to me, is the best photo editor out there. Even if you just get some insight from his work to help I’d be so grateful.
Thank you Dave for all your videos they are extremely helpful and informative. The pdf notes are an excellent addition. Very much appreciated and hope you continue with this process of sharing your notes.
Dave, Notes would be a great help. Being able to go through a work flow step by step would really help learning how to utilize TK8.
I too thank you for the notes and think they can be very helpful especially for those of us who are getting up in years and tend to forget details faster. :) Coincidentally, I've recently been trying to come up with a way to create a searchable list of your TK8 tips/tricks/techniques as they are introduced each week so I can easily return in the future to the particular video and the time position where a specific procedure appears in order to refresh my memory. Thanks again.
Hi Dave, another fantastic video. Thank you for going through your steps but also your thought process. I appreciate the notes and think this is such a great idea. Thanks so much for the TK videos.
Because I not super friendly with English spoken, I really appreciate the PDF note, so I can read and read again . for me it is easier. Thanks
Yes….notes extremely helpful. Please continue to provide, and thanks so much!
Really enjoyed this tutorial David! The notes did help when referring to some of the sliders in the video. Looking forward to future tutorials!
Another wonderful edit. I always look forward to TK Friday. 👍👍
Notes are great- saves me from taking my own, and trying to decipher my handwriting!!!
I regularly make notes whilst following your tutorials so the addition of your pdf files is welcomed.
i would like these notes as i find it difficult to follow along while watching a video. but the video is great for watching the whole process. thanks for all your help.
Yes, yes, yes, I think that this is a wonderful and very helpful tool . Thank you
Very good idea the PDF instruction sheet! Thanks Dave!
Thank you for this episode! The PDF is an excellent idea 👍
Good stuff! I love the notes piece of this for sure. It is something that can be collected and reviewed offline too!
Great tutorial, thank you. Would like to have the notes in upcoming tutorials too.
Yes, Dave I really like the notes. I helps me when I go back to edit my photos.
Notes for the tk8 videos is a great idea, hope it becomes a standard practice...
The notes are a great idea Dave! Brilliant tuition as always. Many thanks!
I would love notes. Sean Bagshaw does this and it's a great addition to his tuition videos.
I love the notes. Great while in learning phase what each tool truly does.
Tutorials are so good already Dave but the notes will make them even better
Yes, continue using the notes as they’re very helpful.
Another great editing video and like so many others I really appreciate the notes and think it is a fabulous addition. You have inspired me to get out today, even though it is raining and overcast, to take some images so that I can come back to the computer to do some TK8 edits and practice. Thanks again and I really appreciate the time and effort that goes into each video.
Yes Dave, I like this idea of notes, Thank you
😀
Great idea to provide the pdf. Please do more. Great tutorial again
Awesome video Dave….I currently live in an area with parks with the exact same landscape characteristics as this image and I’ve really struggled with how to edit them to achieve acceptable results. Your demonstrated steps on this video will be immensely helpful! Thanks as always!
I think the notes are a very good idea and hope you can continue them.
Dave I think the notes are a fantastic idea. Please continue.
The notes are a great addition and I hope to see more of them. Thanks!!
Awesome idea with the PDF Dave, more please.
Love the notes, thanks for all the fort you put in.
Happiness is TK Friday! Great tutorial and I learned so much. About 20 to 22 minutes into this video you solved one problem I find in my images. A color area too bright and vibrant-well you solved the moss in the upper right side being too bright and vibrant. Of course there were many other helpful tips.
Yes I plan on downloading the notes. I expect them to be very helpful.
Lastly I enjoy you humorous asides and even trying to sing a short phrase. Your relaxed and humorous presentation style make all you tutorials enjoyable. I will be ready for you next tutorial. Thanks Dave!
Thanks Stephen.
What you do to these images is incredible! The effort you put into this is much appreciated. It not only helps train the eye but better understand the TK panels, which are amazing contributions by Tony (thank you very much, Tony!). If you are already doing the notes for yourself, making them available to us would be great. I'd hesitate to ask you do to more for us if you are not already doing the notes for yourself!
I'm missing something, Dave. Why dodge with color rather than white?? You choose the color but then the foreground color is showing white when you dodge. Thanks for any clarity you can provide!
Thanks Steve. I don't always dodge with color but some times I do like the effect better. Most of the time I just dodge with white. I went back and saw what I did in the video. I changed the color before I chose the 50% gray Dodge Layer. I should have waited until I clicked on the Dodge action before changing the color. When you click the dodge action it gives you a white brush by default but you can always change it to a color after clicking on the dodge action. I am glad you caught that because I missed it during the edit. I still got the dodging effect I wanted but not the color dodge.
As always, great info. The notes will be helpful, altho I'm sure they'll be a lot of work. Perhaps one image a month could be done so as not to overwhelm you with extra work. Anything you decide will be great. Thanks so much
Thanks Steve.
Nice one, Dave! And a clever rubric.
Yes, Notes are good/better, Thanks
Do you have any ideas why it might be I can’t change opacity or flow using the keyboard? Nothing happens. Thanks.
Maybe a shortcut got changed. Numbers 1 thru 0 will change Opacity of a Brush. Shift 1 thru Shift 0 will change the Flow of the brush. I was looking in Photoshop Preferences but I haven't come up with an answer yet. 0 is 100% Brush Opacity while Shift 0 is 100% Flow. Maybe someone will know the answer and comment. I will keep looking.
Yes, notes would be great thanks
Yeah, provide notes. Great idea.
