@@SexySkoChick Agreed! Marlon originated the role of Stanley in the stage version of Streetcar Named Desire. Kim Hunter also originated the role of Stella in the stage version of Streetcar Named Desire.
I feel like Treat Williams's portrayal of Stanley is more animal-like than Brando's, for example, Williams's Stanley takes off his shirt whenever he gets the chance, where as Brando doesn't do it that often......
It is the best (though I'd have killed to see the great Blanchett's)--because she's Strong, and not the fluttering hummingbird everyone does...Treat's a wife-beater and can't stand him in anything. Baldwin really made me (not completely) forget Brando. After he did that Orton piece, he truly changed as an actor....
i feel like im watching somebody impersonate Brando. Not a fan of that actor at all. Ann Margaret is completely believable as Blanche - the best Blanche on film so far.
sonaliegh is right but I can't reply to the comment. Love Treat Williams and Beverly D'Angelo in Hair. Beverly is really good here but this Streetcar is kind of weird so far. I feel like I'm watching actors from two movies.
I always felt Ann played her more lucidly than did Jessica and Vivien. I preferred their versions more, though I did enjoy this variation on the role and felt her acting was excellent. Beverly was very disappointing as Stella, almost as if she didn't give at all.
What year was this made? The acting is.. Alright. That's all I can say now since I, sadly, haven't watched the 1951 version with Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh.
Noone plays Stanley like Marlon Brando
Marlon's my FAVORITE Stanley of all TIME! he was BORN for that part! I freakin fell in LOVE with him in there! 😏🔥😱🥵😳

@@ZacBrzuchalski yep! Marlon WAS Stanley he was BORN for THAT role 😏
Am I the only one who laughed when Stanley imitated the cat.
She's so true to the play! Its amazing because she's exactly how i imagined her in my head!
Beverley D'Angelo AND Ann-Margret in the one film....Oh Yeah!!!!!
She is the hottest Blanche DuBois for sure!!

Ann-Margret is the only good thing about this version.

Actually Tennessee Williams ASKED Ann Margret to do this revival himself. He died during production.
This is interesting for Ann-Margret and Beverly D'Angelo, but the original is by far the best.
yes! totes agree Vivien and Marlon's chemistry there and the music that plays in the scene 🔥😱

I LOVE the 1951 film! it's the GREATEST one! I'm in luv with Marlon 😱🔥😳🥵😏
4:23 LOL
Way too beautiful to play Blanche's part. She looks hotter than Beverly D'Angelo... but very good performance though.

Jessica Tandy (originated Blanche in the stage version)..... or Jessica Lange.
I don't like Stanley....too primitive!Wonder how the hell Stella was attracted to such an animal!
What a disappointment. Ann Margret is ok, she comes off as a touch to hard and Treat Williams is the lamest Stanley of all time!

the original is the BEST! 😱 oh my gawsh MARLON 😳🔥🥵😏
This actor trolls Brando
forget about brando? what? no.
the best Stanley EVER! 😳 he MADE the role 🔥😱🥵😏
Too rattled off...the lines all sound the same. No nuance. I love Ann-Margaret, but this is a shrill performance. I much prefer Vivien Leigh's...
Awful!.. no version can touch Marlon Brando, Kim Hunter, and Vivian Leigh
Shut up, Ann Margret is BRILLIANT.
@@DeepScreenAnalysis I love Ann Margaret... but not in this.. IMO!!.. get it?
@@DeepScreenAnalysis F off!
this version sucks
