I picked up the Ace Pro a couple of days ago and just getting used to it. I love my laptop but hate to drag it on trips so will try the tablet thing as well.

Thanks you for your continuous content. I have the Ace Pro and it is working out okay in terms of image captures but the audio is not so good. Are you having many issues with the sound dropping so low that you cannot hear your voice? I am working with Insta360 about the issue but so far it is a back and forth thing. Hopefully they can improve on it without me having to use an external mic for all of my captures. I must say, that even though gopro does not have the best audio, I have never had to make a decision of whether I needed an external mic, because I could usually use the audio quality. I enjoy ambiant noise and being able to hear people around me in conversation. With the Ace Pro, it mutes the sound so low and the muted sound lasts a very long period before it returns to normal. I use "stereo" instead of wind reduction, because I think the wind reduction setting makes it worst. Maybe I have a bad camera, but hope to find out before my return window closes so I can exchange it.
hmm.. I haven't had any issues with sound, I do a lot of vlogging with it and in my car about 3 feet away from the camera, as you can see, the sound is fine. tbh, I had to turn the volume down in post when I do these videos.
@@mstuartkendall Yah I would, you could have a defective one, that does happen from time to time. I'm bad luck with stuff like this, I always get defective units, but not this time though. I hope lol

How will this compare to using normal video mode in daylight....; other question on the software, can you use the insta360 app on the tablet as well (so not the phone) for eg the AI features? I dont want to use the phone since the screen is too small and i would rather prefer using a tablet instead.
I had it on day time mistaken with purevideo, it's wasn't too bad, that mode will start to denoise when it detects it and you don't see too much of that during bright conditions. Yes, a tablet is essential a cell phone, same Android OS, pretty much anything you do with a phone you can do on your tablet other then the voice/text part, even then you can buy tablets with SIM capabilities.
I've been experimenting with low light and non Pure video mode to see if the camera can do as well as Go Pro or djiA4 . Pure video goes a bit soft or over brightens (not overexposes) so I've been mucking with shutters, iso max, and ev comp.Hard to tell what settings or what unless I announce them to myself vocally or snapshot with camera. Been using some videos and settings others have recommended on other moto vlog videos. It feels hit or miss sometimes.
Yah, all cameras have their "thing", with the Ace Pro, it's hard to find that median where we transition from bright to low light. Most cameras fail in this stage of lighting change and why we have to set it to different modes, DJI also has a low light shooting mode which you have to manually change like the PureVideo mode.
Lol I have the ace pro and owned 3 gopros, go pros are trash compared to the ace pro. All gopros overheat and freeze far to often. I've shot hundreds if not thousands of hours of footage on go pro. I have about 15 hrs so far on ace pro and the only thing I think needs work is wind reduction
Get the external mic adapter and deadcat for wind noise with the Ace Pro. I got to use mine on the Milwaukee River a couple of times and it was super windy and the Ace Pro did awesome 👍
I have all the brands, the older GoPros aren't as prone to overheating as the newer gen ones, I still my 4 Silver and Session 5 which I loved and they don't have heating issues. I think the overheating issues started in Gen6, correct me if I'm wrong.
@@BassManStrikes I just commented above about audio quality issues I am having with the Ace Pro. I am not a fan of having to use an external mic, but at this point, its either an external mic or continue to have most of my audio come out so low that it is not usable for anything except music overlays. I have ordered the little microphone that you recommended on one of your reviews, so I will have choices.
No, not via voice, that would chew up battery because it would have to be constantly on sleep mode. The only way to wake up the camera from off position is with the gps remote.

Well. It turns out that the audio issues I was experiencing was entirely “user error”! 🤷🏿♂️

No, not via voice, that would chew up battery because it would have to be constantly on sleep mode. The only way to wake up the camera from off position is with the gps remote.
