Thanks bro your videos are more than helpful!💪👊. Things slowing down for company driver too especially that Chinese new year coming up and I read that LA/LongBeach ports lost work to New York/Jersey ports and other ports because of the jam the ports had earlier this year and many companies lost money and opportunities to make more money. So now they rerouted their containers to other ports.
Thanks for watching bro. Yes it slowing down everywhere. Hopefully it will pick back up by March and by then the Rates should be back to normal. All the ships went to the east coast smh. Now some of those ships are coming back to the west coast because of the bad weather out there.
Watched this video again and you're right about companies they only take you to 2-3 terminals and expect you to know the rest even if you don't have experience. What I had problem with was getting to entrances because the address they give you is never the date for the entrances. This was my first port I went and got lost for about an 30 mins. What I hate about the ports is that there all different and have different procedures to get in and out. Some ask you for company code some don't ask for booking # last four or last five (depends on port) some ask for seal # or container # or license plate number and if your get something wrong they're assholes about it.
They love to give us a hard time. It’s good to have all that stuff written down so you can be prepared even if they don’t ask for it. They are pretty rude to drivers especially new drivers. Always pull up the terminals on google maps it will take you right to it.
Finished my training and receiving my truck today and hitting the ports for the first time. Thanks Ryda for all the content you’ve been posting! Because of it I have a better idea of what to expect inside each terminal!

I know that because I'm a truck driver for 23 years I started when I was 18 years old it's going on 24 years now

It seems like a big klusterfuk nightmare for any new hire drivers these ports have to do a better job of organizing themselves and their workers if they're going to get pro ductive

What does it mean when you say terminate an empty?

He said you waited for 6 hours for a chassis and it's four hours for a load that is 10 hours right there that you're waiting
Sometimes you wait at the ports a whole shift
Where is some good spots to get a used day cab? And what set up?
