an intern with 2+ years of c#, c++ experience doesn't that mean he has worked 2 years in c#/c++? an intern is supposed to be a fresh graduate or a student

Following C++ courses and building C++ applications across your 4 years of uni also counts as 'experience'

Question, how do you take general software experience and switch to a different industry?

Usually by completing projects. Try to pick some small game projects (look for tutorials in Unity3D, Unreal, or from Scratch) and keep building. E.g. ray tracing in one weekend is a good resource.

Hey Mike, I'm 32 and I just started university this year. I have been studying C++ for a year because graphics programming and game dev are the areas that I would like to work in. Do you think is it worth it because of my age? I hope you understand because english is not my native language. By the way, really nice video and greetings from Argentina 😁😁

get general software engineering knowledge and PRACTICE with a tilt towards graphics (API and math), you shouldnt go into it if you will only settle for a graphics role

@@kirillholt2329 Thanks, that's really helpful!. I'm getting software engineering knowledge in the uni and a lot of math so I think I'm doing well. I will start with OpenGL.

Welcome! Always time to change -- age doesn't matter, just need to be willing to learn skills. Math and systems programming are most important :) Lots of folks also pick up things like Unity3D and kind of 'reverse-engineer' their learning (i.e. get familiar with terms and workflow of Unity, and try to learn underlying principles more deeply)
