Hmmmm, say the Tories and New Labour, let's sweep this under the Carpet of History.................. I remember hearing about this on the News every evening as a young lad. A proud moment in British history, and worker
You can blame scab labour or blame the tories who were horrified by the notion of workers rights. I know who the blame lies with. Time to fight back against capitalism again.
To mr ward, from the occupants of fort grunwick, august 76-July 78. An inscription that shows true companionship and loyalty that betrays the scab narrative
Sorry - this is not related to the video - but, Hilary Benn... I mean what happened? I'm not a news archive, so I'm not totally sure, but I think there was some kind of controversy regarding Hilary Benn and property (something to do with a housing development - like a block of flats or something)? Other than that, he seemed like an ideal person to become leader of the labour party and then prime minister. Clean as a wistle with the expenses scandal and generally came across as one of the better MP's. Look at his voting record - it could be worse, even for labour. But since the parliamentary debate on military action against syria, which came across as clear leadership bid from Benn, I started to go off him. Then his behaviour in more recent times? It's like, not even Hilary Benn could be relied upon y'know - sure he can disagree with Corbyn's leadership, but the way he did it...? Says it all.
good film. deplorable piece of history showing how the British state came down and crushed what were quite fair demands from those Asian ladies.
is that why the media today NEVER shows what happened back then?? Shame or literal Whitewash?
Lovely little documentary.
The workers, UNITED, will never be defeated. United being the key word here. Solidarity. We are many, they are few. (Shelley, by way of Corbyn)
I was there on July 11th along with four others who traveled down from our recently union organised factory in Kirkham Lancashire. Members of UCATT.

Sadly again the the non strikers betrayed their own class, as well as those working class people who took their jobs. This happened with the miners.
the miners weren't beaten by scabs tho
