I really like how nissan integrate the climate control into the dashboard. It looks clean and elegant.
Nicked from Tesla
touch screen climate controls are awful in the long run of driving a car. Looks great tho
But ergonomically, we all know that real buttons (like on the Leaf and Honda e) are better
@@ExplodingPiggy Tesla climate controls are on the touchscreen, not built into a nice wood dash...
ahhh the feeling of posting in a thread so old that everyone involved could be long dead.....this message is automated.
I actually really like this car. I wish they would build more sedans, but overall this is going in the right direction. I love the sound of the electric motor. Afterall, an electric car like this is probably the most comfortable way to get around. If they made the seats softer like they made them in 80s and 90s luxury cars, this would be a no brainer. The smooth acceleration and braking must be amazing.
I agree with you on really liking the Ariya, but also wanting to see more EV Sedans. I think a Nissan Sentra or Nissan Altima re-imagined in the same style as the Ariya would be EXTREMELY compelling. Would be a great Tesla Model 3/Polestar 2 competitor. I also personally would love to see Nissan bring back the 2 door Altima, but EV/Ariya-ified.
Back in the late 80s and early 90s NISSAN was the top Japanese automaker and hopefully with this new EV Ariya this brand can restore its image......
That did a very good job parking. I’m actually impressed with Nissan on this electric vehicle!
I love the center console and the fact that it doesn't connect to the dash. Soooo much more room.
This is why I really like the Ioniq 5 as well!
It's weird seeing this much technology in a Nissan, but it looks really good
edit: not a commuter car
@Driver 637 cheaper than a model3
Lol this ain't yo baby Mama's Nissan.... 🤣🤣🤣😂 Jus Joking🤣
@@JDMSwervo2001 It's so weird to consider anything more than $30k a commuter car
Bro for 59k? You mad🤣
wym? Nisaan has always been well ahead of competitors with tech. They have pioneered many common technologies today.
I just purchased a 2023 leaf and I love it! I saw Ariya at the dealership and thought it looks a lot like a Lexus SUV. This will probably be my next car in the future once I start having children.
Excellent POV demo, one of the best I've seen. I really felt I was in the drivers seat and stepping through the pieces and parts. I'm glad your walk around the vehicle was minimal, it's the drivers view I wanted to see, great job. Being a 2011Leaf owner it was nice to see what could be a step up staying within the Nissan family. However, $55K+ !!!! We ordered a new battery for our 2011 Leaf (yet to be delivered/installed) and yes, it's old technology and yes it's a short range and yes and yes and yes, but.... It will be way less than $55K and still satisfiy our needs again, high tech not required. We live in a small northern CA community where it has served us well with a RAV4 ICE complement for long range. Two vehicles is our hybrid package. I don't see electric for timely long range travel yet. A larger radius would be nice though.
Doesn’t sound hollow, over bumps and expansion joints. Seems like a solid car.
Idk why people use noises like this as a measure of how good a car is 😂
This is more impressive that I thought. The Topher always delivers in his tests. The exterior color is not my cup of tea but I like the interior design.
The hideaway storage bin is a really cool idea. Reminds me of a high-tech version of what you see in a minivan like the Odyssey. From a styling and usability perspective (and at only a slightly higher price point) this car blows Toyota's new EV out of the water.
This will blow the Hyundai Ioniq out of water too.
This is the next generation of Nissan
The startup is relaxing😁😁
Excellent review, why aren't you working for one of the auto mags? Your content is great, full of smart insights, observations and attention to detail, not to mention a great voice and enunciation. You deserve your own show.
What a beautiful leafs on the parking, btw
Excellent demonstration. Sound system major plus.
Great review, looking forward for an outdoor ride on snow or mud. I love it.
Thanks for a really great video.
I love this trim! I especially like the changing lane feature. I'm going to meet up with my sales dealer next Saturday to test drive it. I would need AWD rather than the FW.
Update: I met with the salesperson and took the Ariya for a test drive. It was amazing. She said trims are with FW- no AWD. I test drove the premiere. I love it ❤️
This car is everything I would want in an electric vehicle. Will be ready to purchase an EV in 5-7 years when my current car is paid off and hoping that the technology advances even further (I know nothing about EVs and the future of them). But I would assume they'll continue to become more and more common and affordable as the world moves that direction.
Nissan made a huge interior buff
Yo that intro of you turning it on was LIT AF!!
really great video :) subscribed!
Simple but very good looking car. Well done NISSAN!!!
i like how the camera bounces when he walks around, i'm just bouncing with him lol.
My very first Nissan EV SUV! Nice job bro.
Can’t wait to see the Prius pov drive
Seems like a great car. I hope they have an Infiniti version of this coming down the line, they really need an EV in their lineup...
It's coming soon
What a beautiful Interior... Kudos to Nissan!
Oh my goodness, the shape those roads are in...
Defiantly like the looks of the Ariya.
Great my new car getting it this week.
Looks like a solid Nissan. Looking forward to their future cars.
Hi excellent video...I was wondering if you are going to do a review on the last TT before it's going to "die"
loves how u showed the lights ! blinkers too maybe??
The color is beautiful
I prefer front wheel drive since I don't do off-roading. This is a great POV. Love it
Good review.
That is one good looking ev suv! I’m impressed i may go out and buy one today haha
Help!!! Love your insights and perspectives… would love for you to review/drive the Cadillac Lyriq…. Is that on the schedule? @thetopher? 🤞🤞🤞
That's 55k$US for the FWD version?
Good Lord, those prices aren't going down anytime soon...
Get a lower trim if you don't want all those options! I hear a toyota camry v6 xle goes for around 41k ridiculous!.
when have car prices ever gone down?
@@occckid123 goddamn!
@@occckid123 Since I live in a very snowy environment, AWD is the first box I will always tick. So if there's no lower trim with AWD, 55k$US is totally out of question. Unfortunately.
@@myemailiscool What I mean is: cut costs on the motorized center console, for example (who the heck needs that?), and Nissan wouldn't have to ask for freaking 55k$US for a FWD crossover. I mean, think about that price for a second.
GM got it: just a simple, effective, electric car. No gadgets and whistles... Just the car. And all of a sudden, it's reaching gas car prices. It ain't AWD, I know, but it shows it's possible.
Not a fan of the exterior but that could be a color problem or even just need to see it in person. The interior is really sharp!
u have no taste bud ... that exterior is top-notch
@@drwalka10 ikr? the colour really suits this electric car, not attractive by any means, but being it's electric this looks great!
You gotta see the blue exterior with white interior. It’s really nice.
Not a fan of white interiors, but on this car it just feels right.
I’d take this car in black tho. Black exterior never disappoints
Yeah, I agree. The colour is nice, but the rest of the exterior is too busy and the proportions don't seem right. But the interior looks great.
Very nice interior
... one thing I really like , the room to move your right knee over , like having a bench seat from the '60s ...
Good work, Nissan. Jaime French used to use the song you played via CarPlay, 🙂
This reminds me of the Nissan Murano. I like it.
I think this is the one I want
I went to a car show recently and I seen the Ariya, I personally did not like it but it is a nice sized car. I hope you get a chance to review the new 2023 Prius!!! I would love to hear your opinions on it.
I’ve never been a fan of Nissan but this Ariya is really impressive. One of the best in the EV market but would be great if this was $5K cheaper.
I believe most differences are related to regulations. Here in Italy we do get actual 1-pedal driving, however for example there is no auto lane changing or attention monitoring sensor
It looks so Futuristic 💫🔥
I like it overall😱❣️❣️❣️
these are nice. Hopefully the e4orce models come out for test drives
Love this thing, I heard it handles surprisingly well on track, something about the center of gravity feeling impossibly low even for an EV.
THATS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LOOKING CAR INSIDE AND OUT. THE FRONT LOOKS SO AMAZING IV SEEN IN A LONG TIME. IM A DRIVER OF THE NISSAN LEAF AND AFTER SEEING THIS INE ITS KNOCKED ME FOR 6. DONT GET ME WRONG MY LEAF IS AMAZING TO DRIVE AND ITS VERY COMFORTABLE AND RELAXING TO DRIVE. THE SAFTY FEATURES ARE OUTSTANDING. BUT THIS SEXY VEHICLE IS BLOODY LOVELY. I CANT WAIT FOR MY HIRE CONTRACT TO FINISH AND ILL GET MYSELF ONE OF THESE B.E.A.U.T.Y.S. 💕😍😍🥰😄
Honestly this is the most beautiful car I’ve seen in a long time. Definitely beets Hyundai any day. 🤣
👍👍👍👍👍THUMBS UP👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome car but atleast in my country this thing costs 65k fully loaded including tax…for a Nissan…wtf is up with those prices these days
Here in the Philippines this can easily reach up to 80k lmao
Same story here in Malaysia
Here it starts from 51.200 more or less
For extreme unreliability from nisshit
In US top model is 60k. The base is $43k base model has a 63kw battery and barely does 205 miles.
Love the dashboard, with all the most used controls finally NOT being inside the infotainment system, actual dedicated buttons is a nice touch.
Love the center column, elegant gear selector and storage compartment.
Hate the 2 spoke steering wheel. Seems like every EV CUV these days (Ioniq, EV6) comes with the same steering wheel just different logo...
Can’t wait for this version of pro pilot to make its way down the lineup
I was the biggest fan of nissan in the 1990's early 2000's. I wish nissan sporty era can come back a bit with no cvt
Good old 12 mile road in Farmington Hills. I have seen tons of Nissan development cars around there.
the only thing that i like about the Toyota bZ4X is that yoke with the awesome progressive steering, if you do a typical moose test, you dont have to spin the wheel erratically left and right, just turn it and its done.. its amazing.. i wished other company's would off that as an option...
I wanna buy this looks very good
The start up made me think a movie was about to start 😂😂. EVs are all about that gimmick.
One of the nicest EVs on the road at the minute, with a lot of thought gone into the design and seems to be very premium. A nice thing to see when other so called premium brands are cutting corners. I drive an ix3 and I plan on changing this year. This could be a front runner. (Pity there's no frunk however).
The parking system is kinda nice
Could you make a video of the driver seat memory seat system? I'd like to see how that works in the Premiere trim. How to program? How is it activated? Is it a big deal that the side and rear view mirrors are not included? Even better if you can compare it with the memory seats of the top of the line Platinum trim
Holy shit the reversing noise is sooo much louder than in the leaf
I didn't hear anything when he reversed.
@@WALLACESHITS might need to make an appointment with your doctor
well, in beggining when ariya came out i did not like it at all, but now i like it kinda more then a leaf. amazing car, cool features. just amazing.
Fantastic car!!!!!
you should comment on how it is compared to its competitors like the ID4, MachE, MY, etc.
It really reminds me of my 2017 Murano. I love my Murano and this would be a great transition to EV. My friends have a Tesla Model Y and I find the ride to be too stiff. Does this ride better than the Tesla?
impressive
Nissan is a brand that I loved in the 90s and early 200s and then absolutely hated more than any other manufacturer right around when they started putting a CVT in all their cars with no manual option but ever since the 370z Nismo edition and the beautiful looking new Z I’ve been obsessed with this brand. It’s come to the point where - as you know chris - I recently bought myself an R50 Nissan Pathfinder.. 2003 model year for a winter beater and am now planning on importing a certain special Nissan made in the late 90s which is about to become legal for Japan to US importation in a year or so 😆😁 and now I wonder why I ever had so much animosity towards the brand. They have a rich heritage for the driving enthusiast as I’ve always known. Maybe it’s just because of how horrible early CVTs were in Nissans especially I remember reading about the drone and experiencing it myself in a Sentra rental a few years back. Not only have I learned from experience that the newer CVTs from Nissan are actually pretty good to drive with the most recent generation maxima I’ve driven more than once, but im also noticing more conventional torque converters slowly making their way back in their ranks (i.e the all new awesome looking 2022 pathfinder getting a 9 speed for this new generation along with worlds better looks and capability.
Just goes to show how strong of bad impressions can Be.. I’m the biggest car enthusiast I know (alongside TheTopher and his amazing fan/subscriber base) and yet nissans slump was bad enough to make them the only car manufacturer i truly disliked for years. 🤷🏻♂️
Atleast NISSAN is trying to keep up with modern times, that other Japanese maker MAZDA doesn’t even offer hybrids or pickups and has one EV just released. NISSAN next step should be putting hybrids in the Sentra and their SUV lineups. The CVT nightmare for NISSAN seems to be fixed on the 2020 and up vehicles, so it’s time for NISSAN to step up their game......
@@Dallas867 Some folks care about gas consumption and want a hybrid and their are folks like you i (assume) who wanna speed on city streets and highways.......
the s15 silvia?
What specific car?
My Ariya is amazing the pedal goes down to trigger the back lights, unlike some other EVs the brake lights failed to come on all the time.
Are there drive events or something like that? I've been checking in with local dealers to see if I could get a test drive for my mom (she likes Nissan and likes the look of the Ariya) but nobody has one.
This looks like a really well put together SUV. I wonder when they'll make the luxury Infinity version and how impressive that will be. If this were about 10k less it would be an incredible value. At this price it's competing with a lot but looks justified
I wish the rearview mirror wasn't so square and I wish the fender flares were body colored but other than that looks like a nice vehicle
9:16 daymmm we need a pov drive of that crx !!!
I saw a red one at my old job a few weeks ago. Absolutely mint, as if it was barely a year old, and I took so many damn pictures of that car. When I was in high school fifteen years ago, I wanted one so badly as there were two modified ones in my area that I saw driving around every day, and one of them had an exhaust note to die for. A while before I bought my '10 STi, I tried so hard to find a nice CR-X, but either they were cheap boxes of scrap, or they cost way more than what I paid for the STi. Maybe one day.
I agree, these old Hondas are becoming more and more desirable I saw civic ej1 coupe on bring a trailer (auction website) that civic was too mint in condition it sold more than what it actually came for around $18000. It was painted in factory red wine color. Never ever saw that type of civic again on any websites.
I’m curious to know when you can purchase this on the website! If anyone knows, let me know!
Anything over the bZ4x
Great dashboard. Clean and simple. Holds its own against Tesla.
Can we just take a moment and listen to the new startup
LOooks so good to me.
Chris have you tested the Platinum eforce awd+ model?
I’m patiently waiting for the redesigned Murano.
I about died when I saw the powered armrest but manual tilt and telescopic steering wheel.😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love your voice. Sorry I know that’s not your main point. But OMG
Wish that they have a hybrid like this
I just noticed the up and down motion of the camera when topher is showing the car's exterior 360. Was that always there or is he limping ?
Очень симпатичный авто получился.
nice car
rose goal/copper paint must be a new trend lol
Crazy that this is the best Nissan interior including the Infiniti's.
That’s what I was gonna comment. They better come up with something modern and cool for Infiniti.
Okay ngl - the moment you turned on and demoed the sound system all I could think about was "Undecided with Matt Ferrell"?!
Looks nice but for $55K I'd much rather have the EV6 or Ionic 5. Lower range and slower charging than both of those cars.
285 miles of range is more like 250 in the real world and for an SUV I just don’t think that’s enough to mitigate range anxiety. Once brands other than Tesla can more easily make EV’s with 300-plus miles of range I think it will change the market a lot.
This is my kind of car, I love a car with no dials and knobs, I find them distracting. When the ariya becomes available I'm gonna buy it, maybe even the kia ev9 and the hyundai ionic 7.
Why you didn't pop the hood to see what is under ? Why it has only CHaDemo? Does it have liquid cooled battery pack? Can you connect it to the house power, does it have EV to House ready? You missed so many things...
Will you still need to replace the engine after 60k mile has it is on most of your new generation engine?
In my thoughts this is precious then toyota harrier hybrid❤
