  • Isaiah Hartenstein is one of Germany´s up and coming basketball talents. After turning down numerous offers from prestigious US Colleges and european top teams such as Barcelona and Real Madrid, 17-year old Isaiah decided to start his professional career with the Lithuanian champion Zalgiris Kaunas. In the basketball crazy-country of Lithuania he wants to make further steps to eventually reach his big goal, playing in the NBA. We accompany Isaiah during his last days in Germany, dive into the challenges of being on the cusp of a professional basketball career and learn more about an extraordinary father son relationship.

    Isaiah simply had the perfect prerequisites & genes: a very tall father who was a professional (center) in the 1st league for 12 years and then a top coach.
    As a result, the 2.13 m tall Isaiah was already playing in Germany's 2nd division at the age of 16.

      1:57 es lässt sich wohl wertungsfrei feststellen, dass er extrem nuschelt. Manchen mag das nicht auffallen, wenn sie aus der selben Gegend kommen oder in ihrer Freizeit so reden. Im Endeffekt ist sein deutsche Aussprache in der NBA aber sowieso nicht wichtig.

    knowing dennis schröder and seeing him make it realy showed me how hard it is to get to the top. my nephew got coaching from him and is close to making it into one of the big european clubs once he is 16 or 17

    he is going to be good. he is skilled, can handle and shoot, works hard to rebound. can play in the post. All in all, probably the 3rd or 4th PF prospect in the draft.

    A lot of 6'10" players in the NBA can shoot the 3. Can this kid defend the best big men in t he world? I sure hope so, I'd like to see this guy come work out with the Lakers :)

    Looks promising definitely NBA level. If he can shoot it consistently could see him as a starter on some lower NBA teams very quickly. Upside is the sky on this kid if he can realise it that's an other question.

    People are ignorant. His mom is white american. His father is half german and half black. Which makes him about a quarter black . But they lived in Oregon and lived in Germany. That's wht they are speaking both languages. But im not sure if dad is originally American born or German Born.

    Imagine telling an NBA player that he can only bring one bag XD But mad respect to Isaiah for rejecting offers from Madrid and Barcelona and instead betting on the NBA. Spain is pretty much as far as you can go outside the American league, so it's a big gamble.
