We need John Speraw to push the implementation of boys volleyball across the country.

I think Javier weber for USMNT, he's been with speraw since 2022, he helped the usa men's national team win silver in the 2022 vl, silver in the 2023 vl, first place in the olympic qualifiers, won bronze in the paris olympics. and if y'all look during the 2024 matches played by the usa men's national team (vl and paris olympics) coach weber gave a lot of direction to the players compared to coach speraw, maybe coach speraw wants to see how coach weber can replace him..

Great summery! I really want to see a pro North American volleyball league in the next couple years. It would definitely bring us to the next level.

That is insane to hear. Hope Speraw will bring changes. USA is the birthplace of volleyball....

If Karch wasn't already coaching the USWNT, I'd be pulling for him to be the next USMNT coach.
I wonder if we could get Jeff Stork or Bob Ctvrtlik to coach them?

Something that’s been commonly spoken amongst the USA beach volleyball community, is that we need something that’s better than a (Olympic) Gold Medal. While we don’t have that, USA Beach will continue to be just another Olympic Sport that only gets traction every 4 years like swimming and track&field. There’s too much value on these international gold medals, and it’s completely hindering the domestic growth of the sport. We can only begin entering the same sports dimension as NFL/NBA/MLB/NHL once there is an annual domestic trophy/ring/plaque that is more valuable than a Gold Medal. I believe the same situation can be said for indoor volleyball, and I hope USAV can soon start establishing a partnership with a club to establish a permanent pro league.

The problem is (and I say this as a Tennessee native) that in 'Murica', football reigns supreme and unfortunately volleyball (especially mens) is not even as popular as soccer. Also, since there is no money in it, like there is in football, baseball or basketall....
Also, volleyball is NOT easy to learn and even more difficult to master: I can't think of any other reason they felt the need to allow the serve to hit the net (fail) and adding the libero (when the back row specialist covered that position just fine)....to somehow make it easier and more accessible?

@@gissneric It really isn't. If properly played, it's fast, requires split second decisions and ball control that requires finesse as well as speed and strength. I can run routes on a football field and catch passes, but can still say football is the same way, hard to learn and difficult to master, but for slightly different reasons than vball is.
If they are playing 'backyard' ball, chances are, there are going to be 'throws' and 'double contacts' regarding official rules, all over the place.

@@gissneric To be fair, we ARE talking about mens volleyball, as Speraw was the MENS coach. We also have a former mens two-time gold medal indoor volleyball player as the current coach of the womens' team.
As for womens pro and college, it can get pretty technical as well, and they do hit hard. Let's not downplay the ladies and juniors now!

Sorry for posting a comment without watching, but I don't have 1 hour available now. Who is going to coach USA NT now? Or he will do both things?

This is great news. USA Volleyball does a poor job of marketing the sport especially in their own country.

I think it's more that 'Muricans' are conditioned on football, basketball and baseball. There is no money in pro volleyball in the U.S. as well.

Why not do this in a regular episode? Out of the two, the Rob dude acts more childish and demanding, never seen Everett do special episode for his national side. Any ways was expecting Superlega episode

Probably because a good chunk of their viewership is based out of the US or are US expats. I also don't doubt that if Canada's volleyball oversight group had something like this happen, Everett would do something like this. It's okay to be excited for change.
