It will still have a very weak GPU, compared to cards from NVidia or AMD. RTX 4090 is a beast! And Mac Studio does not support external GPU boxes, over Thunderbolt.

Any Mac releasing in the coming months is already engineering complete, and in production in Asia. Apple M3 is amazing for video editing. But that's about it. For 3D modeling, gaming, CAD, 3D printing, crypto mining, a powerful Windows PC is *much* more capable and much cheaper too. And a huge software library. And easily upgraded or repaired. Windows is a win-win-win situation.
I been eyeballing the new M3/M4 stuff since getting my m2 MacBook Pro - doing graphic design stuff on my PC I started lagging and the MacBook was SO SMOOTH. Now I've gotten into more refined works and now the M2 is lagging - omg I can't wait to see these M3's it's gna help my work all around
Just bought the M2 Ultra .. works with my LG 40 in 5K monitor ... running VMs and AI apps now ... If I could do a zero dollar swap I might ... But for now am happy.
Hoping to get a Studio for music production, mainly Bitwig. The M3 Ultra looks more focused for such things versus the previous ones, more aimed at portability and concerned with low power. Desktops shouldn't be focused on that as much ;)
We have always been a PC family wrt laptops and desktops, but Apple for phones/iPads. However my son got an M1 Max MBP about a year ago and now I want to switch over to Macs. I want to buy either a 64 GB MPB with the 16 core M3 (max I think), OR, maybe the Mac Studio with the M2 Ultra. But like everyone else I'm pulling my hair out hoping the Mac Studio gets an M3 Ultra upgrade by June 2024. We'll see. If I win your MBP, that would be quite excellent. So I could end up getting a MBP *and* a Mac Studio. Thank you! I hope I'm now entered into your contest 🙂

The GPU performance on the M3 Ultra should be unusually competitive for Apple in a space where they’ve typically lagged way behind. It won’t be cheap though.
I'm currently using an M1 MacBook Pro 13", and planning to get either an M3 Pro Mac mini or M3 Max Mac Studio. It should be here really soon and I am very excited!

Still hesitating between the mbp and the Mac Studio, with the same price tag... So It's either the Mbp 14" m3 pro base model, or the mac studio base model, hopefully the m3 model will be out soon. So either I get the portability (not used often, mostly docked, but still somewhat useful and needed one in a while) or a quite better spec'ed computer, with double the ram, more connectivity (no need for a tb4 dock investment) and surely a few extra cores too. As a electronic music producer, the extra power is welcomed, but so is the portability sometimes needed, or helpful (live act and some composition on the fly). It's a hard choice to make... But maybe, with money saved from a tb4 dock needed for the mbp, I can add in a few hundred and get myself an iPad and use that to produce on the road. The ios ecosystem for pro audio apps is really capable now. So maybe this will be a smarter choice? Any thoughts? Please do give me your thoughts 😄

I have a Mac Studio M1 Max. 32Gb of RAM and 1 Tb SSD and a Macbook Air M2 13" with 16 Gb of RAM and 512 GB SSD and I'm quite happy with those. Next purchase will probably be a new studio but not for some years yet. Purchase for this year willmaybe be a RX7800 XT for my gaming Pc. 🙂
