Hello Kyle, you made clear your explanation; however, I would like to ask you something that most of learners express when they are learning this tense, how can I know which verbs are regular and irregular? because most of teachers answer this question with a classic speech: "irregular verbs are those which aren't regular verbs" what do you think about this answer? Regards and thanks for the video.
Well any verb that ends with (ed) in the past is going to be a regular verb, obviously. However if looking at a verb in the present tense there is no rule to know if it is regular/irregular in the past tense. Unfortunately memorization is the only way and frustrating I know! However, with more and more exposure you will be surprised at how quickly you'll learn them! Good luck and your English is great already! Congratulations!
