The earth is 4.8 billion years old; and in all that time just imagine how lucky those of us were, who happened to live in the tiny fraction of time to witness the Beatles!
Paul was hands down the best musician in the band. Despite that, with the Beatles, the whole was greater than the sum of its parts. John and Paul playing off each other in the songwriting created magic that has never been repeated.
You know what i see on this video??? I see just 4 guys enjoying what they most love in the world... playing music together!!!! Forget the fame, the millions copy sales, the broken records ..... just four friends having a good time!!!
I think the most squabbling was between Lennon and McCartney. Even when they couldn't stand each other, the chemistry is undeniable. They're just jamming out and letting their differences go, one final time. Epic session from maybe the best songwriting duo of all time
They were all in their 20s when this was filmed! Their last public performance, and the band would disband soon. They accomplished so much in just a few years.
I read that the Bobbys were called in to break up the Beatles because they didn't have a permit to perform. Seriously? Blew my mind. This was the LAST performance EVER...by the GREATEST band EVER and the cops were called? What do you think would be the public's reception now if the full Beatles band were to give a Rooftop concert? Who the hell is Taylor Swift and why are we talking about her?
Pure Magic... I pray we have some more in our lifetime, but Paul and company used up quite a bit that day. It will take 100 years to refill the lightning in the bottle.
Seeing John play lead is such a joy. To be totally truthful, it doesn't seem to come *quite* as naturally to him as it does to George, but it's still a joy
Paul and John appear to really enjoy "just playing music together." George looked pissed off the whole time. John or Paul should have said, "Hey, if you don't want to do this, we'll get Clapton." :)
I had always assumed that Harrison played the country licks on this tune, but it was Lennon. Love it. These guys could play any instrument they wanted to. Even the Stones, Zep or U2 couldn't do that. I love those bands too BTW. Wish they'd shown Billy more though, he added so much to the tune.
Their hands were freezing up there. Paul's sexiest moments Ever...there was a even better video of this from a different angel.. then it was just gone. 🤍🫶🤍🫶🫂🫶 If I have watched this once, I have watched it 100 times & some 🤍✿ ♡♡
Prior to them getting on the rooftop, the last time they had all played for a live audience was in August 29, 1966, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco..
I was 9 years old - first time in London with my family and we were on the street that day. It felt like you were walking in music - will never forget it or my father’s reaction “what’s that b …. row?” All I could say was “dad, it’s the Beatles” while looking all around. Dad was not amused 😂
And at this age they were between 25-27 years old and they were already the best group in the world. What would have happened if they separated 5 or 10 years later? Obviously at this precise moment they did not know the influence that would precede them, that the entire world of music is governed today by "before the Beatles" and "after the Beatles".

Paul is in another planet! What a musician!!!!!
It's John one of these.
He is the best musician in this planet ❤

Don't miss John's awesome lead guitar solo and Paul's tickled reaction to how good it is.
I just posted I didn't know John played lead..but dang he NAILED IT!!

@@TheDKServices So true!
@@TheDKServices I would say that Rogers and Hart and Ira and George Gershwin could give them a run for their money.
Super great

Imagine being on the street that day
Imagine being the constable that shut it down then realizing (at a later time) that was the last time the Beatles performed live😢

Haha, would have been incredible
love that they all jump at the same time when Billy Preston starts his solo.
Love Ringo's drumming! It really moves the song along here.
To me one of the best Beatles act.......so natural anf full of talent !
A time in music history never to be repeated. Quality all the way.
Every one of them was damned AWESOME! Love watching this.
I'm already 62 yrs. Old ,ilove thier muusiç until now
Saw Billy Preston for a few brief moments there. Genius.
The towels on Ringo's drum set get me every time.
Why are they there?
@@user-bz8sy9cj8eI imagine it has to do with mic-ing the drums in windy conditions? Not sure....funny though.
@@user-bz8sy9cj8e it makes the snare drum sound better or it makes it sound a bit different
To dampen the echoes and make them sound more crisp rather then booming
@@lynby6231 this - this technique makes the drum much more round. it's used in studio recording a ton as well as live
Magicians having some fun and making their beautiful magic.
Paul was at his happiest here!!
Pedazo de temón. Posiblemente en mi top 3 de los Beatles, porque es rápida, potente, rockera, es simplemente brutal.
The best live performance by the legendary Beatles. Period.
What a guitar solo John Lennon, amazing and there will never be another like you, thank you for your brilliant mind and life experience ❤

My favorite song by the Beatles
I would have given half of what I earned in life

So good. Wish we could see more of Billy Preston though, especially during good solo.
There’s a video of Billy Preston (quite a bit older) singing “My sweet lord” at a George Harrison tribute concert. It’s on UA-cam
Damn I wish I could've been there for this.
Get Back best Beatles song ever.

John's guitar solo is amazing! He makes it seems so easy... But it's not!
Talvez tenha sido esse o melhor show dos Beatles. Põe inclusive o live at Shea stadium no chinelo!
