I don’t think it’s inevitable. I think he’ll change his mind last second and show empathy.
@Mega_Croissantamence I have most certainly considered that possibility, especially considering that there’s probably a lot more party members to meet for later fruitless quests.

perhaps he's already on that path. however, the fact that his deceitfulness stat went sky high when he leveled up once convinces me that he is very good at lying, even to us. i require more evidence before conclusive judgement, but i won't doubt that by the end of the adventure, Karoto might cry if he betrays Nabiu.

You know, introducing a character planning their betrayal is a very interesting design choice; usually a deceptive character won’t even reveal their intentions to the player until later in the story. Of course, Nabiu doesn’t know what’s going on, but the player (viewer) is very much aware this character has bad intentions. I can’t wait to see where they go with Karoto!

The idea of a thieving bard is honestly kind of silly itself.
To sneak around, you have to be silent.
To use any of your abilities as a bard, you have to... Play music.
What I imagine him doing is performing at a tavern or something and taking everyone's stuff while they're distracted.
I think he's more of a swindler-type thief, rather than a burglar-type thief. Cheats at cards, shell games, etc.

I just think it's really cool how you expect to fight Karoto after Nabiu starts suspecting him in the previous act, but then it gets interrupted by the Broccoli Knight fight. So I was attempting to trick newer players into thinking Karoto had a real bossfight to subvert their expectations.

@@chasethemaster3440 Nah, it's just us pretending there is an actual, playable game since Terminalmontage's series is made to ressemble one. You'll see plenty more of that if you go to the comment section of the Leyline Lycan theme on this channel.

Karoto theory :
As you may have noticed, the Knight that specifically chose to go after Karoto doesn't have the exact same design as the basic knight, the biggest difference being the big green hair.
Now what if it's not actually hair, that is guard is a carrot too and that this "hair" is actually the carrot tops, just like Karoto's but much bigger ?
Maybe that this Knight is related to Karoto, like a brother or something, and this is why he decided to go after Karoto himself.
Maybe this Knight is some kind of hero of the people, who Karoto resents because everyone thinks he's soooo much better than him.
And that's partially why he introduced himself to Nabiu as a hero. Because he wants to feel the praise and admiration that his brother constantly gets but that he never did, even before he became a thief.
We'll see how well that theory ages.

My goodness I remember seeing this channel years ago with a bunch of awesome video game remixes, some of my favorite actually because I felt they captured the idea of what the creators would have done with certain songs if they were given different hardware limitations and the like.
