Mihintale es un pico montañoso de mil metros de altitud, cercano a Anuradhapura en Sri Lanka. Los lugareños creen que fue el lugar de reunión entre el monje budista Mahinda y el rey por lo que lo consideran como el sitio donde nació el budismo en Sri Lanka. Ahora es un lugar de peregrinación con el emplazamiento de varios monumentos religiosos en las 3 colinas que lo forman, en una de ellas hay un buda gigante, en otra 2 estupas y en la otra una roca sagrada a la que se puede acceder por unas escaleras.
